  2. So, what else is new? *sigh* When will it stop...? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  3. Blackwater only hires US citizens, so by this definition they are actually not mercenaries. Quite counter intuitive... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  4. Did I forget to put in the tags again? Did you? Edit: Lotto numbers: 42, -4, pi^2/6, exp(-i*pi/3), 9, 11 HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  5. I love the fact that they even try to keep up the pretense of wanting these people treated humanely. In reality they probably wish that the Earth would just open up and swallow the entire camp, to make the problem just go away. Release them? No way. They are terrorist scum. Prosecute them? No way. We have no evidence. We just know. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  6. A link perhaps to some info on the film? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  7. Ditto! Hey! This is SC. We are not supposed to agree on anything. I therefore agree with steveorino while I think that miked10270 is a jerk. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  8. No argument here. This guy was even a lieutenant... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  9. It is not one country so different rules apply. Basically noone is probably going to dispute your level of ability. However, there might be insurance rules in the picture. The example with France requiring you to purchase a licence is simply because your coverage needs to be huge to jump in France. I have jumped there without getting a licence because I had my own insurance. For me it is a standard issue when jumping in a new country to just bring my insurance papers along. That will usually do it. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  10. You seem to be disagreeing with wikipedia on the origin. Am I the only one who finds this a little distasteful? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  11. As some of you may know, I have been visiting the states since the WFFC and I have noticed a prominent display of all these "Support our troops" bumper stickers and so forth. Now, as I know the story of this symbol it used to be that people who had a loved one gone off to war would put up or wear a yellow ribbon to show that they were awaiting their return. My question is this. Doesn't it detract from the value of a symbol when it is turned into a political statement? Is it not demeaning to a personal (and very strong) symbol when all of a sudden everybody start slapping bumper stickers on their cars? Is it not disrespectful to the actual families of soldiers abroad to "misappropriate" their symbol? I understand that one may want to express support. It just seems a bit distasteful to me not to find another symbol to use. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  12. You chose a hard point in the pregnancy. 3rd month would be no problem to me. 4th is harder. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  13. Think of all the astrological charts that will have to be redone... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  14. Cabin pressurizes at ~6000 ft. Your altimeter and protrack would not be damaged by the altitude, though. I've taken mine to 30k. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  15. I'm sorry. Did you mean to say anything? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  16. I think that probably most people's perception of me is painfully accurate. We tend to project a lot of thing unconsciously and we can probably learn a lot from analyzing people's perception of us. I am of course deeply grateful that there are still people that I am able to fool HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  17. Don't want sweat on my canopy if I can avoid it. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  18. Update: I just had the best steak in my life! Morton's on East Wacker Drive in Chicago served me the best steak I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was a Chicago style Bone-in Rib-eye cooked to perfection. I am still dumb-founded by the fact that the meat was so tender and yet so full of taste. Nothing short of impressive. 19. Reminds me of a friend who made the remark that the reason an even moderately good-looking skydiving chick got such a huge amount of attention was the fact that the rest looked like asses that were tired of shitting. Now, I am not commenting on the correctness of this statement. I am merely relaying a funny formulation (and diving for cover). 20. Kim, You rock! Happy birthday. Take care of yourself until you're well.
  21. Hey, I can do RW with you, while you're head-down when I get home. I hope you had the decency to try some of the guns they got hanging from the Gun-trees over there... Not yet. Did jump a DC9, though. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  22. ... is the food. Dammit it is good! I can understand why you have an "obesity epidemic" over here. I am doing my best to keep up with the culinary offers but it just isn't humanly possible. The barbecue at the WFFC, the Mexican place nearby, the steaks and pizzas of Chicago... I made the mistake (once) of ordering a "large" serving at a Chinese place by the hotel. When you say "large" over here, you mean large. I was nearly defeated by a "small" stuffed pizza at Edwardo's on 57th in Chicago. Also the European practice of ordering a salad as a starter to go with the main course is just a plain ol' bad idea. Most salads I have come across here were two regular meals. And it is so cheap! I am going to have to pay overweight when I go home... One thing, though: For a people that drink so much coffee, you guys know remarkably little about making it. Starbucks is tolerable but it isn't good. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  23. I do not dispute that ugly things happen or for that matter that they happened during the revolution. It was an armed conflict (and from what I can read Batista was hardly any better). To reiterate my original point. Human rights violations do take place, but what is the view of the general populace when it comes to Castro?
