    Strangely, I'm more freaked out about Bakersfield than I was a few minutes ago. A baby died of being shaken too hard. Another kid was beat to death. A 55 year old lady was killed in a hit-and-run. A semi hit a car on Highway 223; one person died and another person was seriously injured. Several elderly people died of old age, illnesses, etc. It doesn't help that the Bakersfield Californian newspaper lists all the recent deaths in the area. I'm afraid of tuna. I ate a bad piece of tuna one time and got food poisoning. Talk about pain, that was 12 hours of hell, I looked like a raisen when I got done

    Wow you have really thought in detail about the pain you might experience. This is something we do for FUN although it is dangerous. I doubt any skydiver jumps out and is thinking damn this is gonna hurt if I hit in a downplane, and survive to feel the pain. Maybe if the skydiver is in a downplane, then they might be thinking "oh sh*t this is gonna hurt"

    do the level 1 jump you will be suprised at how much more confidence you have once you have gone through ground school. Save that money for level 2!

    I remember oh so long ago, when I did my first tandem. When we got to the door Tom started doing the count by rocking back and fourth I was yelling hold on hold on! ...of course he couldn't hear me, and out we went!

    AGL is about 5,000ft. Yea, I have some cousins that live on the coast of Georgia, and when they come to visit, I took them to Pikes Peak once (its a 14,110ft MSL) and they were getting sem-happy from the lack of O2. But nothing too serious. AGL is 12,500. Longmont is at 5,000 above sea level. so that would be equal to 17,500 on the coast.

    So was walking in the office for AFF2 the other day and heard a story of 3 people that came in to do tandems. Well there were only 2 tandem masters there so one was going to have to wait for the next load. They weren't having it. Instead of dealing with it, or comming back another time they got pissed. the chick started calling one of the girls a bitch and said she would be contacting the manager! Is that stupid or what! I told them they don't want those kind of people jumping with them. I mean what did they expect them to do!
