    Well... This is a source of conflict for me. I grew up in Western Maryland and was taught to pronounce some things differently. Such as the word measure. My husband taught me that the correct way to say it was so that it sounds like like the word treasure. He also spent many years helping me over come my regional dialect. He took the farm out of the girl. : ( Ever see "My Fair Lady"? I wasn't as bad as Eliza, but between years of speech therapy to rid me of a southern accent that I picked up from my grandmother and the corrections from my husband, I can now speak with eloquence. It is difficult though to be corrected constantly. For instance, if I say measure incorrectly, he will pretend he has no fucking clue what I mean. Like I used the word scrabbledabble in place of the word measure. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
