Well, there does seem to be an inexhaustable supply of patience from the American public. With every breaking story, US citizens become more and more jaded to the whole thing. This is not unexpected however. Quite the contrary. It is a recognizable tactic of the oil-soaked media. Believe it or not, we are expected to just forget anything is going on. Any time "new" news is given to us about the war, it is bascially a new shot of novacane.

Isaac or Ishmail... That's what it's all about.
Air-Addict replied to Air-Addict's topic in Speakers Corner
Over two thousand (or three, who knows) years ago, God spoke to Abraham and told him he would soon have a son and that his son's sons would forever be the kings of Israel. Abraham was like, "no way - my wife is too old." He decided to bump uglies with one of his slaves and she came to bear a child by the name of Ishmail. But who knew? God was right. Abraham's wife mysteriously turned up pregnant. Abraham sends away the slave with their son to never come back. After the birth of Isaac, the prophetic son, God returned to Abraham and said, "see, I told you so... now bring one of your sons up to the top of this mountain and sacrifice him to me!" Abraham is like, "Shit, I've sent Ishmail away, now I have to give Isaac to God." God, disgusted with Abraham, sent him away and did not take his son. End of story. DOES THE LAND BELONG TO ISAAC OR ISHMAIL -
"witholding your venom."*** I'd truly hate to see your bite. That's the problem with one-sided conservatism. It can't see the difference between plain ole' patriots and Democratic cooks. I don't think either party should be allowed to compete any more. I have never affiliated my self with either of those two parties or any other party for that matter. Every side of the cubic political system is corrupt and in need of reform. Don't be so sensitive because you are contributing to the exact same close-mindedness that I would like to see removed from the governing bodies of the world.

how politics can not affect this sport...*** I never said that. I sincerely believe politics can affect the color of my eyes if the powers that be choose to do so. The way you prevent politics from interfering with your precious "names" and "sports" is by electing officials that do not use a monopoly press to debunk truly rational and intellectual beliefs.

Troll Post???? Doesn't Care About DZ.Com???? Tell me... what do you hold so dear about your beloved DZ.Com that you are quick to persecute those who mention things on it that do not directly reflect your own opinions? You are a great spokesperson for such a free-willed forum.

***Bush Herbert Skydiving... I already sent him an E-Mail... just kidding.
-
***WHAT WILL WHUFFOS THINK OF US IF THEY BELIEVE WE ARE AGAINST BUSH? GEE... I DON'T KNOW... UNAPATHETIC!

Where the hell do you skydive at?
-
Not unlike most people in the world, I nedd to be slown down sometimes too. Thanks everybody!

Just in case someone has not seen my earlier "back-pedal" I do agree that the word "Skydiver" should be omitted from the monicker. However, I would like to participate in these types of activities with people I can relate to, ie: SKYDIVERS. THIS IS A SKYDIVER FORUM ISN'T IT?

WAKE UP!!!!

I have never witnessed anywhere else the type of "community" found at the DZ. An inherent respect for others seems to be the guiding light for all of us skydivers. Simply, if you have no moral code, you won't last long at the DZ. It is not a bad thing to reveal this to the world. Wow... people who get together weekly and enjoy the thrill of a lifetime... and Oh My God... they are educated too.

A really bad name????? A really bad name!!!!!!! Are you serious? What is bad about being politically and socially conscious?
-
Very well put funks. Skydiving is an activity that has brought us all together. Period. It is not a sacred cow for God's sake. Plus, what's the harm in the world knowing that skydivers are mostly intelligent and compassionate about the well-being of their neighbors?
-
My goodness... there really are people out there that will find any reason to support the Bush Crime Family, huh?
-
Ok, Ok... Forgive me! I am still blown away by the fact that the only "sane" people I've met in the wretched state of California are Skydivers. I am admittedly quick to want to organize around that fact. So instead of skydivers Against Misinformation, maybe there are some People Against Misinormation, that also happen to be skydivers, that would like to be around other "People" who skydive and want to help bring about change at the same time.

The unity of like-minded people can be a beautiful thing. I want to organize an activist group (consisiting of skydivers) that is willing to participate in Anti-War and Anti-Bush rallies, etc. in Southern California. Respectively, I want to call this conglomeration: SAM (Skydivers Against Misinformation). August 29th @ 10:00 am there will be an Anti-Bush march and rally in Santa Barbara at Alameda Park. If you are interested in joining some of your radical skydiving brothers and sisters to put an end to social injustice, e-mail me by 8/20/04. Other information about this event can be found at www.nion-sb.org
