Her comment makes it obvious (to me) that she doesn't understand the legal issue. That's all I'll say as I'll be damned if I help them. -

I just don't think the law has caught up with the times, as drones for personal use is a relatively new technology. That said, there needs to be limits on drone use as it pertains to invasion of personal property. People are going to have to contact their representatives in congress and get something passed that will give them defensive recourse against drone flyers. You each make good points. That said, I do agree that the state of the law needs to catch up with the current state of the technology & its rapidly-evolving use.

Just throwing this out there: is it possible the current landing characteristics of your PD 190 are, at least partly, affected by the age/permeability of the fabric? How well does it flare anymore? Also, if the Unit - which is what, 30 - 35 years old? - has been well-jumped, wouldn't fabric permeability be an issue with that one, too? And if it's one of the 200 sq ft canopies, would that land much slower than your 190? Again, these are just questions, and I'm sure as heck not a rigger. I'm humbly open-minded to learning.

Hopefully this will encourage you: Bush 41: ‘Who knew jumping out of planes was safer than getting out of bed?’ (As many know, Bush made celebratory skydives on his 70th, 80th & 90th birthdays. Oh, and he made his first jump at age 20. I'm pretty sure it was a water jump.) -

Change "certainly" to "hopefully, in writing, in detail, for the lawyers' own sakes". My experience is that when people with "that kind" of personality lose a dispute, they look for somebody to blame (never themselves), and then act it out as a way of mitigating their loss. That's why lawyers carry malpractice insurance. -

I doubt you're really Vegan. Your star system is very young, and its planetary accretions are unlikely to have matured sufficiently to have evolved sentient life, much less with advanced technology. What, you think we're stupid?

I wasn't addressing Turtle's point, I was addressing yours. I don't think it necessarily puts us in debt, but I do think it functionally equates to giving them money.

You aren't giving them any money. The reduction of economic sanctions is the functional equivalent. And it really kicks in immediately, before they ever earn an extra Euro from it, for it instantly makes them more credit-worthy, thereby giving them immediate access to financing.

I've been around long enough to remember the US militarists and their redneck, Nixon-voting toadies saying the same thing about Southeast Asia. There's a lesson in that. Couple of 'em, actually, if you squint. -
There are about 9 million African-Americans in the US who, thanks largely to the way the Confederate flag has been co-opted by certain white racists as a symbol of their racism, feel viscerally about the Confederate flag just as, say, Jews feel about the Swastika, a 1,000 year-old symbol that was co-opted by the Nazis. So while it might be rational for you to wish, for ethically sound reasons, for people to get over it, that's simply not going to happen, at least probably not in your or my lifetime.

Whether or not to show Dukes of Hazzard is a grey area, subject to reasonable discussion points on either side. Whether to show the Cosby Show is simply a clear No. To me, it's not even close. Just, fuck no.
