A friend of mine owns a PC-101 and recently bought a Kenko 0.45X wide angle lens with macro. The problem is that when the focus is set to infinity even though he zooms in a little the image seems to go out of focus. He is a newbie in videoing tandem and he wants to have that range on zoom in (not close up shot) without the out of focus thing. Is there a problem with the lens (is a brand new one and he had a Bower 0.45X with macro and did not had that problem...only that it was scratched)? Is it a setting in the camera? Any help will be appreciated. Ivan "Rock On"

I own a vengeance 97 and have made more than 500 jumps on it, also have jump the stilleto (97, 120, 135) some 40 times over all and I own a velocity 79. I can tell you that the vengeance (for me and only my opinion) is in between the stilleto and the velocity. There is more in it than I can explain since english is not my primary language so bare with me. I have made very long swoops on my vengeance than with a stilleto. In my DZ there a couple of good swoopers that uses stilleto and always out do them on the swoops. It has a longer recovery arc than the stilleto. Hope this helps.....my .02 cents. Ivan "Rock On"

No is not and it will never be that way. Unless you get paid $2,000+ per video then maybe I wouldn't care for the loss. Now responding to the original question, I think that will depend if I'm not making it to the DZ. Twice I had to chop my main and with a lot of luck I have made it back to the DZ to finish the video. But in other occasions where the spot have been terrible or a sudden change in wind direction have made me land nowhere near the landing area in the DZ. Once on the DZ I apologize with the client give a brief explanation why I couldn't make it (by this time the tandem master have already explain the same thing that I do since he/she also is witnessing what I went through) and so far maybe one or two had have an issue with it but once they what you have edited for them is priceless. Now is very important that you do a very good editing job to compensate for you not making it back to capture the landing. My .02 cents Ivan "Rock On"

Now that you say that....yep! It is a PAC750XL. I don't know why I thought it was a camouflaged C-130? Ivan "Rock On"

I doubt that very much. I've seen ultra class competitors made straight in approaches or not so fast landings due to long spot or too low for a swooping setup. And their response was "Is better a long walk or a normal landing to the DZ than a short trip to the ER". Have you ever thought of the possibility of landing somewhere else out of the landing area of your DZ (due to bad or long spot)? Do you really think with that kind of wingloading you'll be able to land unhurt (maybe alive) in somebody backyard or wherever that may be that could have an obstacle? Don't get me wrong here, I just say this in a constructive manner...I want to clear that up. Ivan "Rock On"

YEAH! LOL. A lot practice, advice from fellow swoopers in my DZ and a canopy control seminar by Heath Richardson (PD Factory pilot in case someone doesn't know) finally paid off. Some $$$ well spent. Ivan "Rock On"

As I said, here is a video of me landing the Velocity 79 loaded @ 2.2 The video had to be edited on the approach and the end of the landing (I ended up like 100+ ft from where the video ends) due to file size limitations Enjoy! Edited: Misspelling! Ivan "Rock On"

Der is nozin tu si jier. Gu-i ar ius tu dis in aur DZ. Read it in spanish and you'll understand it That is something that we sometimes do to an US visitor in our DZ just for the heck of it. Their faces are priceless, but it's all good. Ivan "Rock On"
