G'day from the Picton wingsuit boogie, Australia
funnjumper replied to unclecharlie95's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Well wingsuit fans, What a Boogie... Fantastic jumps, fun people, crazy activities, a nest full of new skills, thrills and excitement! 45 NEW FLOCKERS, Aussie 11 WAY FLOCK record and a SKYVAN FULL OF BIRDS!!! A big Thank You to Robert from Phoenix-Fly for sending James and Tiff for our boogie, they were more than great... James for his relentless energy for running yet another FFC and his timeless help for anyone with even the most oddest question. And Tiff, your happiness and your willingness to help everyone was priceless, sorry bout the heat, and for making you use the PA... you accent was too nice not too. And Robert, your suits are amazing! Id also like to thank all the instructors who came along and helped in so many ways, Jimmy Freeman, Neil Fergie, Greg and Elaine Cox, Darren Griggs, Heather and Glen Singleman. It was inspiring to see Heather and Glen testing their oxygen and comms systems on our flights, also jet boy Tim with his designs for his jet boots. The future looks amazing... where will all this go? Congratulations to all those on the 11 way, pics to come... Id also like to thank Jii-Wings for providing the GS1. Ive had about 50 jumps on it now and have found for flocking and camera, even from the worst position, I was able to get into my slot everytime. Its a lot of fun... Finally to all those who travelled far and wide I thank you for making this the biggest and best wingsuit boogie in Aus! And with 45 new flockers the future looks great... BTW... Easter Anyone? -

Gday Wingsuiters and funnsters Worldwide Our boogie has really taken shape. 26 Dec 2 Jan 2006 Breaking news - Robert Pecnik (the designer of the modern wingsuit) and James Boole from phoenix-fly will be coming!!! So far... Two way competition and acrobatics will be run by PFI/BMI and base jump legend Jimmy Freeman Time/distance/GPS comps will be run by Kim (Scatty) Hopwood - Matter Inst Flocking record run by Russell Thornton - BMI Mass Rodeo run by Rod (rocket) Millner - BMI FFC and BMI course - BMCI's Greg Cox and Fergie Plus much more in the way of coaching and equipment info. So much energy has already gone into the boogie for free coaching, cheap jumps, making records, trialling equipment, seminar info, safety, and more making sure you get the best of everything on offer ultimately giving the best value for money you can get. A real focus will be put into this boogie as the seminar and training conference which will focus on where we are right now in wingsuiting, where do we want to go and how do we choose to get there? Subjects such as saftey, progression skills, competition types and rules (which will be used at the event), instructor ratings, all designed to help give a framework to what we all love doing. Plus we are having a wingsuit trade show! -
The hits just keep on coming!!! Fireworks by piro for new years eve. Trade show of the latest and greatest in wingsuits and skydive equipment, 4out of 5 wingsuit manufacturers confirmed. We have New Plane!!! An XL 750, very fast. So now we have a Skyvan, XL 750, Otta, Beaver and all the parts are in for the second skyvan!!!! This boogie is gonna rock... blue oysters rocket

Gday matt You guessed right, in an unrecoverable spin u cant bring your legs in. I got whipped into a spin so fast it was impossible to bring my legs in due to the speed. I had experienced a flat spin before and recovered using the ball up method, but this time I was stuffed! I was amazed and surprised that I wasnt able to bring my legs and thought Id better do something fast. In this case I raised an arm using all my strength into the direction i was spinning. This seemed to slow the speed of the spin down and combined with my whole body trying to turn over I was able to get back over. I was flying a skyflyer 3 prototype at the time. I havent been in a flatspin since so I cant say ive tested the technique but that was my experience at the time. Once I got to the ground the nerves and adrenalin kicked in big time! Rocket

The stuff that Mike Forsythe uses is much smaller, is good for five minutes after activation, and is actually really cheap to buy (like $300). Do you have any more details of what he uses and a website or other info on where we can get hold of it.

Sydney is beautiful this time of year, last we jumper everyday over the xmas boogie. Its hot, 28 to 35Celcius. Its a lil humid but not uncomfortable. On the Friday night is Comedy night with 3 comedians giving us their full performance after their first jumps that day. We'd all like to invite as many Northern hemisphere birdies as can make it. Jumping in Aus is fantastic, great people and especially the parties! It really is a great time of year and if you can make it you can spend as little or as much time going up the coast and seeing why this country is so much fun... And ultimately theres mores competitions, skill jumps and records all going up for grabs, thats y its the biggest! email me for more or specific info funnjumper@yahoo.com.au Rocket
