  1. > And a one party system isn't very good for the US I think there are many here that would disagree. If the Dem's controlled all (3) branches of the Government Vs the Rep's would we see a more prosperous, enlightened America. Who has the better ideas? What would America look like if all the conservatives just packed up and went home and left our country in the hands of the well educated, enlightened, compassionate, concerned, inclusive, tolerant and liberated liberal minded men and women? It would be interesting to hear that discussion.
  2. This coming from someone who just a little while ago inferred that the government has gone wild and has breached the boundaries set forth in the constitution?!? You sound like one of the right wingnuts who are afraid of their blessed guns being taken away, who scream "down with the government" and "cut everything, as long as I still get my medicare, defense contracts, and nuclear missiles." Don't call me the extreme one here... I'm not trying to make the government so small that I can drown it in a bathtub. Reading your post is somewhat frustrating. Stop living in fear man. Get a hold of yourself, and put on your big boy pants. If you get the boot, there are millions of your fellow countrymen that are waiting to greet you in the unemployment line. You will be welcomed there with open arms.
  3. How it come across if someone said that they think you ought to not have your job, that half of the people at your company should just be fired because you don't agree with the way it does business, consequences be damned? Not very nice, I'd say. I already went through a 100% cut from the Fed...back in Sept. 2010. There is a life after the Government, and I'ts a far better life in terms of money. But I was very blessed to have good connections and some mad skills, that I picked up along the way.
  4. OOPSEY...my public education raised its ugly head. Read the F...ing question comes to mind.
  5. I'm getting into this discussion way late. At 3% you roughly double your money every 24 years. So it would take you 48 years to have roughly $48,000.00.
  6. If left in the trunk of the car...who is tasked with firing the Corner for his potential dumb ass statements concerning Long Rifle wounds?
  7. > Look to the folks in the legislature who took the money and didn't pay it back Quit voting for em...then. Hell you have Dead Fish Rahm Emanuel as a perfect example of why voters get what they deserve. But with that said every state in the Union is F'ed Up with a rough total of about 2.8 Trillion in pension liabilities. California #1 at roughly $617 Billion in unpaid pension liabilities. New York is #2 w/ 300 Billion Texas #3 w/ 286 Billion Illinois #4 w/ 271 Billion
  8. My guess is the 49% is not made up by Democrats only, I would think that number has gotten that High because a lot of Republicans are not happy as well. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, and America has truly embraced Obama's policies and his vision for its future. Maybe we can spend and tax our way back to prosperity.
  9. Well this is tragic, unfortunate its not uncommon. My wife and I are just about empty nesters...wtih another daughter being married off in two months. But now in my early 50's, my wife and I several months ago received my nephew’s 2 month old son and 11 year old daughter through the Child Protective Services. My nephew is a Meth addict as well...been in and out of prison, since the age of 18 and has very few of his teeth left an still can't kick it. His older brother a little over a year ago was finally able to kick his addiction by placing a 45 Cal. round through his head. We have poured our lives, money, time into these boys with the hope they would somehow make a change. I don't know the answer...other than turning one’s life over to the Lord. But even that doesn't seem to be an avenue for my nephew you has done little if anything to improve his ability to have his kids returned to him. Sadly I see a 28 year old BOY, with very few years left on this earth. If you find an answer send it my way.
  10. I'm aware of the intercept in reference to the Doc and family. If my memory serves me correctly, it was an F4 that was creeping up on the aircraft in IMC conditions to identify its N number when the collision occurred. There was no contact with the pilot at the time and that is why Center requested a intercept. I believe the Pilot did not file an ICAO flight Plan and busted the US ADIZ Boundary without a proper flight plan and or being in contact with Air Traffic Control. But I could be wrong and will look up this incident for the facts.
  11. What's disturbing is the request to shoot him down. I wonder what the out come and or cover up would have been if that had occurred.
  12. I know we both are poking fun at this event...but somehow it wouldn't surprize me if we see this poor women and her children in court. Hell if this had happened in New York, she would been placed in jail. Her in Texas, we would be planning a parade in her behalf.
  13. Damn, HE LIVED!!! give it sometime, a lib will bring a suit against her and her homeowner's policy and demand millions for pain and suffering. Hell, there is a chance they might seek jail time for this mother for being an evil racist.
  14. Ya And to think they also have a projected 8 billion dollar surplus in the state budget I think that is unfair and the feds should go get some of it and send it to CA The sad thing is, they are already fighting over how to spend it. Damn, politician, you would think they would set it aside for the tough years and or refund Texan tax payer for the over charge.
