If I told you that I was listening when Weird Al sent in his first tapes to Doctor Demento, would that make me nerdy enough? I don't know! That was my question. It is definitely either nerdy or geeky but which is it? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

THIS is a short documentary about my life. You wish! Weird Al rocks, though. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Interesting. Based on experience it only takes the demonstration of a minimum of education to be labelled as either a nerd or a geek today. It can thus be concluded that knowledge is considered a "social shortcoming", at least if we take the word of ntrprnr as the eternal truth which of course we do. So, do you consider yourself a nerd or a geek? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Doesn't really answer the question. Does it? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

I was just called a nerd over in Speakers Corner just because I said I could count to 1023 (or 1111111111) using my fingers. So, what's the difference between a nerd and a geek? Being a physicist and being proficient in several computer languages I suppose that I cannot elude at least one of the cathegories but what exactly is the difference? Hmmm, more like 1111111111 Exactly!

'nuff said. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Cool, thanks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather on Sunday.

Ehm... I don't normally do that which should be evident from my jump numbers. I think I'll go dust off my PLF. If it is a hybrid then I should be fine, though. The normal Tri is an easy canopy to land. Edit: Oh, and thanks.
-
Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks.

I am trying my hand at CRW for the first time this weekend. The canopy is going to be a Triathlon hybrid or competition. Should I expect the landings to be dramatically different from the ordinary Tri? I thought that the main difference would be reinforcements and retractable pilot chute but my instructor warned me that it would land like sh*t. Having flown the normal Triathlon and flying a Spectre regularly I was wondering if his warning was just a 9-cell personality trying to describe a 7-cell landing or if the CRW Tris are really trimmed dramatically different. Should the U.S. Declare English Our Official Language?

Should the U.S. Declare English Our Official Language?

No, but I like to believe that passing legislation to this effect would have a reason. What would this reason be? You still haven't told me what it is... HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde... -

Canada has a couple. Switzerland has 3. Actually Switzerland has four. Take a look at one of their bank notes. -
Think of it as a way of learning to pack. It is a nice feeling when you are able to get a brand new canopy securely in the bag on the forst attempt. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Well, invade another country then. How about France? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Surely one's view on Roe vs. Wade is of paramount importance as to whether or not one should work on the reconstruction of Iraq. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

We jump a C-206 and we spot the damn plane ourselves. We still need to ask permission from the pilot to jump, though. He might have info that we don't. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
