I am currently working on an A license and only have 17 jumps. Rather than pay for rentals I feel that even though I am inexperienced that buying my own rig is very economical. However I at a loss for choosing the equipment. As for the main canopy: I am have been jumping a 220 and have no problems with the speed or the landing. My instructor recommended a Spectre 210 as my first canopy which would give me about a 1.0 wing load since I way 175. Any suggestions? Also what about reserves, should I stay within the same size? And now containers, any recomendations? I would like to buy used since this is my first rig but I might be jumping the rig for a while so I would like a happy medium. Could I go down to a 190 without any problems? No offense to anyone but please respond only if you are a class C or higher jumper.
