  1. Have been to a dropzone in UK, where I am not jumping often. Noticed that after a load, pilot came off from the aircraft, the engine still running, and he did refuel the plane. Thoughts on safety of such a practice of shortening the turnaround time between the loads and making more loads?
  2. Thanks for sharing this, Jarno. Very comprehensive and structured approach to wing suit progression. I miss one thing though: Level F: - doing all of the above & looking super cool in the video - doing wingsuit rodeos with the hottest chickz on the DZ & (of course!) looking super cool in the video - doing (insert anything else) & looking super cool in the video Jokes aside, really good job!
  3. Nice tatoo! Although I would be a bit reserved about having a tatoo with something, what involves technology. Now look at those older guys with Paracommanders, Paradactyls, & box-man skydivers with belly reserves, tatooed all over their bodies! Technology is advancing so quickly, that what seems to be on the edge today, will seem outdated tomorrow. And then you will have people saying in few years "why does it have this old-school butt deflector", "why is it a monoplane wingsuit" etc. However, if you do not care about that, should be fine!
  4. Hey, let's be friends, all of you As I personally know several people posting in this thread, I can tell for sure that all of you are among coolest guys, I have ever met in skydiving. Competition is finished, let's not go through all the details again - let the past be forgotten. Peace & happy flocking!!
  5. Maybe you just pull the right leg strap more when adjusting the harness? Often it is the case, that the right shoulder is slightly lower for a number of people, due to bad habbits of carrying all stuff (either back pack, shopping bag, etc) on the right hand or shoulder. So due to lower right shoulder you might have a natural feel of tight legstraps with the right one pulled more than the left one. Therefore it is very important to look at both loose ends after titghening the legstraps, to ensure that they are really even, not just the harness feels tight.
  6. Haha, tried some of these over this weekend. That was fun for sure, both for me and the passenger
  7. I fully agree with you. All the fun part of the TM should not place him as the main character of the video, it should just contribute to the good emotions of the student (maybe provoke them a little bit, if a student cannot relax and have fun otherwise).
  8. Hey, tandem masters, What are your "own" favourite or most funny freefall gestures or facial expressions while jumping with cameraman? "Thumbs up" does not count, everybody does that Please, share images or just describe them
  9. Yeah, jumping AN-2 in US is probably same exotic, as driving something like 1970 Corvette Stingray in the roads of Eastern Europe. As I am actually driving one, I can say, it possible to get used to exotics rather quickly By the way, the Russian phrase on the door has nothing to do with Siberia or jumping out of perfectly good airplane. It says: "press the handle down and push to open the door"
  10. Haha, and don't forget to have a machete with you in case your plane crashes in the jungle. It will help you to defend yourself from wild animals How would you protect yourself if alien spaceship attacked the plane? (Another realistic scenario).
  11. Recently married friend of mine is paranoid about losing his wedding ring during a freefall (e.g. while holding student harness during AFF, throwing out the pilotchute, etc.). He rather puts it into the pocket of his jumpsuit. I am just wondering - has anyone here actually lost your wedding ring during freefall or canopy ride? How it happened?
  12. Swooping the round parasail above the water is so lame... Try this (someone make it clicky) http://skydive.home.lt/gallery/AnzerWorld/Swoopuks
  13. Cannot agree. PD Katanas are produced both in US and Honduras. Mine is from Honduras, however, another guy from our DZ has the one from US.
  14. I'm 22 right now & I have already done half of my master's degree. I also work & I'm financially independent from anyone. Since 13, when I started jumping, I really had lots of time to think about whether to make my living out of skydiving or not. I chose the latter option. Why? Two things: - What if I injure myself really bad and had to quit the sport? Be packer for the rest of my life???? - One of the reasons why I enjoy this sport so much is that I have to work for 5 days and then get the maximum amount of pleassure on the other 2 while jumping. When you have to wait for something, it makes you enjoy the moment so much as it comes. School is shit, but life cannot be good 24/7 PS. If you haven't sold your Stellar reserve yet, I still might consider buying it.
  15. In total it took me 6 months to get back in shape after broken femur. Half of that time was winter, when the weather was not good enough for jumping, so I didn't lose too much. As the major problem at the recovery stage was the overall weakness of the leg & pain while running. Later, when the leg got stronger, everything was fine. Advice for fast recovery - lots of walking & swimming in the pool. Of course, consult your physician.
  16. That question would sound funny in countries close to Russia, as Mi-8 is most widely used helicopter for parachute jumps around there Different locations, different jumpships though
  17. We're talking about the same rig! I have to purchase it quicker before all the RW-guru spirit will be blown out of it during freefly jumps
  18. Looks like it's a rig with memorial value for any dedicated RW jumper. They won gold in 8way & silver in 4way then, didn't they? I have to get this rig Thanks for information.
  19. Have no idea as I had the chance only to try this container on for a while. I currently do not have the SN, therefore, the post to dz.com might be the quicker (however, not that reliable) way to know more about this container.
  20. Hello all, I got an offer for purchasing this container (see attachment). Seems that it has travelled a long way from US to Europe
  21. Me too, I went from a ST 120 to a KA 120 and I LOVE the openings. I think the good openings of Katana can be put into two key rules: roll the tail 3-4 times, keep legs together on the opening (to ensure symmetry in the harness). Anything else?
  22. Yes, I'm flying one, just made a shift to it from the same size Demon, what I'm really happy about. I agree with your remark regarding the openings, it seems to be repetitive in many jumpers' impressions about Katana. Thanks.
