Speaking of bets, recall this and I found it. "We refused to throw in the towel and do nothing. We refused to let Detroit go bankrupt. We bet on American workers and American ingenuity, and three years later, that bet is paying off in a big way." - President Obama, Oct. 2012 The best is paying off in a big way, is it? Well to be fair to Obama, it was an election year...and thus he is entitled to speak a Lie here and there.

What a dumb ASS statement, with all the black men that are killing one another in Chicago by the dozens last week and not so much of a peep from you.
-
I'd be surprised if anyone could objectively know what that is. Objectively, such a simple word yet so true with regards to this subject. Well coming up on 1700 post, I'm needing to dial it back abit and call it a day.

Mr. Zimmerman will need to consider moving to a new country and start a new life if possible. To remain in the states and try and begin a normal life is damn near impossible.
-
Saddly the DOJ is not finished with this guy if he is found Not Guilty. It's possible the feds will drum up a new charge and drag his ass right back into court until they get their 50 lbs of flesh.

I think if there are any riots in and around Sanford it will be from outsiders. I think the Police Chief and community have made every effort to ensure the community remains calm.
-
Fair enough...I understand your point(s).

that term was coined after the media made a fool of itself and said this was a white man killing a black man issue then they found out he was hispanic and if I remember correctly his mother is black Father is White, Mother Hispanic. Opposite for Obama, Mommy White, Daddy Black.
-
I just read that CNN once again during a News telecast refered to Zimmerman as a "White Hispanic" Does that make Obama a "White African American"?

And apparently there is a current politically driven thrust to get the CRS bullshit into the discussion, again with no thought about the actual evidence. Evidence such as official documents from the Justice Department? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2359517/Documents-Little-known-Justice-Department-unit-provided-support-protest-deployment-Florida-initial-Trayvon-Martin-unrest.html HawaiiReporter "The Community Relations Service provided “support for protest deployment” and “technical assistance” to event organizers for a march and rally on March 31. According to the Orlando Sentinel [3], Community Relations Service staff even helped organize a meeting between the city of Sanford and the local NAACP that resulted in the temporary resignation of police chief Bill Lee. One of the local pastors whose church was the focal point of protests aptly summarized the bias of Community Relations Service when she was quoted as saying that it was “there for us.” Apparently, it wasn’t “there” for Zimmerman." "On April 15, 2012, during the height of the protests, the Orlando Sentinel reported, “They [the CRS] helped set up a meeting between the local NAACP and elected officials that led to the temporary resignation of police Chief Bill Lee according to Turner Clayton, Seminole County chapter president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.” The paper quoted the Rev. Valarie Houston, pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church, a focal point for protesters, as saying “They were there for us,” after a March 20 meeting with CRS agents. Separately, in response to a Florida Sunshine Law request to the City of Sanford, Judicial Watch also obtained an audio recording of a “community meeting” held at Second Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sanford on April 19, 2012. The meeting, which led to the ouster of Sanford’s Police Chief Bill Lee, was scheduled after a group of college students calling themselves the “Dream Defenders” barricaded the entrance to the police department demanding Lee be fired. According to the Orlando Sentinel, DOJ employees with the CRS had arranged a 40-mile police escort for the students from Daytona Beach to Sanford." DanG, I can provide additional evidence if necessary.

Lesser charges are often included at the end in FL. Its just the way it works down here. The defense probably was prepping for it from day 1. They were prepping for the lesser charge of manslaughter because that's what they were told to expect the entire time and was confirmed again last night. At 730AM this morning the prosecution gave notice they were going to include a lesser charge of 3rd degree murder hinging on child abuse. They then had pages and pages of very detailed case law precedent. The defense was enraged (and rightfully so) because it was obvious that the state had been planning to make this move for quite some time and didnt properly let the defense know. This is a trick because it doesnt allow the defense time to properly defend itself. The bottom line is the state knows they dont stand a chance at convicting GZ for what he was charged and being tried with so they are scrambling like hell now to include lesser charges and ridiculous jury instructions in a hail mary catch all play. Well, I think this proves the whole case is Political...and with the DOJ sending in a team of Community Relations Service (CRS) personnel to train and organize protestors throughout Florida against Zimmerman and demand procecution gives us a glimps in how Zimmerman is being railroaded. There is an active attempt to get a conviction no matter the evidence, and these latest charges is just that.

