well heres the deal... i flew an apache this past sunday for the first time and absolutley loved it. the legwing inflation was impressive, as was the range of the suit overall, and the fact that sight-unseen with an open container and a 5 minute call i was able to rig the suit, get it on, and get to the plane on time. the way the zipper was continuos ftom to to neck, was a great innovation. but i intend to wingsuit base whatever suit i buy. and with no "hands NOW"option there is no way i can consider the apache as an option. you have to have a reliable instant cutaway. have to.

no way. cables cant jam. ever. look at the gs1/sugarglider. a one handed, cable based cutaway system, that is only undone when needed, and runs down the arm parralell with the zippers. none of this " i cant reach past my knees " crap, because the handle is in the middle of your chest. as innovative as the tonysuits have been, its hard to beleve they cant come up with decent cutaway system.

heres one, all about lift, and speed, and flying in a horizontal plane .. but mostly about drinking and having a good time.

two from sunday sunset load... nothing terribly special, but i liked the hue of the clouds in the 4way shot, and the step shot is kind of a cool perspective... congrats to justin from the falling gators on his 100th...

why couldnt you intergate the standard cutaway cables on the inside of the arm somewhere, but outside the airlocks, as a supplement to the zippers, ...ala sugar glider.. you still would rigup with the zippers, the cables are always connected unless you have to usethem. the idea of a wingsuit, with no immediate access to you r arms, just seems like a bad idea.

nylon mounting screws for schumacher.. where to find?
avenfoto replied to avenfoto's topic in Photography and Video
man i have no clue... i think its five thirty-seconds of an inch but i could be wrong... i just know that on the install instructions that came with the bracket (this is off the top of my head) it said to "drill a 6/32 hole ....then use the included 5/32 nylon machine screws to attach" or something to that effect... naturally i broke two (it comes with one replacement) the workaround (for me) was to just buy 4/40x1.5" nylon screws, which just barely fit through the threads on the bracket, and use a steel washer and nut, as well as a drop of silicone to finish it off... ill post photos later.. cya -b -

nylon mounting screws for schumacher.. where to find?
avenfoto replied to avenfoto's topic in Photography and Video
update. everywhere i went had 4/40 then jumped up to 6/32.. solution, 4/40's w/nuts and silicone... also, to remove broken screws, use a pair of needlenose pliers, if there's not enough to get a hold of, a super small drill bit and a stady hand should do it... thanks for everyones help. -b -

How old were you when you started skydiving?
avenfoto replied to pkasdorf's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i started at 20, my mentor did his first basejump at 16... -
the base price of many helmets is signifigantly lower but by time you get everything together and assembled over time the cost could eaisly be double or even triple that...

watch all 2 hours, and comment. very thought provoking indeed.

if after 400+ jumps and only 4 months uncurrent you are that afraid of being in the air alone, than maybe you should keep your feet on the ground. just my .02 im sure youll have fun regardless....
