Illegal Immigration Under President Eisenhower
rickjump1 replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
Anyone who looks to the past for solutions is bound to repeat their mistakes. The underlying motives in that article are so rampant with racism you can almost imagine that we're back in 1951 when white anglos didn't even consider other races to be worthy of sharing bathrooms. Dammit, that's two posts today where I took it way deeper than it needed to go. "Anyone who looks to the past for solutions is bound to repeat their mistakes". False. We learn from the past and improve. Racism? Anthing about removing illegal aliens is racism. Right? Maybe corruption, but not racism. Nobody said anything about sharing bathrooms. Anglos? No, you mean Americans of any color who are here LEGALLY. You don't need to go any deeper. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
Illegal Immigration Under President Eisenhower

Life in the US did not die out when Eisenhower sent them home. Farmers hired legal documented workers for starters. Adjustments yes. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
For starters, we need another "Operation Wetback". Only this time the military gives the Border Patrol more clout.http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0706/p09s01-coop.html Surprise. Our government wasn't always in the surrender mode. Military does not control the Border Patrol... two different departments. Chuck I think we could safely say nobody controls our borders right now. The military has been used before and after 9/11 to fly drug and surveillance missions for both borders. Until the Border Patrol controls our borders, they will be will be increasingly augmented with the military. For example, the Border Patrol has had to run from fights with drug smugglers on our side of the Mexican border.

President Eisenhower stopped illegal immigration with "Operation Wetback". http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0706/p09s01-coop.html Interesting reading. Retired Border Patrol agents who participated in this operation say it can be done again today. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
I think AZ should be commended. We also need real federal enforcement because so many senators and congressmen receive money from people who employ these illegals. Not since President Eisenhower, has a president had the guts to do something about it. Evidently Vincente Fox's friendship is more important to Bush than us; kind of like his Saudi friendships. Rioting in the streets of Belgrade, Serbia

You left out short people and those who do not always agree with our government. -
He's rich, Jewish, left-wing, and lives in the North East. I'm willing to bet that you are the exact opposite: make less than $60K a year, christian, right-wing, and live in the south or mid-west. Am I right? I am originally from Atlanta but have lived all over (Georgia, Alabama, Maine, Montana, Bahamas) Have spent at least two weeks in the following places London, Scotland, France, Hungary, Romania. Not "Christian" and not right wing. My family is in the 250k+ income bracket, not that thats any of your fucking business anyway you presumptuous ass. I would not loose sleep over comments from people who will not reveal their identity. It's usually for a good reason: they are pretending to be something they are not. Kind of like the "executive" type whose biggest financial decision is to tell the customer: "Would you like fries with your that" or "Make that a combo and I'll give you a large Mountain Dew". You from the south and not a conservative Christian. Shame on you. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

If they would be willing or you could get them to do work a tenth that hard, they wouldn't be on welfare in the first place. Cut-off the funds and they might change their minds. Why should they work when we are supporting them? An empty belly, might change their thinking. Chuck For starters, we need another "Operation Wetback". Should Europe and the rest of the world disarm the USA

Do I detect sarcasm here? Our opponents on this thread are puzzled why we don't want to be like them. I don't. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
Ever thought of cargo like Fed Ex or UPS? The pax don't whine. The US Army accepts applicants without a degree. Met a lot of airline captains who started that way. Reserve or guard is a way to suppliment your income. Just be prepared to visit strange and intriguing places. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

*** Skyrad you really ought to get a life instead of sitting around dreaming up silly horseshit like this. Sounds to me like what you are really pissed off about is that you bozos are sitting around in your crime ridden country, jealous of the fact that you can't even defend yourselves from the armed criminals in your midst, while your snooty damn culture is collapsing under the burden of socialized government and the eminent takeover of your country by the european muslim community. As far as your supposed economic might, remember that the whole of the British Isle would not make up a corner of Texas, with a similarly small population, so beat your puny impotent chest all you want. There is your opinion and then there is REALITY... I think you are spot on. This whole thread is the prelude of a British immigration invasion of the United States, but they want to soften us up or "grease the way". First, they want to feel safe here so they will attempt to disarm us. Next they will introduce social programs and higher taxes (don't forget the unions). They did this to Australia and Canada; we're next. All those Muslims will have them on the rooftops of friendly embassies, and of couse once again we will bail them out. I just hope the American public is tolerant enough to put up with their strange dress and eating habits. Wonder if they will breed like flies once they get off that big museum they live on. Why? Because at some point the intolerance need to be changed. There is a long history of intolerance towards Jewish people but until the events of WWII they begin to speak out and force change. There are still segments that resist this and they are still fighting memberships at country clubs of all places. Blacks have faced the same thing they have been in the country for well over a century and to this day still face discrimination but majour events of the 60’s were the turning point, Woman not allowed to vote work in many industries till suffraget of the past fought for those rights, and the list goes on. There is a lot we have changed in time but unfortunately it appears a lot hasn’t changed as well. Thank you for the history lesson on civil rights. I still maintain that a school dress code applies to everyone regardless of their race, creed, or color. I do not consider this intolerance, but a way of maintaing order and discipline. Imagine Scottish kilts being worn at PE. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

You can honestly say you did your civic duty. You did the right thing even while suspecting it could turn into a rat fu#k. Pat yourself on the back.

