For those of you that couldn't make it, you really missed out!! The weather was awesome, the scenery beautiful and the jumping was non-stop from Friday to Sunday!! The organizers did a great job setting up jumps for all skill levels (I personally learned a ton why I was there!!) Way to go Sky Dive Oregon for a great event!!! 4. I sure hope the DZO is looking at this thread and sees the number of folks coming out!! If there is only the KA and the otter it will be a very social event GFD, what do you consider a "big" shade structure?? Are yo talking 20 X 40? or maybe all of us "poor" skydies tying EZ ups together. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  7. All fixed, for those who wrote that the Write head on the floopy drive was bad, you were correct. Replaced the drive and all worked well, Bytch can now put "YOUR NAME or personal touch" on your flitesuit. She loves doing it to give that personal touch, so buy a new flitesuit and have bytchosized (customized by bytch). Peace, love and anarchy, Feeble Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  8. Lisa, A 95 program should just install even to XP. An xp specific program will not install to lower versions. I am off tomorrow. I need to pick something up at flite suit anyhow and I can bring and install a new drive if you like. you just have to entertain my kids for 10 minutes. 13. Hey folks, I know it's a little early to be discussing LP "06" but a few of us in Davis have been kicking around the idea of a bus trip for next year. One of our local jumpers works for a transportation organization which has a 40 foot bus that is not your normal Greyhound style. I haven't seen it, but Josh says it has couches, beds and other creature comforts that make the ride much more enjoyable. Anyway, he is considering organizing a Nor-Cal pilgrimage to LP next year and would like to know what the interest level is. tentative plan: Bus leaves Oakland (Jumper pick-up locations to be announced) Casual drive to LP with a few stop for scenery and of course a stop at the bridge in twin falls, Idaho to watch the base jumpers. While at LP, family style camp food top be provided during your entire stay at LP. (two meals a day) Then the return trip with drop off locations. The tentative cost for the ride and food will be between $750 - $900 per person with 24 jumpers. Just wanted to see how many folks might be interested. Please send me a PM if you are "really" interested. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  14. Actually we are reacting to the cost, just no one will admit it. I am eating out less and buying less manufactured goods. Have you seen the steady rise in food costs and other household items? This is all directly related to the cost of fuel. As far as driving goes, what option do most of us have? In the 80's the oil companies "PROMISED" the united States that they would keep fuel "Affordable!" This was in an effort to prevent the installation of a good mass transit system. Well it worked and now they are breaking it off in our collective asses!! There is no way for me to use public transit and get to work in a timely fashion. I only live 15 miles away, but it would take me 3 1/2 hours on public transit, i could walk it faster than that but carryin all my gear would be a pain. All the republicans have done is guarantee the democrats the whitehouse in 2008. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  18. I am leaning towards DeLand, with all the manufactures and teams it should be pretty easy to get on a load or 7. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  19. Well I am not leaving in the near furture, but I will be there for the Daytona 500 in Feb. 2006. 20. Being an anvil myself I have fallen out of more than my share of skydives. There are several schools of thought on leave or stay. Personally if I know I am out of the sky dive I track of perpendicular to the line of flight for all I am worth. I want to make sure I get good seperation from the rest of the group by leaving earlier and tracking further. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  21. /5/1 really good DZ party 3 freefly jumps; 1 with Jason working on transitions, the next was a 4 way freefly with one of the cuties at the DZ. It was the feather and the anvil (you can only guess who the anvil was, But i was able to stay with the dive!!) then a cool 2-way with Josh 1 - RW (finally got to jump with Beth) Dive kinda went to hell but had a blast anyway. 1 - Memorial track dive at sunset to Celebrate the Lives of Egon, Bruno, Krystal and Piers. Had a party for one of the DZ freefly teams that was alot of fun. Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

  23. Cooks comments, Yes there will be enough for veggie chow. The only animal product is the actual shredded beef and sour cream. I will have home made refried beands (no lard) spanish rice, and all kinds of fixings that are not animal related. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  24. Unfortunately I work one day of the weekend for three weeks straight, get two weekends off, then work at least one day per weekend for three weeks straight, cycle is repeated throughout the year. This is the one draw back to being a firefighter, but then again we can jump during the week and don't have to fight those fully loaded planes. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
  25. My pilot 210 flys like a dream. Great soft on heading openings. Sometimes the endcells are closed, but that has happened on other canopies I have jumped. I just pump the rear risers once or twice and fly home. If you are really concerned have your rigger jump the canopy. Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
