You mean it wasn't Bush & Rice manipulating the data? Whew I guess they're off the hook then.

That was the Old Testament God. The New Testament God is a lot nicer. Talk about spin! Jesus was a damn good PR man that's for sure... Job is often misunderstood, if you're gonna reference scripture at face value at least try to understand it. The shit hits the fan when God allows the devil to have influence in Job's life and ultimately Job gets it all back when he stops listening to assholes (shame about the wife & kids but oh well, he gets replacements).

Well firstly I made no mention of AA, but since you ask AA explicitly rejects the notion of equally able. It doesn't address the lack of qualified minority candidates, instead it prefferentially selects minority candidates, this is why it's so contentious in the US. It's not very convincing telling a non minority who loses their university place to a less qualified minority candidate due to AA that you're levelling the playing field. This is just one of a range of issues in the US that includes reparations for decendants of those who suffered as slaves.

I recently considered a chest mount for the opposite reason. I've been getting instructed to watch behind during tracking to improve body position and keep an eye on what I'm tracking away from. It's a niggle to rotate my hand to squint at my alti in a track. In the pattern a chest mount seems prefferable to a wrist, especially when you consider the Sun (how often have you glanced at your wrist alti and had to move your hand over the Sun just to read it?). Taking grips during RW seems like when the wrist mount wins easily on easy visibility.

WHO!?!??!?!?!!?!?? No I'm not confused, it's not my responsibility that you see the world a different way. As for who benefits that includes you. I sure as heck don't benefit more than you from labor that was done generations ago. If they built an economy that we now reap the results of today that includes us all born new into the world at age 0. That's just taking your thesis at face value, I have issues with your interpretation of one group building an economy.

Al Qaida finally unveils their weapon of mass destruction.

Are you saying they did and nobody else contributed? What about all those white guys who died in the civil war over (in part) emancipation. They're dead and never had decendants, you're alive. What about my grandfather & the countless working class guys of his generation. They did hard physical labor whole lives to put food on the table and died without a penny to their name. What does any of this history have to do with the world owing you or me a favor? You didn't build the economy of this nation back then and nobody alive today did. We're all better off because of their legacy today.

He didn't refuse to listen, he listened and engaged you. He just disagreed with you. Your culture/minority doesn't have a monopoly on tough breaks & hardship. My grandfather was sold for a shilling (for a season) and my father worked in a coal mine. Everyone can concoct a hard luck story if they choose to. I could harken back to the Scottish highland clearances, focus on the countless countrymen conscripted in a class war & butchered on the fields of Flanders or bitch about economic regional deprivation & favoritism (with very tangible examples) or other cultural baggage or I can focus on my future and my attitute. Attitudes hold people back more than any other single factor.

Page 4 paragraph 3 of the PD report I linked to seems to cover this issue and explains the advice w.r.t. biplane configurations.

No they haven't infact one of the reasons has been proven to be the case unless you deliberately ignore evidence. Without reliable verification before the war the point is moot in anycase. The pattern of 12 years of evasiveness and flouting resolutions played a role here. Beyond this there were other reasons given as mitigating circumstances. It was stated up front that getting rid of Saddam would be a worthwhile goal in itself as a way to bolster the case and the positive geopolitical implications for the region were clearly stated. Other information that's come to light since the invasion further bolsters the case, for example the corruption in the oil for food program and the discovery of mass graves.

You should pay attention, it was the administration through Colin Powel who tried to get the UN to act on this issue. Are you now saying the US should go it alone even where strategic interests aren't at stake? You're the one who is inconsistent.

BSR for canopy loading (from low turn incident thread)
dorbie replied to billvon's topic in Safety and Training
The concept of a waiver needs to be clarified in this discussion. It's not a waiver if you meet the exemption requirements expressed in the BSR w.r.t. canopy course endorsement or skills signoff by a coach (or whatever the final requirement might be). You've simply qualified, the BSR is not being waived at least by the most sensible interpretation, you've qualified within the parameters of the BSR. Even if one of the current proposals is less onerous than others there are other options not on the table that would be simpler, for example making anyone downsizing get their log book endorsed by a S&TA to that size based on a logbook review and discussion. This formalizes what prudent jumpers do now w.r.t. experienced review of their choices. I really object to the argument that some basic safety requirements aren't rigidly enforced so we shouldn't worry about imposing another one because most people will flout it just so a few people can be singled out. It's a thoroughly bankrupt argument. That's the worst kind of rule and making that argument should be sending up red flags about approving this. -
Well if you're comparing to a low mileage used 2002-2003 then you should compare apples with apples right? Retail new they start at start at $26.5k. You do the math.

Or they know that they can do jack shit about it so they pretend that there isn't a problem. Don't worry they'll make an award winning movie in 5 years so everyone can feel good about feeling bad over the slaughter.

He he, well where's congress? Or the people?!! They were free to vote for someone else, and congress can debate and pass legislation and impeach all it likes, there's barely been a peep out of congress on this, in fact as posted they did authorize this. Dude you have a representative government, why the obsession trying to let a bunch of old farts nobody voted for directly impose their opinion on the majority? Could it just be that you're in the minority in this case and want a do-over. This was was pretty popular at the time, you can object to it post facto but pretending this was some renegade running off and starting a war without approval revises history.

Bloody well said. I can respect this position from anyone opposed to the war in the first place. I can't understand the detractors working against the current developments hoping to clutch defeat, pessimism & ruin from the jaws of success. What's said by broadcast organisations & nations (and to an almost negligible degree individuals) affects the outcome here.

This is the same guy who was obsessed with making the bear proof suit that you see getting hit with bats logs and trucks in home movies. You can see his suit to the right in the photograph.

I agree it's wrong but criminalizing it further victimizes the women involved on several levels. It also gives the usual sanctimonious finger waggers the chance to put down a bunch of their peers over personal mores masquerading as criminal behavior.
