No, no...my neighbor is the Elevator Nazi throwing dirty looks and hitting the call cancel button. I'm the passive aggressive elevator critic that complains to the folks on dz.com rather than sucking it up and taking the stairs every time...I try...but those 100 degree valley days scream elevator.

Well, in my building the stairs are clean and well lit while the elevators are slow and shakey. You'd be either an overpaid faculty member, an underpaid staffer, or an 18-22 year old undergrad . Its Davis, so youre most likely wearing sandals.

How many floors do you have to be going up before taking the elevator...? Assume the stairway is right next to the elevator. I work in a 9 story building with double flights for each floor. We have the slowest elevators in the county. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to get to work on time on the 6th and having someone get in with me to go to the 2nd floor. But maybe I'm just being self centered again...hence the poll...

Somewhere around 13 days...or so I heard...I have only a vague recollection after day 3 or so and I suspect much of that time was in such a state of stumbling stupor it can hardly be called awake. Not my proudest moment.

Went cold turkey for the 3rd and final time at the AMerican Boogie last year....closing in on the 1 year...cold is the only way I could do it...cutting down just led to building back up...

She made sure to come in to my office and spend a good 5 minutes talking about how she was sick but came in anyway...but I've turned over a new leaf...I'm not staying home sick and bitter...I've come back to work today and feel it only fair to pass the torch...or...the ebola on to the next coworker...

I dont post much but...well, actually, this is my beer post...the rest were all replies...anyway, I couldnt let this go. I think the use of sicktime in the workplace needs to be the subject of recurrency training...I had to sit out jumping this weekend and burn a sick day home with the plague that the princess down the hall brought in. She didnt want to use her sick time unless she was "really really sick." Is it me? Or does it seem only fair that since she brought the bug in, I should use her sick time? Or am I just being sick and nasty?

Just got home from WA...and youre right...the most beautiful rain clouds I've ever seen! And I hear there are even some that look like mountains if you stay around long enough!

You have to think like a corporate, tree dozing, child exploiting raider to succeed at the mcgame...it took many a long boring meeting, but I managed to stay alive until boredom won out...Think in McEconomics...if its broke...dont fix it...throw mcmoney at it to cover it up!

Crate training! The dogs love it, being naturally den animals, and it will allow you to let the dog out and immediately get it to the "proper" place to go...helps to give a command when you take her out to go as well...like "go pee"... then she'll know its time to go when youre in a hurry to get someplace and you need her to go.
