Just trying to be helpful...don't want anyone needlessly getting killed for not following orders from a guy with a gun in his hands. Tall buildings are a killer. I've seen someone pull a Peter Pan off the Williams Tower in Houston several years back. As Hook would say..."Bad Form"

This should be a warning to you...if officers who have their weapons drawn order you to keep you hands up...you better damn well do so, you could end up dead.

He didn't look suicidal to me. Seemed to be calm, wasn't wacked out...so I think he was nothing more than a dumb ass.

Looks like democracy in action...freedom of expression, its a good thing right?

Next reforms is gonna be the cops. Police goes nuts on little kids.
Channman replied to stayhigh's topic in Speakers Corner
Getting into this REAL LATE...but yes, I think the COP had to pull his gun. When trying to detain the girl two teenagers begin to close in on him even after being told to stand back. What was he suppose to do, allow them to intervene, maybe even assault him? I think he tried to manage a scene where dozen of teens, many outside of the community were fighting before he received backup. But hell, I suppose pulling his gun to protect himself was out of line. Maybe being assaulted by two teens was more appropriate. -
By all means, let's give ISIL OR ISIS, or whatever they go by this hour, a nice reason to escalate the violence and evil. I think ISIS needs no excuse for escalating the violence...its their very nature to do so. A Christian fighting against this evil did what you find horrid...but neither of us have walked a mile in his shoes. War is a terrible thing, never have I personally lived it...but I can understand how it can cause one to do things they otherwise would have never considered. I suppose living and fighting and seeing what ISIS does to his people, finally tipped him over the edge to do the same.

> "dumb as dirt and proud of it religious conservatives..." This term seems to be a recurring theme...where do I typically see this type of statement??? Politicususa.com Real Liberal Politics Their dislike for Religion or primarily Religious / Conservatives is very well documented...most of what can be read on this site comes across in most of your post. Small example: "Americans are not unintelligent, but a fair proportion of them are dirt stupid;..." The article was a rant on Conservative and their methods to control the masses. "Americans are not unintelligent, but a fair proportion of them are dirt stupid;

No... you can't. Many of them never get a chance to a decent education.... and that applies to white and black... as any trip thru the backroads of the rural south will show in a hot minute. But many have been given the chance to a decent education, food programs, living expenses....my only point to Kallend was the outcome. Has the outcome been decision based not just in regards to Health Care? People tend to make decisions based on economic factors, yes I would like to have insurance but can I afford it? There was this dude that once said, "Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government" and another dude had this to say, "the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it."
-
> "Nonsense. He CHOSE this outcome. Now he regrets his stupidity." Can we not apply this to the POOR i.e. the millions of Welfare recipients we have spent billions on to lift out of poverty?

In my defense, it was the people that were cursing, that is why I put it in quotes....OK, I just made that part up, I said the bad words http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/info-STIMULUS0903.html

>"The guy got fucked over by the Republican Party and still blames the Democrats." Typical response from a Lib...much like the liberal media asking the speaker why the republicans don't care about the little people who ride on trains and where is all the funding. Or simply out of conveyance not indicate how the engineer pulled a play from Hillary Clinton, "Can't Remember" defense, going more than twice the speed limit around a curve. If the people i.e. critic's could only pull their collective heads out of the Democrat's butt and ask a simple question...,"what the FUCK did you do with the 860 plus Billion WE the people gave you for those so called shovel ready jobs ASS-HOLE"???? Someone expresses a reasoned opinion on any matter especially involving the judgment of it value, and your play is to blame it on Republicans. Your becoming very predictable.

