Saw these recently... "He who writes on bathroom walls rolls his shit into little balls. But he who reads those lines of wit, Eats those little balls of shit." and "Its no use standing on the seat, the crabs in here can jump ten feet. and if you think thats pretty high just go next door, those bastards fly." Actually the speed of light was recently (within the past 3 years i think) shown to slow down or speed up depending on the medium it was traveling trough. In fact in one experiment that was performed light was slowed to almost a standstill. There was an article in popular science about it.... Ill see if i can find it... I was thinking about getting one of a guy swooping with a canopy that looked like the Texas flag. Don't know if I'll ever get it but I think it would look cool. A thunder of jets in a clear blue sky, a streak of gray and a cheerful "Hi"

Are you a "goal oriented" skydiver?
BeattheDrums replied to skybytch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm goal oriented to an extent. I do eventually want to become an instructor, a rigger, maybe a pilot. But right now my goal is to learn as much about freefly and RW as I can. So Im jumping with people that are way more experienced than myself, and if the exit funnels or I go Low or whatever, I still find I have learned something from that particular jump (like how not to mess it up again). So I learned something, I got a good laugh, and hopefully made some new friends. Yup that sounds like a goal accomplished to me. Got this in an email... Just some food for thought. Enjoy - Dan General "Black Jack" Pershing was born September 13th, 1860 near Laclede, MS. He died July 15th, 1948 in Washington, D.C.Highlights of his life include: 1891 Professor of Military Science and Tactics University of Nebraska 1898 Serves in the Spanish-American War 1901 Awarded rank of Captain 1906 Promoted to rank of Brigadier General 1909 Military Governor of Moro Province, Philippines 1916 Made Major General 1919 Promoted to General of the Armies 1921 Appointed Chief of Staff 1924 Retires from active duty Education West Point. Just before World War I, there were a number of terrorist attacks on the United States forces in the Philippines by Muslim extremists. So General Pershing captured 50 terrorists and had them tied to posts for execution. He then had his men bring in two pigs and slaughter them in front of the, now horrified, terrorists. Muslims detest pork because they believe pigs are filthy animals. Some of them simply refuse to eat it, while others won't even touch pigs at all, nor any of their by-products. To them, eating or touching a pig, its meat, its blood, etc., is to be instantly barred from paradise (and those virgins) and doomed to hell. The soldiers then soaked their bullets in the pig's blood, and proceeded to execute 49 of the terrorists by firing squad. The soldiers then dug a big hole, dumped in the terrorist's bodies and covered them in pig blood, entrails, etc. They let the 50th man go. And for the next forty-two years, there was not a single Muslim extremist attack anywhere in the world.Maybe it is time for this segment of history to repeat itself, maybe in Iraq? The question is where do we find another Black Jack Pershing? A thunder of jets in a clear blue sky, a streak of gray and a cheerful "Hi"

Hey all, I've been interested in becoming a rigger since I started in the sport, I just like to know how everything works. And I'm hopeing that since the Navy is doing away with my job I can have them pay for rigger training. but, in the meantime whats the best way to get some "hands on" experience. Would anyone in San Diego be willing to show me what rigging is all about? Or does anyone have any advice for getting started? Thanks A thunder of jets in a clear blue sky, a streak of gray and a cheerful "Hi"
