Another Store Clerk Fired for Refusing to be a Murder Victim

Ummmm....I hate to interrupt another silly argument...but I've searched for where I can get one of these devices and come up empty. Can you provide a a link, please? Christmas is coming, you know.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device) You know, they made so many of those little poppers, one or two might have slipped through the paperwork. You might check out one of those gun clubs down in Mississippi. Those guys and girls have everything you could think of. If you find one, I wouldn't give to any kid under the age of 12 for Christmas. Hello Jerry, One of our local heroes died back in October. He had spent Christmas with General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge and fought for 310 days straight..... This was part of a talk I gave about his military service to family and friends. It deals with Japan: "Remember Japan? World War II was far from over. Japan had to be defeated, and no American soldier in Europe, including Herb Styler, wanted to think about being shipped halfway around the world to join General Douglas McArthur's planned invasion of Japan. They were ready to go home, and no amount of clicking their heels together and repeating, "There's no place like home", could get them started home. Nope, the 712th Tank Bn. wasn't going home until the Japanese surrendered. The US Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1945 estimated US/Allied casualties during the planned invasion of Japan to be 902,000. In total 744,000 WIA and 158,000 dead or missing. To the Japanese soldier, to surrender meant bringing dishonor to himself, his family, his nation, and the Emperor. Out of 22,000 Japanese on the Island of Iwo Jima, 21,000 resisted to the point of death. No one looked forward to an invasion of the Japanese homeland. On 6 Aug 1945 one American atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later another American atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. The Japanese surrendered 14 Aug 1945, and Herb Styler and the 712th Tank Battalion went home on 11 Sep 1945. Don't let anyone tell you it was wrong to drop atomic bombs on Japan. Those bombs not only saved thousands of American lives, they also saved thousands of Japanese lives." We can argue about numbers, but I do believe President Truman decision came from the projected number of American casualties as described in "Flags of Our Fathers". James Brady also described how "300 B-29's launched from Iwo Jima on March 19, 1945, dropped the first fire bombs on Tokyo. They dropped more than sixteen hundred tons of incendiary bombs that destroyed more than sixteen square miles of buildings, killed nearly 100,000 people, wounded 125,000, and left 1.2 million homeless. The casualty figures for this and the other firebombing raids were higher than those caused by the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki five months later." Who was bankrolling? "The Middle East Partnership Initiative - launched by the George W Bush administration in 2002 in a bid to influence politics in the Middle East in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks" Did you supply a no-fly zone before the revolution happened? Turned out != caused. Not that I'm surprised that some Americans are so arrogant as to think that nothing in the world can happen without it being because of them Oh no. The British SAS was on the ground controlling airstrikes for the opposition in Libya. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Another Store Clerk Fired for Refusing to be a Murder Victim
rickjump1 replied to rickjump1's topic in Speakers Corner
"But by outright lying about the facts, you don't create a dialogue but a distorted argument where both sides (pro gun and anti-gun) just resort to emotional arguments that have no basis in reality such as "store clerk fired for defending himself" and (on the anti-gun side) "Get rid of guns for the kids". I didn't lie about anything. If you read my original post, you would have seen quotation marks around the statement immediately following the source that contributed to my lie? This is an old story, and it will continue with bus drivers and store clerks/personnel, etc. sacrificing their jobs after they prevent murders or robberies with an unauthorized weapon on the job. That is no lie. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts. -
Mantas filter for their food like the large whales do. They are known to be very docile. Biggest threat from them is if they don't notice you and smack you or turn your boat over. Very cool dive! I was thinking of night feeding sharks. I bet it was cool. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Do you think a CEO and the executive board of, say, McDonalds making millions upon millions in salary and tangible benefits is respectable? They line their pockets with the profits from slaving their workers for less-than-living wages, and have the public pick up the slack by providing medicaid/food stamps/other subsidies.. Tell me why it's wrong for aomeone in charge of running a multi, multi million-dollar charity that benefits veterans to have a salary of roughly one-tenth of what a for-profit CEO would make? McDonalds? Slave workers? Call your congressmen. It's called charity- 1: "full of love for and goodwill toward or love of humanity". You can call it a business, but not a charity. It's already been pointed out that some of the CEOs of the largest charities receive zero compensation. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

It appears so many were created just to make money for the employees. Some of these are for veterans http://www.tampabay.com/americas-worst-charities/. On a personal level, one of the biggest scams I saw while on active duty was making troops contribute to the "United Way" on payday. I doubt if the whole 2d Armored Division could cough up that CEO's salary. Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

Not 100%, and the CEO should not be compensated $311,000. Hardly respectable (unless you are the CEO). Looks like this charity was set up to make money for the top executives. It's legal, but it's wrong. [url]http://asknod.wordpress.com/2013/08/19/wounded-warriors-project-a-scam/ Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.

"... on an internet forum, CLEARLY overly populated with nut jobs...and Oh - it was YOU." I would recommend the Colt M-4 5.56mm with no less than a dozen 30 round magazines, and I'm sure you could procure a couple of junkyard watch dogs from the Southside of Chicago for burglar alarms (if you think you're that big of a target). That quote involved one perpetrator who did overcome the victim. He could have very well killed the victim for resisting. You might fight off one perpetrator with a can of spam, but what if there were six? I'm sure "other" countries might encourage you to fight back and even train you with a bat or bear spray, but not in this case. Lots of ifs. The victim here lost his job, but he is alive. Sure. "‘A blight on society’: Asian gangs responsible for kidnappings, drug smuggling in Canada, immigration hearing told" They didn't say "gangs", they said "Asian gangs". Is this any different than "Chicago's Black Mobs" instead of just "Mobs". Nobody is saying all blacks belong to mobs robbing stores..... I believe the Canadians in this case are not using racial bias nor political correctness. They are telling who exactly is "responsible for kidnappings, drug smuggling in Canada.." Enlighten me. What did Obama do to interfere with the stable leadership of, say, Colonel Gaddafi (as stable as Saddam Hussein, BTW)? You may disagree but to me getting involved after widespread armed insurrection has broken out is not the same as interfering in a stable government. Stable != civil war. It was called Arab Spring, and it was an endorsement from the White House for revolution in the Middle East. You don't think BHO encouraged these people to revolt? He attempted to bankroll the Egyptian Revolution. http://news.antiwar.com/2013/07/22/us-democracy-aid-bankrolled-egypts-coup/ I find it odd BHO chose someone backed by the Muslim Brotherhood. Regarding Libya: BHO openly encouraged these people to revolt just like he did the Syrians. Didn't we provide weapons and a no fly zone for Libya? Without this interference, Benghazi would not have happened, and there would have been no Islamic jihadists roaming the streets kidnapping government officials. Do you really believe things are better in Libya? [url] http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-06-24/opinions/35460266_1_regime-change-military-aid-barack-obama "I’ve been asking people in and outside the region for an answer to that over the past few weeks: Egyptians, Israelis, Russians, Saudis, Libyans. Predictably, the answers have been widely varying, and often contradictory. But there are two points of consensus: Of course the United States and its president had an influence on how things turned out; and, for the most part, it was a negative one."