Whiny fuc#king maggots belong in the refrigerator so they are readily available for ice fishing. On a serious side: Muslims have been in this country from the beginning like Jews. Why the sudden "cultural sensitivity"? Home ok; but no exceptions in the school or work place. This crap, like "I don't have to speak English", is just another nail into our third world coffin/outhouse. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Why? Even skipping obvious cases like school bus drivers and commercial pilots. I'm opposed primarily to random workplace testing, and less so to pre-employment tests because: Testing implies a lack of trust by the employer. A positive test doesn't mean a person is under the influence of a drug at the time of the test or while at work. Half-lives of different drugs can range between days and months. For example, let's say a person visited a country where MJ was legal and smoked some. A couple days later he has a random UA at work and fails due to the presence of MJ metabolites. He broke no laws, and he was never under the influence at work. "...no conclusions can be drawn as to when a particular drug was taken or how much was consumed..." A negative test doesn't mean that a person is not using drugs. For example, an employee snorts a bunch of cocaine before work in the morning, and is feeling pretty good at work for a few hours. At 3 PM he's given a UA and passes. Ditto for LSD, MDMA, meth, and others. "...no conclusions can be drawn as to when a particular drug was taken or how much was consumed...." False positives do occur. I'm opposed to testing of drivers and pilots for the same reasons. BTW, I don't use any illegal drugs. If the Captain of the Exxon Valdez had been given unannounced breathalyzer tests, one of the largest destructive oil spills could have been prevented. As for drugs: yes, testing is not 100% proven, but the person being tested can appeal the results. I don't think you have any clue about drug use in the work place. I saw both pilots and mechanics busted for alcohol and drug use. Most of the ones I knew never appealed or retested. You cannot have crane operators, ship/ boat captains, train engineers operating under the influence of anything because they are a danger to themselves and the public. Would you want your wife and kids to board a train or plane with a couple of drunks or druggies upfront? That is why random testing is mandatory in these skills. It's about safety in the work place over some person who thinks that peeing in a cup is an invasion of his/her privacy or lost trust from an employer. (If I didn't know any better, I would say you are preparing your skills as a defense attorney. Good luck.).

Calgary man denied courthouse entry for wearing kirpan

OK, but the point was that they were not placing an unreasonable constraint on him. If it were a tiny piece of jewelry, let him pass. If it was a ceremonial dagger like a ceremonial pistol or rifle, they can be fully functional. Should have arrested the sob for not testifing and said "welcome to Canada; you can leave the way you came". Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
Former Congressman Charged in Terror Conspiracy
rickjump1 replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
Seems like plenty of sexual debauchery across both sides of the aisle these days . . . No bets here, considering it's from AP. I got this off Wikipedia: [edit] Private career "Siljander is president of Global Strategies, Inc., a consulting firm in Washington, D.C.,[1] operates an import-export firm,[1] and works as a radio commentator.[1] He has written a book, A Deadly Misunderstanding: A Congressman's Quest to Bridge the Muslim-Christian Divide, scheduled for release in June 2008".............. . Former Congressman Charged in Terror Conspiracy
rickjump1 replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
By LARA JAKES JORDAN WASHINGTON (AP) - A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was indicted Wednesday as part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida and Taliban supporter who has threatened U.S. and international troops in Afghanistan. The former Republican congressman from Michigan, Mark Deli Siljander, was charged with money laundering, conspiracy and obstructing justice for allegedly lying about lobbying senators on behalf of an Islamic charity that authorities said was secretly sending funds to terrorists. A 42-count indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Mo., accuses the Islamic American Relief Agency of paying Siljander $50,000 for the lobbying - money that turned out to be stolen from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Siljander, who served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, was appointed by President Reagan to serve as a U.S. delegate to the United Nations for one year in 1987. He could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday. The charges are part of a long-running case against the charity, which was formerly based in Columbia, Mo., and was designated by the Treasury Department in 2004 as a suspected fundraiser for terrorists. In the indictment, the government alleges that IARA employed a man who had served as a fundraising aide to Osama bin Laden. The indictment charges IARA with sending approximately $130,000 to help Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, whom the United States has designated as a global terrorist. The money, sent to bank accounts in Peshawar, Pakistan in 2003 and 2004, was masked as donations to an orphanage located in buildings that Hekmatyar owned.
