  1. I think one or two people from WTS will probably make them also.
  2. I've been to dropzones before that wouldn't let me jump because I was underage, and also not been allowed to jump out of certain aircraft during boogies and the wffc. So in the end the DZO/Aircraft Owner have the final say. I don't see anything wrong with the situation if it is alright with the DZO. Besides this thread was about her trying to find other 16 year old skydivers, not whether or not she should jump at a DZ. I mean this is a forum for skydivers isn't it?
  3. I don't see anything wrong with it, unless the dz she jumps at requires you to be 18.
  4. She is 16, thats old enough according to USPA, so what would the problem be with her advetising how old she is? She could be 11 as long as the dropzone was not a USPA group member, the FAA does not have any restrictions on an age for skydiving.
  5. I should be at most. Anyone know where I can find a complete schedule?
  6. I was wondering the same thing myself? They competitors said they were jumping from 10,000 so they shouldn't need oxygen.
  7. Maybe if the girls hadn't walked the entire race they would of done better I dont understand why they had them go skydiving though, it didn't affect the time at all.
  8. Andy Anderson, Steve Tudor, Orly King and Jared Douglas
  9. >I've never tried style, turned out pretty good, obviously didn't place (academy folks did...duh) Yeah I messed up that right turn, left turn, backflip stuff also
  10. I have over 3000 jumps on crossbraced canopies, for the most part on FXs, Xaos-21s and 27s. I have around 300 or so jumps on a vx. I just got an 88 ft Xaos-27 and love it. I would say that the xaos27 performs similarly to the vx, however it opens a lot better. I cant comment on the Velocity becasue I have only put around 3 or 4 jumps on one.
  11. Mikeal Stevens has a 53 square foot Xaos-21 that he used to jump reguarly. Charlie Mullins jumps a 58 FX as his main canopy.
  12. Swoopong our hangar at West Tennessee Skydiving last halloween
  13. I don't think you count...I didn't start jumping until I was 20. Yeah Im still in college so I count as a collegiate skydiver. I am eligible for the collegiates this winter and plan on competing.
  14. Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. There are three others that I know of here.
  15. Tandem instructors at West Tennessee Skydiving make $75 a tandem if they own there own geat and $50 if they are renting.
  16. I am going through the AFF certfication course the second weekend of October. I turned 18 this september. I also had my Tandem Rating on my 18th birthday.
  17. I was not justifying his desire to jump a smaller canopy, I was simply stating that not everyone is an incident waiting to happen. I have no idea who acrojunky is or how he flies. People for the most part get bent out of shape on wingloadings when it comes to incidents. Any canopy can kill you.
  18. My older borther Joel started jumping a 99 Fx with around 80-90 jumps. My little brother Zach did his AFF on a nitron 120. Sometimes people progress fast enough to jump high performance canopies such as a 66VX with those jump numbers.
  19. It probably would perform better at that wingloading. I have had this canopy since 2001 ( it used to be an FX) and have close to 1800 jumps on it. Until last year my wing loading on it was around 2.3-2.4 when i had an exit of 165lbs, and right now I do not want to buy a new canopy. I even recently sold my 65 xaos-21 to finish up my private pilots license.
  20. Yes a collapsible pilot chute makes a large difference in canopy performance, especially when you are jumping small high performance canopies. Also, a coolapsed pilot chute will still have enough drag to deploy your main in most circumstances.
  21. My canopy flies great at a 2.6 wingloading. I have flown up to a 90 square foot xaos-21 at an exit weight of 220 as well as a 53 square foot xaos-21 at an exit weight of 180 ( I was a lot smaller at the time). I think the larger wing gives more distance. Also it is up to you to decide if your ability will allow you to add weight or jump a smaller canopy.
