PULEEEEEZE, Stop, One and all. I cannot believe all this senseless drivel and carrying on about a movie that, at best, could be considered mediocre.
The only redeeming value in this movie is the performance by two screen greats: James Garner and Gena Rowlands. As far as the rest of the movie is concerned:
The plot is overused and quite predictible. Proof that Hollywood has run out of original ideas a long, long time ago.
Rachel McAdams' performance was *terribly* average (can't get her "Mean Girls" character out of my head).
Ryan Gosling's performance is so stilted that it leads me to believe that he could not act his way out of a paper bag if his life depended on it.
And for all you droning on about a man keeping his promise...
What about Allie being engaged to Lon yet sleeping with Noah? Tsk, tsk. Are only men required to keep their promises? Apparently so...
