can the un be trusted with all the aid money
lou_lou replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
That is if every country gives all the aid money they promised! -
Oh my God I'm 21% Chav! But only cos I've eaten pot noodles and know someone with a hot tub (they don't live in the UK so that doesn't count!). I think I don't own ANY Burberry or white stilettoes so I think I'm safe. That was frightening.

Can anyone recommend the cheapest/best place to do helicopter jumps preferably in Europe?

Newbies: Do you pack your own rig?
lou_lou replied to flyinghonu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where I jump if you hire a rig you aren't allowed to pack it which is fair enough. Once I get my own I definitely will though. -
On Thursday I'm off to Spain for 3 whole weeks of skydiving (weather permitting!) and am too excited to sleep or eat or nufink! Cross fingers for blue skies x

Cheers guys you have given me confidence. I will just take it as it comes.

Well I don't see why the American public should have to apologise for something they aren't personally responsible for. Stick to your opinions and vote for who you want. You don't have to answer to anybody! It's Bush people don't like not American people in general. Speshly the ones who didn't vote for him! Chill!

It's not a nice thought but after having worked with children who were born with various problems and disabilities I have to say that some children do have no kind of life no matter how much their parents love them. Sad but true. I agree with the doctors. Also, the Netherlands are pretty sorted on the euthanasia issue. I agree with a lot of what they do.

Yes and thank fuck it does else how would we recognise the good in people?!

Okay so I've done most of skydive uni and am booked in to finish it over xmas. I am loving it so far but am worried about the transition from 2-way to doing a 4-way. Beginners are always talking about fucking up exits etc. Is it really that hard? My exits are my strongest point but the pressures on as skydive uni is ruddy expensive! I just want it to go well. I do get quite nervous if I'm not sure about something. However, I do recognise that getting nervous about my exit is a bit silly when I'm about to jump out of a plane. Now I'm just babbling. Okay. Reassurance needed!!!

If skydiving didn't exist. . . .what sport would you do?
lou_lou replied to Bigwallmaster's topic in The Bonfire
Well I'm a martial artist but that doesn't give me the same buzz. I'd have to say rally car driving! -
I fly from the UK to Spain to jump at Empuriabrava. I haven't jumped in the UK yet but my nearest DZ would be about an hour away.
-
My favourite exit is to just jump out backwards curled up in a ball. I find this is the only way I can get the same feeling I got the first time I did a tandem which is, after all, what made me learn to skydive!

I whacked it all on my credit card when I was travelling in New Zealand. If I'd thought it through I might have waited and done AFF in the UK but once I'd set my heart on it I had to do it asap! I did end up having to go home early and owing lots of money but I have managed to stay current so it's not so bad. Do a pros and cons list! Lists are always good in these situations!

Trying different dropzones UK
lou_lou replied to julesshrew's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I haven't jumped in the UK at all yet after hearing stories like yours. I go to Empuriabrava in Spain - cheap to fly there and cheap to jump and if you give them a ring they are really helpful with sorting you out as to whether you can jump or not and what you'll need to do. You can jump all day there and it's a really nice place too. -
wicked photos! wish I could do exciting things like that but am still very new to the sport and thought it best not to try freeflying on my gigantic student rig!
-
that is hilarious. Good plan mind!

I haven't been paid for two months due to HR fuckups so I know which side I'm on! Also, might see you at the xmas boogie as I will be there too! In fact, I may well see you around as I live just down the road from UWE!

Hi, I did my AFF in New Zealand about a year ago now. I live in the UK but have only jumped in Spain so far (nicer weather!). I am doing skydive uni next week. Can't wait to start jumping with others as am very bored on my own!

She must like you tons to worry about you so you are very lucky! Being worried isn't such a bad thing. I know my parents worry about me but I make sure they know it's not going to stop me before reassuring them that the risk level is actually very low compared to crossing the road etc.
