  1. I think any reply to Yuri can be concidered off topic Just limit yourself to replying only to active wingsuit skydivers and basejumpers, saves a lot of time and typing JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Are you 'non brand affiliated' FlockU guys trying to set an official world record for 'most threads taken off-topic by naming our product'? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. There was a small delay due to the copy facility delivering the DVDs in the wrong sized boxes/cover. They've corrected it past week, and all fancy looking DVDs are now on their way to their new owners.. So watch those mailboxes this coming week JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. The suit looks awesome Dan! As do your tinkered pix! Graphic nerdism rocks!! I do think from now on, we should stop photoshopping Campos into new suit pictures, and start adding some serious ponies! You coming to Flock and Dock to fly that baby? Ill also be bringing some video featuring the Phantom2( and other PF suits) in their natural enviroment (see attached)! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Dude, next time bring some sunnies for a proper Camposs™ Good stuff! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Looking for news updates for our website, I ran into this horrible news on multiple websites. http://espn.go.com/action/freeskiing/blog?post=4018726 ....... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/445951/d67fd007/skydivers_bekijken_lancering.html Here it is again. Most comments here (in Dutch) are negative and generaly unimpressed. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. I recorded 5 jumps with the camera with the included battery. Including playback after the jump. Hooking it up to a charger once every few jumps will suffice in the beginning (if you're like me, an not immidiately able to afford the extra battery) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. He is asking about buying his first suit, which he will own/fly for a long time after that. Not asking about what suit to fly for his first jumps. My first suit was an S3. I had about 50 jumps on a classic II and a few on a GTi before that time. A wingsuit is no other than a canopy. Stick with rental gear untill you're capable and experienced enought to handle the size you will be buying/flying for many jumps after. I didnt buy a 280 sq/ft main when I went looking for my first rig. But yea...though it wasnt what I ment in my answer, I do agree fully with what you say. Any wingsuit that has possible restricted acces to the hackey, and a wingsuit large enough to give you trouble in unstable situations, is FAR from a beginner suit. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Only a few more weeks to go! And with Robert and his lovely lady also having their ticket booked, that one can be changed from 'Maybe' to 'Fo shizzle!' as well! She probably has to pack light, as most of her bagage allowance will probably be claimed for the fancy nylon Robert is packing ;) I might have to quit eating for a few weeks to fullfill those 'skinny' European pomises! Cant wait to finaly meet al you guys! Ill bring some stroopwafels (sorry guys..thats all they allow me to bring...even though Im flying from Amsterdam:) ps. Can we make a ponysound as the boogie yell? Ready...Set...mwuiihihi (or whatever sound it is that US ponies make:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. The skyflyer1 is often refered to as twitchy. And even that one is only 'twitchy' when flow at its max (mostly due to the small legstance) The Skyflyer3 is a fine suit that can be flown easily in most of todays formations/jumps, and if you can get it at a nice price its a fine suit to make your first few hundred wingsuit jumps on, without ever feeling the need to upgrade. Not everyone is on 'new suit' budgets, and this is a fine alternative when found at a nice price.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. woopsy...read over that one... me bad... Though I so desperately wanted to make the screw-in-the-carpet joke I would have posted this anyways, even if I had noticed JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Yea..that would be a good option. Im using my camera in a Dbox from TonFly, so I dont expect any issues there. But I might actualy re-open the camera and put something in the holes, depending on how much of the camera is still visable in the Box (still no estemate from TonFly on delivery sadly) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. I just spent 25 minutes, and removed the hand-strap the clean and (if ever needed) repairable way. Its a no-brainer, but just in case...here is a small step by step: Take out the 4 bottom screws, Take out the 3 side screws, Take out the one screw in the side of the battery compartment (open screen for easier acces) take plastic cover off (sideways/outward) unscrew silver thingy on the front, and take the strap connector off unscrew the silver thingy in the back (2 screws) and take the loop of the strap off. Its now all free. put both silver connector thingies back in with their screws put cap back on put 7 screws back in spend 20 minutes looking for dropped black screw in thick black carpet put the last screw back in Its voila.. Skip the lost screw step, and it should only be a 5 minute operation JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. That video on Jullien still amazes me every time I see it. Such nice and agressive inputs, and an intuitive yet direct flying style we dont see in a lot of people. Any chance at throwing some more vid on Jullien onto the Tubes Patrick? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Lena...I actually asked if they could remove the video, so it would be just the photos and article. But glad to hear Im the king...nice to share a thrown with DSE who is the king of D/L.