Hmm...See now I'd say they died skydiving because the plane ride up is a part of the skydive.
-
I second this. He didn't die doing a BASE jump, he died leading up to one.
-
Oh, no you two didn't!!!

I'm surprised it opened that fast and fully/properly. I would've thought that at such a low wing loading it would've had problems inflating.

I'm talking about the 37 inches of rain we've had in Southern California this year. Only another inch or two and we'll break the record for the most rain. The record that stands now was set back in the late 1800's. NO MORE!!!!

At this rate I will easily be able to get back into skydiving. I won't have to worry about my landings anymore. I can just do water landings all day!
-
For the LOVE of GOD, will it EVER END!!!!!?
-
I've never seen that video so I thought they actually meant scenery, as in nice cliffs, trees, mountain sides, etc. I'll admit I'm a little slow sometimes.

Isn't this "roll the ears" technique how riggers do reserves in skydiving rigs? Getting it into the molar bag nicely that is.

Some paragliding pilots fly with a roll of dental floss in their harness. That way if they ever land in a tree they can lower the dental floss down to the ground, have someone tie a rope to the end and then they can pull up the rope. Dental floss is light and pretty strong and it is easy to carry 50 yards of it in your pocket. Any BASE jumpers carry this with them?

VIDEO!!! Of coarse that may be a given but still...

I look forward to hearing about it for 13 hours!

Does "Chef Aiello" take requests for food? How about those famous tacos and cookies? You cook I'll buy?

Oh crap, you know about wallymart? That's just not good! Who was the one that poisoned your mind by telling you about walmart!?! We need to strangle them.
-
Schweeet! What does mine say? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
-
But it could be fun to get thrown off!
-
Schweeet!! **Oh yeah, and BBBBRRRRRR!!!!!!!**

No pics available yet. Apex is busy building the new risers for me. I will post all about it at a later date.

I'm currently working on an idea to solve this problem. It should be done (hopefully) in a month or so. Afterwards which I'll be sending the final product to Tom for some test jumps. If he's willing to still do it that is. Tom...?

Bastard! I know, I know, it's been said before. But because of all the rain down here in So. Cal. I have to mention it again.

They usually just wipe it with one of those cloths and then run the cloth through that sniffer machine thingy...technical term there. (Anyone know what they are really called?). I've even left my hook knife on the chest strap and they didn't notice or didn't care. edit to add: I was carrying it in a stash bag.

I agree. The first picture shown does have a 2:1 mechanical advantage, requireing 160 lbs. to break, whereas the second picture doesn't. This is because in the first picture only one free end is connected to the break cord. In the second picture both free ends are connected. This minor variation makes a BIG difference.
