Hey John, I do want to preserve the rights of others that enjoy their right to bear arms. That's why I'm a proud NRA member. The problem with discussions like this is people are to far on the left or right. There aren't really responsible gun owners out there that voice their beliefs enough. It seems the only ones we hear from are the gun toting, right winging extremists that give us responsible gun owners/sportsman a bad name. It's just more cannon fodder for the anti's. You and I both know that if they outlaw firearms the bad guys will still have them.
-
Personally I wouldn't care if I was only able to own a single shot firearm. I only use firearms for hunting/shooting sports and enjoy the heritage my family shares together. I find it so interesting when the topic of firearms comes up....especially lately! I hear all the anti's out there condemning the ownership of firearms. Last year alone almost 16,000 americans lost their lives in alcohol related automobile accidents. Billions of dollars are spent every year on smoking related diseases. Why don't we just go after alcohol and tobacco companies right now? I work in health care and rarely have I seen gunshot wounds, but everyday I have patients or families whose lives have been ruined due to alcohol or tobacco. I recently had a patient that was raped by a man who drank himself out of control. Perhaps rape victims should start suing alcohol producers. Just some food for thought.

Do extremely religious people piss you off?
jumperboy357 replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure, religious extremists can piss me off. Especially the cowardly muslim extremists that kill innocent people like the reporter that had his head cut off and the video posted on the internet. -
25mg of plain over the counter benadryl works great. We use it in hospitals as a mild sedative. Good luck.
-
Here's my two cents on the subject. I own a Springfield XD 9mm. I have shot a lot of .45 and I love the caliber. But the 9mm is cheap to shoot and (in my opinion) has plenty of stopping power when you put your shots center mass where they should be. Also, there are quite a few streamline models in 9mm out there that can be easily concealed. Good luck and have fun with your decision.

I would have to agree with you. From my understanding that many of the Taliban fighters were trained by the U.S. during the cold war to fight the Russian invasion. If my info is wrong please let me know but I would still like to see the Russians come in and destroy whomever is responsible for killing their embassy personnel.
-
Actually they did until the US started shipping stinger missiles there in quantity. Two points for you. For some reason people don't realize that we trained and supplied the Afghan fighters during the cold war.
-
Do you mean the Russians will be able to do the job and get it done without the press getting in the way and reporting bad things about the soldiers? What a concept! There is war going on and our military leaders seem to have their hands tied trying to be so politically correct in the eyes of the media. I believe the Russians should go in kick some insurgent ass! By the way, thanks for serving your country namgrunt.

I thought S.L.U.T. actually stood for Skydiving Ladies Under Thirty. There are a lot of S.L.U.Ts around most dropzones. I don't think it's a bad thing.
-
Whatever. Until you've been that person on the outside of the door than the ignorance is on your side.
-
I think even the cops are afraid to break into your house!
-
If you're not a criminal then you have nothing to worry about. Cleaning a legal gun in your own home is not going to send you to jail without passing go. This, if anything, is going to protect the police officers who have to kick down that door. The element of surprise is a good thing to have on your side. In situations like this Mr. Murphy is always lurking and and it's better to catch an armed criminal off guard.
-
XD subcompact 9mm. I love the way it handles and the ease of cleaning. I also read an article that the XD was put through extreme cold and heat and fired 10,000 rounds without a jam. The 45 will have some serious stopping power. I have had great luck with mine and I'm sure you'll appreciate yours if you get one. I'm off to the DZ.
-
I'm still stuck on the point that your benelli holds only 8 rounds (although a great gun). I personally love my springfield armory XD. It holds 16 rounds and has become an extension of my hand. Man I love guns.

Former Marine Fends Off Atlanta Robbers
jumperboy357 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
I think you're just trolling here. If someone was to come after me like this I wouldn't hesitate to kill them. In fact, I would probably go after their entire extended family. Give up your bleeding heart bullshit here. The guy was defending himself. I'm happy the good guy is alive and well. -
Former Marine Fends Off Atlanta Robbers

When I read this I thought "Now that's justice!" They got what they deserved in my humble opinion. I'm just waiting to see if some screwed in the head family member of the deceased files a wrongfull death suit. This is a good example of why all states should have a concealed carry law. "Would be" criminals would think twice about attacking someone if there was a chance the victim was carrying a gun. I realize in this situation the Marine was only carrying a knife. You shouldn't F*@K with a Vet!!!! -
Another hot blonde teacher. With videos!

