  1. Well, I'm no astrophysicist (although I did major in astrophysics)... but, an atmospheric pressure of zero means there is no atmosphere. And despite our well documented social skillls in creating cool atmospheres, this satellite does not have the gravity to support one. No air means no drag on your pilot chute, and no deploy. At 200mph even if the surface is made of marshmallow, the ultimate base site is going to require the ultimate PLF. (I also recommend a helmet and some sturdy moon boots)
  2. I liked the kid complaining to her mommy after the jump ... "you will keep on doing it and doing it until you break"
  3. People, who are we to choose on behalf of the cat that it can't enjoy the same sport that we do? I am sure there are plenty of cats out there that want to make the natural transition from napping and drinking milk into base. But we never think that its up to us to help them gear up (thank you, oppsable thumbs). Here is a prime example - http://www.shortnews.com/shownews.cfm?id=51154 - now how much more fun would this little fella have had with a kitty-Flik on? Shame on us for not considering their extreme needs.
  4. Highest - 877ft - Bridge Day, 2005 Lowest - 876ft - Bridge Day, 2005 (I jumped up a bit more on the first one) What prize do I get for the biggest low jump? If its the (missing) photos, just CC me along with the others.
  5. Thanks Jaap. That does sound like a really busy schedule for two rigs. I will hope for more responses to the post, but keep your number at hand. If we meet up, you earned the beer already for helping out so many people.
  6. Having followed several promising leads, it looks like I am still traveling to Bridge Day without any gear. I need to beg, borrow, steal, rent some gear from someone. I am jumping in the last group of the day 11:15-12:00, but I am willing to make the 630am trip and squeeze in at the start if it helps. I need a 260 or 280 to land safely, and a container. Any info or offers gladly accepted. I understand the going rate, and will add a few beers as well for anyone helping me out. Thanks a lot, JW.