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. The video was at a commercial agency, that specificly mentioned getting approval for use from Birdman/Jari. Regardless if you misunderstood what was asked, or it was a whole other matter. the video was available at a press agency. And no contracts where signed for that, especialy in terms of accountability and copyright. Had this been mentioned to be beforehand, we could have sorted something and also sorted music rights. And I would have gladly done so for free, as all the work ive done in the past for birdman with regards to logo, adverts, videos etc. The publicity for Mark is awesome and well deserved. But making sure all materials used in promotion are completely legal and all sorted with regards to permissions and use of (copyrighted) music is also part of that. And just (without sorting that out with involved parties first) doing so, is just bad form. The email conversation you and I are having at the moment says enough, and is not one that needs to go public beyond whats been said here. Friendship and promotion of the sport are two things I strongly stand for. As was my strong stance for Birdman in the past. But things changed in that equation. And when somebody mixed business into that one, it showed an ugly side of some people I dont really like. I hope Mark and TopGun get many more articles and mentions in the media due to this. And hope that we may see lots of orginal and new material coming from the team and birdman as a company soon. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Try watching this video on our websites video tutorial section. Most people tend to push down on the wings to hard, and end up stalling their wingsuit. Flying it like a camera-suit, instead of like a wing(suit). Flying a canopy in deep brakes may feel like you're going down slowly, but you are hardly covering ground. Letting the canopy fly, might go down a bit quicker, but it will make you fly a much larger distance. A wingsuit needs the forward speed to fly, so try and focus on flying fast forward, and dont worry to much about your downward speed. And once the forward speeds go up, your fallrate will decrease as well (as a result of more lift being generated). As with any wingsuit, dont try to focus to much on model-specific tips on flying, but just look at flying your body. Though some things may differ a bit depending on the size and model wingsuit, the general technique behind flying your body is always the same. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Awesome stuff Matt... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. I think the rules have changed with regards to previous years... I seem to remember A licences where okay 2 years ago? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Lena, you're always pretty quick judging against me on situations where you have little to no background information. The people and parties involved have been notified from the start, and choosen ignoring and silence as an answer. Distributing other peoples work witout prior notification and /or permission is just bad form... Ive never ben known to ask money, be a bad sport about giving video to media etc. All I ask is knowing what happens with my work...and when people dont do so and treat my work as their poperty (esp. after a lot of other events that have occured) I am just disappointed and angry at the way they do business... tonysuit, pf and all other people Ive worked with are much more human and correct at this... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Its not even solely the credit, but most of all just someone ASKING beforehand. Im not out for money. I just want to know where and when stuff I edit is being used. And also having Birdman pay for the rights for the music used (instead of dumping THAT on me) Lena> like pictures for magazines, or the footage we gave to the Ukrainian TV last year. That was all done with the photographers/editors approval. How would the people from the 71 way feel, if I was to start giving their footage/photos to local TV stations and magazines here, because I felt it was good press. But doing that without asking ANY of the people owning the footage. Or (which is what happened here) on top of that handing it to a press agency who is now selling/offering that video. Its not at all about money...it about permission of the owner of a work. If they had handed in a seperate edit with just Marks footage that would have been great. But in this case, half of the footage was mine, as was the edit. And I like having a say (or at least KNOW) where its used.. A nice article...for sure..but how would mark feel if that interview had been about me and I used his pictures/video without his knowledge/permission beforehand? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Wha? Where did that idea come from? Birdman payd my jumps hahaha... I never had one single jump payd or anything at all by the company, and every single wingsuit from that brand Ive owned has been one I payd for myself with hard work and euros I worked my ass off for... Aside from the company owing me money for R&D work, there isnt a single euro I ever recieved from that direction.. So yea..this stuff (them selling/distributing my video editing work without prior asking like its their property) leaves me with a bit of a bad taste... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. And nice to see Jari/Birdman hand out/sell my edit to more websites and even a news-agency who sells/redistributes the video. Its not a video-edit Birdman owns and/or has rights to sell/distribute (on top of that, without proper credit for who edited it OR who shot a large part of the freefall footage, in any of the interviews) But I guess its much like the soon to be released wingsuit 'designed' by the same company. Who cares who did the actual work...... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Or also give the other cameraflyer a hint of credit for shooting half, and actually editing the video on which the article is based (and never agreed/signed/or even knew about the use of this video as part of a commercial interview/picture sale).... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
