  1. Come on Joe 24 hour shifts are fun. You only have to work 2-3 days a week. Ask me how I know this, come on ask me!
  2. There were 2 DZs that made a total of 40-50 turbine loads on Saturday. This goes to show you that a turbine DZ in KC is a viable option. To quote my friend Rodney King " C.C..C...Can't We All J.J..J...Just Get along?" What does everyone else think? JM
  3. Some people with Celiacs Disease cant eat any gluten products. No wheat products at all. Going low "very low" carb is not a choice, its a matter of everyday health. L8R, JM
  4. Martin, Glad you started the thread, it gives me humor throughout the day. Keep posting! BTW: FaQ Ole Yeller, I cried during ET! Has anyone seen the newscast of all the upset women who picket a new strip club, or people who want to remove books off the shelf at a school or bookstore? You know what I mean, we've all seen those protest type activities. What was the first thing that came to mind when you heard of, or watched those newscast? #1. If it was a strip club "Were's it at and how do I get there". #2. If its a dirty book or magazine "Where can I get it". Idiots who create controversy unwittingly give the target of their controversy "FREE ADVERTISING" The same thing goes for this new DZ. With all the Controversy, its like giving the new owners "FREE" advertising. If I were them I'd call everyone who came to oppose me and "Thank" them for all the free advertising. I dont know maybe even a Free ride in my new Caravan, just to say Thank You! Before I go, a few serious predictions. Im gonna have BoDog start taking wagers on these odds! 1. This DZ is getting Free Advertising 2. This DZ is opening 3. It will not affect the EMS Helicopter. They might move, but who cares it wont be as economically attractive as a new DZ that brings new people to town. And believe it or not EMS Helicopters have lots of competition themselves. 4. It will put a hurtin on the other local DZs 5. The City Of Harrisonville will probably vote to grant the lease. 6. Neighbors close to the airport won't call the police for trespassing, at least not 99.9% of them! They will sit in their backyards and enjoy the activities. 7. I'll have to buy new gear Anyone have anything else to add. L8R, JM
  5. Joe, I was wondering the same thing. The fact is that it takes a few minutes for the Helicopter to get going from the time its dispacthed to the time its airborne. Within this 2-3 minute time frame I believe all jumpers could be on the ground. If the plane is on jump run and the Helicopter is in motion, exiting the aircraft "might" and thats pushing it, have to wait. Its going to be a mutual communication relationship between both the DZ and the Helicopter. Look at some of the larger DZs in FL, they operate with all kinds of avaition traffic. Lear jets, helicopters, single-multi engine planes and everyone for the most part lives in harmony. Now the extreme end of the spectrum is that the Helicopter wont wait to leave until all jumpers are on the ground, and wont have good communication. If you have ever been to Skydive Chicago and jumped out of the airwolf looking helicopter, you know what I mean. That pilot would take off with canopies in the air flying all over the LZ. I was quit shocked when I witnessed the helicopter lift off within 50-100 ft from open flying parachutes....SCARY Regardless, you right the DZ is going to open. Now I just need to buy new gear. L8R, JM
  6. Open to interpretation. Im sure these laws will be tested if this DZ opens. If this DZ opens and is a economic draw for the city, Im sure the municipal court will be... How can I say it? Lenient? It still sucks being on the hostile end of farmer McNasty. Been there, done that! Isn't that right Timmy? Missouri Revised Statutes
