Last year I landed at the top landing area only twice out of 9 flights 7 of which were through the crack. This year so far I did 4 flights through the crack landing at the bottom landing area all 4 times and pulling super high over the middle of it. I was proximity flying the last little grass knoll as you exit the crack on the left side. I have no other way to judge the distance then using google earth and calculating my line through there. My flight is not a strait shot from the crack to landing zone. I do it in an arched turn :) I will be more then happy to fly with any of you who come over to europe. I will be here till Oct :) I am not in any competition with anyone. I am just flying and having fun. Playing with the GPS and looking at data trying to understand what it is saying :) When I say this suit is fast I am not comparing it to anyone else's flights but my own. Compared to the flights I was getting in my classic, skyflyers 1,2,3,4, Stealth, X wing, ghost, phantom 2, sugar glider, GSII and V1/V3 its faster for me. Not really to sure how it compares to what you guys are getting. But then again I am not competing with you guys :) I already know I am not the best nor am I the fastest. But I sure am having fun all the same... Jeb

Actually the flare slows me down. I was doing 120 in the dive to the crack and through it. When I do the flare and get the above 3 to 1 glide for the rest of the flight my forward speed slows down to the mid to hi 80s. Plus it's not just a flare and then stall out. It's a flare that then stays above 3 to 1 till I open :) The distance from the crack to the landing area is quite far :) The distance from where you leave the crack to where you open is .91 miles :)

I am flying two GPS systems and they both say the apache is a fast suit :) on the same jump one says I enter the crack at 135mph the other says I enter at 120mph (horizontal speed) :) I think I trust the flysight a bit more then my GPS goggles :) Flysight says 120mph :) But either way, it's very fast :) I did 4 flights through the crack over the last 3 days and all the flights have basically the same data. High speed entering the crack with slower speeds leaving the crack to landing area. There was zero wind to a slight head wind. Glides are in the 3.5 to 1 range from crack exit to opening :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9fPhUmt4rQ

Yuri is a way better wing-suit pilot then i am

I need to figure out how to get Paralog to work on my computer. It looks like it's much easier to read the data on that program
-
You can upload it for me
-
Sorry as I looked at the information closer the fly sight actually only went silent for 6.7 seconds and the peek of the glide was 3.28 to 1
-
Sorry, here is the attachment

I went to the web sight and couldn't figure out how to upload the data from my fly sight, so I just did a screen grab and attached it here. I don't know how to put the information from my alti track on my computer. I can only read it on the device. Sorry I have a mac and a lot of these programs seem to be made for a PC. But you are welcome to believe what ever you like

Apache X numbers from first jump after getting it fitted properly - Alti track = 35mph average fall rate, low speed 20mph, high speed 42mph, 3 minutes and 15 seconds FF time jumping from 12,000ft pulling at 2,000ft Flysight numbers = 2.5 to 1 average glide over whole jump. Made the flysight go silent for 10 seconds with a 3.25 to 1 glide without building speed in a dive... This was done in Perris CA and we fly a U shaped pattern. There were no upper winds to speak of and because of the U shaped pattern if we had wind we would have had it to the tail for a portion and then a head wind for a portion or it would have just been a cross wind for most of the flight. On the fly sight the glide stayed pretty much consistent from exit to pull time. I just jumped out and was going for max glide. The interesting thing was my arms didn't get tired. On my X Wing my arms would always get very tired when maxing out the suit for more then 2 minutes. Odd how little pressure there is on the arms when flying the apache... Jeb

No, actually I didn't say "die doing what you love". That was actually no where in my post. Not that I don't think dying doing something you love is a bad thing but it was not the point of my writing. The point of my post was that you will die no matter what you do. Even if you lock your self in an air tight room for 90 years or you are a ballerina, you will still die at some point. The real question isn't if you will die. The real question is what will you do with the limited time you have on this planet. Will you go out in the world and turn your dreams into realities or will you let fear control your fate? My post wasn't just about wing suit proximity flying. It was about life in general. We all have different dreams. I understand my dreams are some peoples nightmares. That doesn't mean they are better or worse then anyone else's. They are just mine... Jeb P.S. just because some comments are cliché doesn't mean they aren't still very true...

This is something we have considered

These things take time

The question isn't, is jokke going to die or even asking your self am I going to die. The real question is what are you going to do while you are alive. Are you going to spend your life sitting on a computer watching people live dreams or are you going to go out in the world and live those dreams your self... We all will die no matter what we do. Jokke could stop doing what he does right now. He would still die. You could stop jumping right now. You would still die... Get over fearing your death and get on with living your life... Jeb

I have done a few jumps here and there :)

I have a fast back on my X wing and i love it. I use it base jumping and have had no problem with the pull what so ever :)

Not a one :) I love the dorkzone hero guy. He is one of the funniest humans to have ever walked the face of this planet :)

My goal is not to land a wing-suit. Most people misunderstand the project. My project is about jumping from high altitude and landing at very high speed without the aid of a parachute. You were right earlier in the posting. The wing-suit is only a very small part of a much bigger puzzle. I have zero desire to land a suit on flat ground. Not interesting to me and I do believe it's impossible, unless you reinvent a hang glider, which is exactly what you will be doing if you go ridged wings. Now, I have thought lots of things were impossible and have been proved wrong over and over again. So maybe in the future I may be proved wrong again. I am hoping that once we build the runway and land it with wing-suits we will then be able to get the super trackers to land too. Think ski jumping without the skis and without the mountains :) Now that is something interesting...

I know right, all those silly airplanes using runways to land. We all know they aren't really landing for real :)