  15. If your ever lucky enough to have one in your pocket and your purchased a Hamberger for $2.50 with Fries at $1.25 and a Large 32 OZ. drink for $2.50 how much change would you be getting back? Second part of my question...How many people would you need to help you carry the change back to your car(s).
  16. Well, the majority of American's have spoken...Tax increases are what they want...on the 1 percenters, never crossed their little minds that they too would be required to pony up more. “What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up?” a poster wrote on the liberal site DemocraticUnderground.com. “My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over 400 grand. What happened?” Shocker. Democrats who supported the president’s re-election just had NO idea that his steadfast pledge to raise taxes meant that he was really going to raise taxes. They thought he planned to just hit those filthy “1 percenters,” you know, the ones who earned fortunes through their inventiveness and hard work. They thought the free ride would continue forever. 17. > I can just as easily say that we should eliminate hearts because heart attacks are a huge cause of death, but that's also BS. Well I for one am glad you feel this way...after just having mine rebuilt at a cost of more than $120,000.00 it would be a damn shame to have to turn it in.
  18. Just thinking out loud here, but is there a method to determine how many of these murders were gang related? Also if an individual uses a handgun to protect themselves during a robbery attempt and kills to bad guy...are those killing part of the total number referenced in the data?
  19. Well there is this news: Wall Street Journal "Social Security, which pays retirement and disability benefits to 56 million Americans, will exhaust its reserves by 2033, three years sooner than previously estimated, a new government report said Monday."... "The trustees who oversee Social Security's two trust funds—one for disability benefits, the other for retirees—said reserves for the fund that pays disability benefits would be exhausted by 2016, two years earlier than projected last year. And if the disability fund were combined with the larger fund that pays retiree benefits, all reserves would be exhausted by 2033, three years sooner than projected last year." "Based on this week's report from the folks responsible for the Medicare and Social Security Trust Funds, Americans -- and especially those under age 40 -- need to reconsider their retirement plans." So...it appears, having your SS dollars pulled from your paycheck every month is funding a ponzi scheme. Don't be a SUCKER like us old folks, get out while you can...save yourselve.
  20. I never watch that crap...however that there was damn funny. I think that sums up many of our political leader/media.
  21. We need to realize that we are relegating ourselves to the position of sheep in our society. If this continues we will have no right to complain about being treated like sheep: the lucky ones spend their entire life being herded and (literally) fleeced, the unlucky ones are sent helplessly to slaughter. While the phrase above is often spoken tongue-in-cheek to criticize police officers, there is some unavoidable truth in the statement. The response time of emergency personnel of ANY variety (police, fire, EMS) is measured in minutes. I'm a volunteer firefighter and paramedic, so I know this. We as individuals NEED to be able to take care of ourselves until the "good guys" can get to us. In EMS, this means knowing CPR and how to use an AED, or how to help a choking child or adult. In fire prevention, this means having a good escape route and accessible fire extinguishers in your house. And, for police issues, this means being EQUIPPED and KNOWLEDGEABLE enough to defend yourself until they can arrive. Just as in a fire, a safe escape route and good barriers (like good locks on our doors, and an alarm system) are part of the equation. As stressed above, for the properly trained and armed citizen, firearms can be part of the solution as well. Each of us needs to decide for ourselves what our plan will be, and to evaluate our plan with a very critical eye: the lives at stake will be our own and the ones we most love. Elvisio "2nd amendment moderate, a dying breed" Rodriguez EDIT: Sig line superfluity Some really smart and Brave men in our past had this to say: " I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason "And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the Press, or the rights of Conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms..." Samuel Adams "Firearms stand next in importance to the Constituition itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence...from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable...the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good." George Washinton
  22. I'll have to do some digging to see if in fact it was early 1980's. I remember the 1990's because that is when the big push to ban rifles with large capacity magizines was being discussed which resulted in a Ban on such weapons in 1994. I have this issue with the Liberals that the first thing out of their months is to Ban "Assault Weapons". Where in the hell have they been for the past year. Chicago has been averaging more murders than Newtown every month this year. Currently I think the rate is roughly 41 murders per month and is expected to reach a total of 500 this year alone. The majority of these killings are taking place in poor black neighborhoods. Not a word from Reverend Jackson or Sharpton, nor have we heared anything from the anti-gun media that we're starting to hear from now. There has to be a reason, and its purly political. Not a word, as long as its Black on Black crime.