2 Gunmen killed outside Muhammad cartoon drawing contest event
Channman replied to Driver1's topic in Speakers Corner
This would have never happened if it was cartoon drawing contest about Jesus, urine and elephant dung, I'm sure it would never have rated enough response to end up on DZ.COM. -
Speakers Corner and Divisiveness in general explained
Channman replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I hope that happens too. Unfortunately, it looks like saying you hate gays can get you $300,000 without having to bake a single pie. I think the $300,000 was in response to the death threats, and over blown outrage. Her statement might be offensive, but how many of us here on this blog deal with offensive statements from other posters. I've been guilty of it myself, but we have a policing system on the most part that tries to be fair, in the end we are allowed to rejoin the community after we have served our time in the corner...and life goes on. http://www.slate.com/blogs/saletan/2014/03/07/gay_marriage_and_religious_freedom_don_t_stereotype_the_christian_wedding.html -
> who'll give them extra business for being bigots Is it possible, that the Gay community might themselves be Bigoted and or Christian phobic...should this behavior be more protected than the other? Secular Progressives, a few who might visit and post from time to time on DZ.Com might hold or do hold that Christian's are free to live out their faith, vote their faith, take a stand in relation to their faith as long as it can be privately engaging, other wise it should remain socially irrelevant. However this is not a practice they themselves are held to. The statement, "....,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..." seems in this case to be prohibitive. The reporter had to go out of her way to entrap one women naïve enough to think she was exercising a freedom only to be subjected to Death treats, hate speech from what appears to be from a large group of supposedly outraged individuals who themselves suffer from a different form of Bigotry.

Supreme Court turns away challenge to Wisconsin voter ID law
Channman replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
yep I rest my case. Marc made my list of blocked posters long ago when I tried to answer back to one of his PM's and I got the "This user is not accepting PM's from you message." But I guess truth in "The Rest of the Story" would not matter to you would it. Just like I am not a big fan of posting PM's in public since that usually falls under the... "Take it to PM's" mantra. But please remember, I do subscribe to do unto others as they have done unto you since it was evident long ago that the cyber bullies here would never follow the correct interpretation of that Matthew 7:12 passage. Nor should we forget the correct interpretation of that Matthew 7:1 passage. But I think we have spent a lot of time here hijacking the original topic. So what do you think about said topic? -

U of OK fraternity: "So tonight we're gonna party like it's 1959"

As of now, two of the song ringleaders have been expelled. More to come... OU does not want the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division civil rights attorney to hit them too hard since they receive Title IV federal funding which is tied to a non-discrimination policy. The Rev Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are soon to be shaking down the University for protection money. The OU will be in their pockets...it's only a matter of time. -
Broke multiple laws no problem 3 years free tax refunds
Channman replied to Anvilbrother's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, they pay the same taxes on typical consumer goods and services that most everybody else does. No, it's unlikely they pay income taxes on their pay for picking the produce on your plate, for which they almost certainly get paid below minimum wage. And if you're worried about how much in tax revenue goes uncollected for that, compare it to the fact that most of the income earned by the wealthiest people in the US is taxed not as ordinary income (like yours or mine), but at the bargain-basement 15% rate for capital gains. How much is lost by not taxing that shit as ordinary income? Look at the big picture. >"...bargain-basement 15% rate for capital gains." Capital gains are not a bad thing. I have a 401K account, Roth IRA, stocks, and some property. I hope to enjoy the same tax rate as those with larger assets than myself when I sell some of my property. I think the issue is, the wealthy in many cases are selling an asset which generates an income stream and having only to pay 15%. Millions of American's receive their income from wages or (Ordinary Income) which can be taxed at a higher rates. I don't see that being unfair, I see it as an opportunity to mirror the habits of the wealthy as best one can and reap the rewards. -
Its possible he hold similar views as those who have command of said button.

I just listened to it on talk radio. My understanding there were dems present on the floor and they clapped/and stood to their feet often in agreement. The white house reaction on the other hand was shocking. Susan Rice saying the speech, "It's destructive to the fabric of the relationship". At least Democratic Congressman Menendez took a pretty hard shot at Susan Rice condemning her remarks. He also made it a point to escort the Prime Minister to the House Chamber.

Seriously? As a father of a child that has hearing issues, that aren't at all due to genetics or inbreeding (if you would like to argue that, I can refer you to a world class geneticist at Gillette's), your comments are completely uncalled for, intolerant, and hateful, among a number of other things. I personally think your posts are full of vitrol, and have no value or purpose on this forum. Both my mother in-law and father in-law are profoundly deaf. Sign language was my wife's first language. Mother in law lost her hearing at 3 due to scarlet fever, my father in law due to nerve damage from shelling in WWII. mpohl should turn down the hate. Not sure why there hasn't been a warning issued??????
