Dove, it is great to hear that you are in good spirits. even better to hear that there are some people taking great care of you. These are the times you find your true friends..... I hope that "all" you did was break the bone. Whatever it is, just get it healed and get back in the air....... Keep your chin up and keep smiling.......

I could not agree with you more. Thankfully there are very good options these days when it comes to fat-free tofu. The body will also digest that much faster. The digestive track in a human body was never really "designed" to handle meat. Early man was not a meat eater and we have not been around enough for our bodies to evolve to adapt to this change. hence meat is digested by staying in the stomach and rot.... true, however, if you eat less, the body goes into starvation mode. Meanign it stores everything you eat. it is not getting much nutrition and hance the body is preparing for "leaner" times. This lifestyle allows me to eat as much as I want, when I want etc etc. The trick is not in how much you eat, it is in what you eat....... Disclaimer: These are just my beliefs and I know that the majority of people on these forums will disagree with me

yeah, and never mind all of that.....it is amazing how much better I feel not smoking and living a somewhat healthy life. Things taste better, feel better, sex is better and yes Jessica, vegetarian women absolutely taste better....... Why do we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway? Why is there a lock on the door of the 24/7 corner store? If you aim to fail, but succeed, did you fail or did you succeed? "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa

thanks.... I still work out 5 to 6 times a week. Mostly combination of weights and cardio. No heavy lifting for me, just soem regular weights work, trying to get this flabby body somewhat toned

and that is when the whole story made sense......... j/k

So do I, well used to anyways. The problem is that now that I do not eat meat anymore, my body has lost the enzymes it needs to digest it. Hence, when I do eat a slice form time to time, I pay for it by not sleeping for a night because I am in pain. I think I have learned now and just stay away from it....... I don't want to offend anyone, but for me it has nothing to do with animal rights etc etc. I have lived my life eating loads of meat, cheese, eggs etc. But I have also been about 30 to 40 lbs overweight for pretty much all my life, while smoking at elast a pack a day. To make a long story short, I ended up in the hospital last eyar with some bacterial infection and decided that I qould quit smoking, which I did cold turkey. Naturally withing a week I had gained another 5 lbs from eating anything and everything I could lay my hands on. I knew I needed to do somethign and ended up reading a book by Dr. Dean Ornish. His lifestyle includes a basically fat-free diet, meaning that in general no more than 10% of your calories should come from fat. The onyl way to attain that is by not eating any animal products, since they tend to be high in fat, or at least high in calories from fat. I have been doing this (though I slip from time to time) for just over a year now. I don't smoke anymore, lost roughly 30 Lbs at the same time and have never had amore energy or have I felt better. That is why I eat like I eat..... On a side note, for those interested. The Ornish lifestyle has been proven to reduce and repair the effects of heart disease. It has also been proven to be an extremely successful option for people requiring angioplasty. resulting in most heart patients to be able to not have that operation done and be able to life without talking loads of medication. It is actually so successful that most major insurance companies now reccomend it over the surgery.... And yes, I do still sometimes slip off the wagon and eat my cheese (usually the fat-free kind) or have some hot chocolate milk etc etc..... I am just wondering what in your opinion is wrong with STI. I did my first 4 SL jumps there. Personally I wouldn't mind going back there, but it is just way too far for me to drive, and there are options closer ot home. Actually I am getting closer and closer to being a vegan. Not eating animal products allowed me to actually lose 30 lbs after I quit smoking.....wich in turn allowed me to jump out off planes..... SkyDekker PS. I am sure there will be even more flaming now

I am not quite sure what you mean by that? Actually, I just started thinking about the possibility of doing AFF in the states. The problem with Skydive Burnaby for me is, they require payment in two installments. One installment you pay before the first half of teh course, the second you pay befoer you can start the second half of the course. Normally I would not have a problem with this, however I could get transfered on a weeks notice. I don't want to be in a situation where I want to go back to them and try and get some money back cauz I am only 1 jump into it or some scenario like that. The same somewhat goes for going to the states, since I am sure I cannot proceed with a US AFF program in Canada.... Ohh well, we'll just have to see what thesituation is come April/May. Thsi whole conversation may be for nothing since I may be in Ottawa or anywhere else in Canada... "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa

One more reason I like being a vegetarian...... Let the flaming begin....

yeah I have actually been in contact with two DZO's od DZs close ot me (Burnaby and SWOOP for those interested) and I have visited and spend some time on both those DZs. There is a St. Catharines Skydiving Club, but they jump from the Burnaby DZ and I am still not sure wat the difference between the two is. I am trying to find a place where I obviously can get good and safe instruction, but due to taxes etc in Canada, the US is actually cheaper for me, even with the current exchange rates. Just hoping for some advice from all you guys and find out what the possibilities are and if a US A license would allow me to jump on Canadian Dzs or if I can use it to apply for a Cnadian license. I am not looking for a home dz, just because I know I am not going to live in this area much longer. Actually I am fairly sure I will not see the end of the year in this area.... I particularly like how he has a picture on his site with his ex-gf blacked out. He apologizes for the pic, but said he put it on teh site anyways because he looks good in it..... Sounds to me like this guy is a couple of fries short of a happy meal...... SkyDekker "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa

I am just outside St. Catharines.... Close to Niagara Falls and Queenston/Lewiston..... "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa

It has been really warm for the time of year here in the Niagara Region of Canada. Bad for ice wine production, good for people

One of my options, as a Canadian close to the US border, is to do my AFF progression in the States. The DZ closes to me in the US (and actually closer to me than most Canadian DZs) is Frontier Skydiving. Just wanted to know is anyone on here is familiar with them (I know Andyman is) and what there thoughts are. Thanks, SkyDekker "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa

***the DZ with the AFF program is probably a USPA affiliate. The one with the PFF will be a CSPA DZ[/quote} Actually, the DZ offering the AFF program is affiliated with both organization. At least that is what I understand from their website. If I get an US a license, would that allow me to jump on any of the canadian DZs? After my 4 SL jumps this summer, I ahve decided to save some money and go do AFF or PFF at one of the local dropzones on or near the Niagara Peninsula here in the great white north, Canada. I ahve found one DZ with an AFF program identical to the US AFF program. Then there is one DZ with a PFF program requiring 2 IAD jumps prior to doing their program. My question however is: What are the (a?) license requirements in Canada. After graduating from AFF, what would I have to do to get a license? Thanks, SkyDekker "We cannot do great things, only small things with great love" Mother Theresa
