  1. so jeremy what does the misses think of this list? lmao!! see you this weekend!
  2. it comes down to this...you pay a packer..you take your chances. if one of us...yes i am a packer..does something youre not comfortable with, let us know, choose another packer, or pack it yourself, but if that rig goes on your back and you get on that plane....its on you. as said in the SIM...the jumper is ultimately responsible for his or her safety on a skydive...that begins with the packjob..... and with that.... IMHO, its always a good idea to follow the manufacturer's recommendations when closing a rig. just leaves little room for any questions to be asked....

    Boobies!

it just let me vote 6 times as well...now ill jump on the computer at work and then school....that will give you 18 a day from me...
  4. as a packer..i expect to set the brakes, uncollapse the slider and cock the pilot chute....it is part of the job. but..as said earlier in the thread...the rigs with that done already are first in line..! however, i HATE IT when jumpers bring in a big ball of sh*t for me to untangle. when you pack 20-30 tandem rigs a day on top of all the sport rigs, having to stop and take much more time on a packjob untangling lines and fixing step-throughs, etc, you get pretty irritated VERY quickly.
  5. im an aerospace engineering student...im sure i can get you all the pictures and diagrams you want. even real life pictures from a wind tunnel with smoke showing the unique air flows..cool stuff...just send me a pm with an email address..
  6. until i realized that i didnt pay attention to my body position on opening, i had off headings on my s2150 as well. now that i have improved my body position throughout the ENTIRE opening sequence, perfect on headings all the time. and by perfecti mean perfect. symmetrical packing helps too.
  7. all tangerine with 2 and 8 cells white...bright and beautiful...
  8. oh yeah you need to get ur big @$$ up to SA soon...shady prick lol
  9. haha i cant believe i actually pulled that off and i cant believe it opened nicely....
  10. no...just more fabric in the nose making the canopy a bit bulkier...
  11. my sabre2 opens BY FAR better then ANY other canopy ive jumped with the exception of the spectre. i dont understand all the talk about pilots opening nice...the 170 and 132 i jumped opened like crap..
  12. by jumping and experiencing the effects of warm vs. cold weather..and being an Aerospace engineering student and actually seeing the numbers.....yes.....there is quite a bit of difference which you can see on paper as well as feel in the air.
  13. anybody have any experiences with Kurupee suits? the cost caught my eye but I was just curious as to whether or not they hold up as well as some other brands? thanks.
  14. all of my jumps off of student status have been on various size sabre2's. neatly flake, dont roll the nose, dont push the nose into the packjob, dont touch the nose at all, roll the tail nicely, thats it. ive been a professional packer for 3 years and i dont have any problems nor have i ever had any complaints from folks who jump the sabre2. just my two cents. good luck.
  15. parachutes want to open, and sometimes they just don't thank you....i agree
  16. Anybody who claims to be able to pack a tandem in 5 minutes is full of shit, and anybody with enough skill and experience to actually be able to pull it off would know better anyway. packing a sport rig in 5 minutes is no big deal. i do it all the time. but personally, in my opinion, rushing a tandem rig like that is just asking for tension knots or lineovers. just me two cents. by the way, ive pro packed probably over a 1000 tandem rigs and never had a problem.......but i also dont try to do it in 5 minutes... blues
  17. Huntsville ATC, located about 40 miles from our DZ at Skydive Alabama, picks up our canopies easily they say. big or small...
  18. The 170 would be VEEEEERY tight in the v310. if i'm not mistaken, and i probably am, but i believe relative workshop says the v310 will hold up to a 150. with about 7,000+ packjobs, i can tell ya that their sizing chart isnt very flexible. Even if you did stuff the 170 in, you would be putting ALOT of stress on the flaps and grommets....just my two cents..good luck with whatever setup you decide to go with.
  19. smart was a 135 at about 1.48 and the pd was a 126 at about 1.58. the brake length seemed about the same on both wings. dont get me wrong here people... i would fly both with no worries...
  20. have demoed both a PD and a Smart and hands down, the smart opened, flew and landed better. MUCH more flare on the bottom end than the PD. not to say that the PD was bad, i just prefer the smart. both great canopies from great companies. blues
  21. Anybody think a Sabre2 150 would fit into an I3 from Aerodyne? I know the website says an Aerodyne 132 is the biggest but several very experienced jumpers that jump Aerodyne stuff says it will. I'm a pretty experienced packer with somewhere around 5-6,000 packjobs and I know I can get those little bastards pretty small. Any thoughts?
  22. at my home DZ, i can think of 3 instances right off the top of my head where vigils fired ON THE GROUND when the rigs were put into a van to be taken home and the door was closed. i guess it was the change in pressure inside the van. either way, that is a very scary thought. wouldnt want that happening when the door is opened at altitude, now would we? i dont trust them. there is only one word you need to know about aad's......CYPRES
