  1. two quick posts, did you get your daily email update John?
  2. Or would that be because Bush used that as his main and almost sole argument to go into Iraq?
  3. I am not quite sure why you are asking me this. I was just responding to some one asking if there are any other companies that can do the work Haliburton does. For some reason many people think that all the work done by Haliburton can only be done by Haliburton. I wonder where they got that idea?
  4. I didn't see you posting this when US fans booed the Canadian anthem, just as they were burying the bodies of Canadian soldiers bombed by a US jet. It is despicable when this happens, I agree with you on that. I don't agree with your implication that we should be more civil to the US than the US needs to be civil to us. And it is not only Canadian public officials that are calling your president a moron.
  5. I would like to think there are more companies in the US and UK who can build latrines and make food for the troops.
  6. I personally think that any booing of an anthem or similar actions are disgraceful. stems from my time in Europe and the constant booing of anthems at every soccer game. I don't think anyone is turning the issue around, just showing that not only Canadians do this to the US anthem, but that the reverse has happened as well.
  7. maybe if she promises to believe in God she can go to the volunteer run prison in Florida.
  8. Except when it is Iraq, then all of a sudden it is your job to stop it. Or was it because of WMDs, or was it because he was a bad man, or was it because he was linked to 9/11, which is the excuse-du-jour?
  9. personally I think we should give them to the US Sorry Remi
  10. Unfortunately I agree, doesn't seem to happen at NHL games in the other cities. I think it is a disgrace.
  11. I understand that the term of the mortgage is fixed, but is the interest rate fixed for the entire term of the mortgage as well. Will the rate not change for the entire 30 years of the mortgage? well, look at that, another difference between US and Canada. I stand corrected.
  12. Then why aren't you invading Saudi Arabia?
  13. How was this a threat to the US? Iraq had no capability to strike within the US, other than to support a terrorist group to do it from within. On the latter it would look like Saudi Arabia is much better at doing that.
  14. I don't think there are many people with a fixed rate for the entire term of their mortgage.
  15. And if I am his neighbour and your stray bullets end up killing my whole family. I think I might be persuaded to pick up a gun or two and try and kill some one.
  16. And how was Iraq threatening the US? How come you did not invade Saudi Arabia?
  17. I think that in general (yes I know there are exception to every rule) when a young child commits a heinous crime, there are deeper lying problems that need to be found. Just scratching the surface and putting the kid in jail doens't better the situation.
  18. What does Iraq have to do with the Twin Towers?
  19. I am not drawing any lines, but a violent dictator could easily us ethat same line to justify killing some political opponents.
  20. 20 to 30 years ago, that is exactly what one parent did.
  21. Very true, compounding the problem is that money is currently so cheap that many people are leveraging themselves into eternity. When the interest rates go up, it is not only the mortgage people have to worry about. It is also the car loans, payments on the lines of creadits and loans made for home improvements, big screen tvs, vacations etc. The next 5 to 10 years could prove to be devestating for many people who think they are living the highlife on borrowed money right now.
  22. Please understand that I am not taking a stab at you personally but I have to ask. Is it really a problem with the media, or is it a problem due to parents spending less and less time with their children (regardless of reason)?
  23. I wasn't asked to respond, but will anyways The problem with every law or regulation or statement is that there is an acception to every rule. The law is in place to prevent the exploitation of children on one hand. On the other hand, the law is in place to emphasize that generally when a kid under 12 commits a heinous crime, there are likely to be other problems. Problems that are probably more important to deal with than just the child. I personally believe that the age limit could be lowered somewhat. It seems that children are becoming more and more mature at an earlier age. However, I do believe in the underlying thoughts of the law.
  24. You do want to think a couple of years ahead though. When interest rates start to rise, the value of your house will start to decrease. The next time your mortgage comes due, your payments will be quite a bit higher. You may want to think about what you can afford in that light as well.
  25. Congratulations Wendy and Chris!!!!!!