rcmp confiscate guns from evacuated community
Channman replied to skypuppy's topic in Speakers Corner
Singing to the Choir...however you statement on other valuables is indeed interesting. I don't think they considered the looting of expensive jewelry, coins, or Hazardous Chemicals stored in or around one's property as a major concern. The confiscation of property deemed to be evil however is the primary reason for entering the home and pillaging through belongings to find such contraband. The ability to regain ownership will be costly and timely as designed. -
rcmp confiscate guns from evacuated community
Channman replied to skypuppy's topic in Speakers Corner
I'll call it for what it is "Bull Shit", "Proof of Ownership"...how long do you think it will take an owner of a gun that was handed down to them from a Grand Parent, or parent to show proof of ownership. Did the police inventory each weapon and address from which it was confiscated? Many of the papers, bill of sale could very well be destroyed in the flood waters. For those smart enough to have listed them on the Homeowners insurance with photographs maybe they will have an opportunity to retrieve their weapon. This was done to simply confiscate as many firearms as possible. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the police required fingerprints and DNA as additional requirements. That's my .02 cents. -
New a guy in High School who's last name was Fagg. Was common to yell out to him on occassion..."Hey Fagg, get your ass over here now." Looking back on it I'm sure if I were to run for Political Office I would be called on the carpet for such a statement that occurred over 30 years ago.

I didn't get an invitation to that party, but I would have attended, gladly. I was looking at your Avatar if that is what you call it...the Turtle with the clover. I never noticed the clover...if it had been a snake...well enough said.

It didn't pass for purely procedural reasons. I predict they'll pass it pretty soon, even if it means closing the gallery so protesters can't interfere. And it's a BS law. They pulled the same shit in Virginia, but they did it through the Board of Health instead of the legislature. The BOH decided that clinics that offer abortion needed to conform to the same building standards as full sized hospitals, which effectively shut them all down. Of course, they sold it as concern for the health of the mother, but it was just taking a backdoor to banning abortion without having the political power to do it through legitimate means. Texas is using the same tactic by requiring crazy hurdles for abortion doctors to meet before they can practice. Either way, it'll get struck down by the Feds. It will just waste everyone's time and money, and probably endanger a few hundred pregnant women in the meantime. Rick Perry had called them back into special session on July 1st to pass the bill. Presumably they need a few days to clean up confetti after they celebrate their 500th execution tonight. Blues, Dave Damn dude, celebrating the execution of a women that committed murder...I don't recall such a celebration. But justice was performed last night. Don't Mess with Texas.
-
Not if she wants to exercise her Constitutional right to have an abortion. Are you referencing the Bastardisation of our Constitution as in Roe Vs Wade and the Due Process Clause of the 14th?
-
>"...endanger a few hundred pregnant women in the meantime." Not sure how it endagers hundreds of pregnant women? Are there not Hospitals through out Texas that can help a women that is pregnant. These's very institutions provide survices to thousands of women that are pregnant every day.
-
>"Texas is using the same tactic by requiring crazy hurdles for abortion doctors to meet before they can practice." Texas is taking a page for the IRS play book...that page was so effective against Tea Party organizations, hell it should work with shuttng down Abortion Providers. Make em meet a higher standard, it only seems fair.

Syrian 'Rebels" Behead Man, Execute 2 Women
Channman replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
OK, I forced myself to watch it. I'll see if I can get some sleep tonight. I found the comments given at the end of the article to be interesting. I have a very dear friend who is serving his 3 tour in Afgan...but has a total of 7 deployments to a war zone in the past 11 years or so. I believe he mentioned this was his last and he was getting out. He is hoping he doesn't step on anything that might keep that from happening. -
You are the Juror. George Zimmerman trial
Channman replied to wayneflorida's topic in Speakers Corner
Is it possible the DA and others don't like the Stand your Ground law and therefore are bringing this case to trail to put the law and Zimmerman on trail and hopefully convict both. If Zimmerman is convicted, does it not imply you no longer have legal protection under the law to stand your ground. You become a victim in both cases. Zimmerman stood his ground only to live to see his possible conviction for doing so. -

That's an insulting assumption and I don't appreciate being labeled as a sheep. I don't trust the government any more than I trust any single MSM source or, for that matter, my ex-wife. Smart people get their information from a variety of sources, sift through the BS, and come to their own conclusions. Well at least CanuckInUSA didn't label you as a Racist....still brushing the sand off my shoes, gotta go, the NSA just called asking if I could provide CanuckInUSA contact info
