Here in Texas, I think there would have been a very good chance this kid would have been killed for pulling a stunt like that. The police office in the video does however have the Texas quick draw down, lucky he had restraint on his trigger finger.

I guess Trayvon would be alive today if he just called the police himself Vs taking matters into his own hands. Such a tragic event, his death was avoidable if he had only ran from trouble Vs getting into it.

If you work for a corporation, that corporation's payroll can be seized by the government without due process. The corporations asset can be seized. The corporation can be nationalized. AT&T's phone records? They can be seized. And without recourse because, as McGovern said, "all corporate entities...are not people with constitutional rights." Who does that include? How about NBC, CBS and CNN? Your health insurance? Yep, you're going to be forced to buy health insurance from a company that has no legal protections. Corporations are SO bad that we want to make sure you all buy health insurance from them. So, who here is in favor of loosening rights? I'm very surprized that there has been very little discussion on your topic. I guess we are more involved with the Travon Martins of the world to discuss this topic which I believe is far more important.

NBPP's Bounty is up to more than $26,000.00 I hear going into our second week of where's George. No word from our President, Justice Department, FBI, Homeland Security, the Media or the NFL concerning this BOUNTY on a US Citizen. With more than 5,000 willing kidnappers patroling the area looking to cash in you would think you could get a little update as to their efforts. Hell, Spike Lee has made every effort to help in the cause, by tweeting the address of an elderly couple, who now has been forced into hiding in fear of their lives. It is however comforting that at least here in Speaker Corner we are discussing the more important issues of the case using our highly developed CSI skills.

I think I can imagine it...hell there would be FBI SWAT Teams moving in on the Right-Wing militia groups with Eric Holder performing a press conference with real time video of the whities being pulled out of their compounds with sleeveless JESUS LOVES YOU T-Shirts on. Much like the media or this thread, there is very little outrage of a terrorist organization (My Opinion)that can place a bounty on a US Citizen without so much a peep from Law Enforcement or from our President who has inserted himself on other occasions when it seemed politically expedient.

I'm jumping into this TREAD way late, and I have no idea if the topic of the "New Black Panters Party" placing a $10,000.00 bounty on a US Citizen, who has not been arrested, or currently charged with a crime has not seen a great deal of coverage in the media. Not even the Police, FBI, Justice Department to my knowledge have even investigated this group that has placed this bounty on a private citizen. The Black Panthers say they have over 5,000 black men out actively seeking the capture of George Zimmerman so he can be brought to justice. Is the capture of a private citizen, by a group/organization considered Kidnapping? Is placing a Bounty on a US citizen by a group calling themselves the New Black Panthers Party legal? Is the New Black Panthers Party a terrorist organization? Eric Holder was not inclined to investigate Black Panther Voter Intimidation back in 2008, is it possible he will insert himself and investigate this bounty on a private citizen. He can always consult with the NFL on how to handle such matters.

Gallup Underemployment, a measure that combines the percentage of workers who are unemployed with the percentage working part time but wanting full time work, is 18.4% in mid-December, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment. This is up slightly from 18.1% at the end of November and similar to the 18.5% of a year ago. Gallup, which unlike the BLS, does not fudge it numbers...well at least that what they tell you.
