  3. You're a pretty sharp, articulate, and informed person, IMO. When I try to follow up with your references, it takes a long time. And, even then, it's over my head, sometimes. We are all engines of karma
  4. Agreed. While I understand the concerns concerning the effective execution of the global economy, and it's impact on us, if it's really that important, let others join in supporting it in material ways. We are all engines of karma

  6. I sit corrected Bottom line, many species on this planet not only have emotions, they also have free will, IMO. We are all engines of karma
  7. My boss is a big fan of Opera. Is Chrome java based? You might be able to program it yourself to block the adds. We are all engines of karma
  8. Yep. We are all engines of karma
  9. Exactly. The use of the phrase "human emotions" doesn't do this thread justice. We are all engines of karma
  10. For years, we always had squirrels raising their families in the trees around my house. Then, three years ago, we "adopted" a young tom cat from the local shelter. From day one, I knew he was a killer. I named him Stanislaw Ulam, the guy who made the hydrogen bomb work (...no offense to Mr. Ulam). For a while, Stanley ate baby squirrels on a regular basis. We no longer have squirrel families in my yard. Not only do they feel emotion, they take deliberate informed action. We are all engines of karma
  11. What do you think about this browser? I hear it's pretty good. We are all engines of karma
  12. Agreed. Even better. We are all engines of karma
  13. Thoughtful reply. We cannot, and should not, be the only country that pays for this. Other countries MUST step up and protect themselves, and pay to do so. Otherwise, it's time to start extracting serious vig from these folks. We've been giving it away for way too long now. We are all engines of karma
  14. There are times when the world needs a clear winner. The Neo-Cons (pew!) tried, but weren't fully committed to making that happen. There is going to come a time where OUR COUNTRY needs to commit to being a clear winner in the world. And I expect it's going to happen sooner rather than later. It's going to be vitally important that OUR COUNTRY stands as one when that happens. We are all engines of karma
  15. Exactly. We continue to support what I call "their welfare states". Real life doesn't work that way. We are all engines of karma
  16. Yep, and yall actually paid us back. I don't believe any other of our "allies" has actually done that. We are all engines of karma
  17. I believe this thread is discussing foreign countries. We are all engines of karma
  18. Ah, when's the last time you saw your 3 capital ships? We call it fleet week over here. We are all engines of karma
  19. Uhm, correct if I'm wrong here. But, aren't you a retired doughnut eating cop who thinks pellet rifles count as real guns? We are all engines of karma
  20. You sound like a guilty liberal, sometimes. We are all engines of karma
  21. I'm curious, bill. How do you define diplomacy? We are all engines of karma
  22. Yes, that is a good point. But, THEY should be paying for this. Not us. Allies? European democracies have become a welfare basket because WE pay for their defense. Time for them to step up. Well, what about the reputation of those folks we're protecting? It is really time for them to step up to the plate. We are all engines of karma