Where were these teachers when I was in high school? I always felt my education lacked something and now I'm sure of it. -
This garbage has been posted on here before. It's upsetting to realize that people actually believe this conspiracy theory bull. But if that's what you want to believe I guess it's fine with me.

Quote]Hunting Fact Sheet 2003 Often camouflaged from the public eye, the efforts of hunters as conservationists over the last century have restored America`s game populations and enhanced the habitat of numerous wildlife species. No other group has come close to sportsmen in contributing the volunteer hours and funding necessary to make such an impact on wildlife conservation. I also have been a hunter for most of my life. I have spent countless hours in helping to develop or lobbying to maintain habitat to sustain many species. True hunters are stewards of the land and want the great wilderness around for all of us to share for many generations to come. Plus venison tastes GREAT!

***Well, call my passionate response whatever you will folks. It will not make me deny Christ or the power of the cross. Quote It is written you will be persecuted for your faith in Christ. Never deny your faith. Reread Revelation and take a step back and look what's going on in the world. His return may be sooner than we think.

You know it's pretty easy to be an armchair quarterback when it's not your life on the line. Thousands of soldiers have already been killed and many more thousands have been wounded. As a soldier you never want to see innocent women and children killed or injured. Does it happen? Maybe. Perhaps it is also a spinoff from a liberal press that doesn't want to show anything good that maybe be happening there. But you also have to look at it from the soldiers' point of view. If you have seen many of your comrades killed you might find yourself in more of a self preservation mode. Things that might not have made you jumpy in the beginning might do so now. If you want to lamb baste an administration feel free but leave the soldiers that are trying to make a difference in this world alone and pray for their safety. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to do this.

Video Claims to Show Pilot Being Dragged
jumperboy357 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Both sides do what?...... Hang charred bodies from bridges and rally around them and cheer? Light bodies on fire and drag them through the streets in triumph? Calmly walk into a hospital and detonate a bomb, knowing full well they're killing women, children and medical personnel...no soldiers? Walk into a school room, drag 5 or so teachers out in the street and execute them? Slice children's heads off with machetes because they cooperated with the "infadels"? Take countless civilian hostages, slicing heads off of many of them...boobytrapping several of the bodies in the process? (mind you these are aid workers related 0% to the military). Ok there's a small fraction of what one side has done (I'll leave it to you to figure out which)...what's the other done? Taken inappropriate pictures Verbal harassment Sleep deprivation put the other side in jail ....funny, the "bad" things that happen to the other side are similar things that happen to military personnel in training. Oh my God, someone yelled at them...oh my God, they were kept awake! Say it aint so.... please, get off your humanitarian soap box, it's disgusting. You know you make too much sense. The U.S. held insurgents have it better than what we had in military training. You're beating your head against the wall trying to convince whinny liberals who have never picked up a weapon to fight for their rights. Just yesterday I was in a public library and over heard a young women arguing (at least she was passionate about something) how the U.S. military is wrong in fighting the war on terror. This is where I had to butt in. I asked her what her background was. She told me "I have a degree in extreme liberal studies." I realized already that she wouldn't be open to discussion or other ideas. I just looked at this young women (in her early 20's) and said "That must make you such a worldly person huh?" I figured my input would just be shot down as heresy and she would not even want to hear my experiences. Viper Pilot, I think you're in the same situation here. -
Actually, I think I would expect the wounded soldiers (and Marines - let's not forget them) to go out an stop those seeking to prevent the exercise of speech of these assholes. How would that be for a message - "Yep, I gave my leg to ensure your continuing right to protest me. I'm not gonna let those people stop you, for it does a disservice to me. But, do you think I can get a little sleep tonight?" That bomb's defused! *** I would like to act angrily towards these jerks but you do make too much fucking sense here. After all, that's why we serve.

Has anyone thought the the "Big Guy" upstairs knew this was a study just see if he would intervene. In my opinion this study was just trying to tempt God. The people conducting the test were also probably non-believers. Why would he intervene? I have been a nurse for 10 years and have seen things that could only be described as miraculous and had nothing to do with modern science.
