I have class from 7 - until 10ish. Will probably just head home after that so that I can get some skydive sleep for my day off tomorrow. However I guess anything is possible. neil to the p (ala skip)

Can someone tell me the proper names for 4 way exit positions (tail, point etc)? Let’s say the following diagram is the plane with the 4 jumpers.

Is anyone organizing other then the big ways at this shin dig? I would love to get some quality 4-12 ways in while there. I will be in late Thursday night - depart early Sunday morning, if anyone wants to put some stuff together. Neil to the P

My girlfriends year old VW Passat has recently received quiet a bit of axle damage – that sucks - and any way we figure it were out a BUNCH of money. Now the axel can be fixed, however at this point I’m figuring we owe so much money on this car and just ‘yoinking’ an axel back into place has got to somewhat degrade the structural integrity of the car – I don’t know if I want to keep it after its fixed. I would rather loose out a few thousand immediately then keep paying on lemon (as a side note the car has had a few minor collisions etc.). SO I’m looking at selling it at a slight loss and purchasing a new car – the only thing is to make up for the loss we are also going to have to get something a little cheaper then the passat. So my question is what is a GOOD cheap car – something in the 20,000 range? What about KIA’s, has anyone ever owned or know anything about these vehicles? Thanks for help – she is very upset about this and I just want to put something together to cheer her up and spare as much money as possible. neil to the p

Can anyone tell me about the Majik Bootie Modification on a Bev suit. Is there any reason one would not want to get this mod (other then saving a couple bucks). Thanks neil

Wow – I heard it here first and I must admit I am taken off guard and shocked. I borrowed a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas from a friend maybe 13 years ago – when I finished reading it I promptly stole my own copy from a bookstore in the mall near my house. While I haven’t read everything he has written, I’ve read a great chunk and have enjoyed most of it. Unbelievable. neil

My Plan is to fly into Atlanta on Wednesday night (the 16th) and go see my mother for a bit (north north Atlanta). I'm going to take her car down to the Airport early Friday morning, fly out Sunday. However like I said since I can fly stand by I can really play it by ear. If there’s a caravan going Ill I might jump in. We should encourage more to come. Neil -

Well I’ve been planning on it – though it’s pretty much up in the air as of right now. I’ve got a hotel room booked and me and my girlfriend can fly out standby for free so were just going to call it as it gets close and we can look over our money situation at the time. Who all is going? It should be a blast – hope we make it. neil -

Where bout's is Sams Club? Actually down on the "Richmond Strip". I might come out - never know. I was going to try to get in bed early and be prepared early tomorrow for nice weather - but ugh it looks like that could be a wash. Neil -
Yup - when do you need the money? I definitely have money coming your way - just need to budget out. Neil

Just a few more questions for anyone that has worn one of these. I am still trying to imagine the flip top release system, when you “squeeze” the visor together does it simply lift the top portion off the pin thus freeing it for movement? Can you do this with one hand? Is it very very secure when shut. I can’t afford to have my gear blow open and risk loosing my contacts – I would be fucked. Thanks neil

With so many geeks present and the success I’ve seen in past threads here I might as well give you guys a shot at this. I am writing a script in which I need to access a removable hard drive on several different computers – however I will not be sure from machine to machine what drive letter will be assigned to the drive. What I have come up with is querying all type 3 disks on the machine and selecting the one that is not named C: I think my logic is correct but my syntax wrong – however my logic could be wrong as well. I am completely new to scripting and in fact this is really the first WQL Query I’ve ever constructed. Here is the code. Set colDisks = objWMIService.ExecQuery _ Select * from Win32_LogicalDisk Where DriveType=3 AND Name != "C:" Anyone have any experience or opinions on this? Thanks neil

One of the best jobs I even landed (actually the job that “launched” my career) I landed by walking in the front door and asking for it. I was actually at the company installing some vinyl lettering for them and have been working on computers ever since. .:skip

Is there any difference in a 1992 Sabre and say a 1999 sabre.
skip replied to skip's topic in Gear and Rigging
Would I be better off buying a used saber with a DOM of 99 as apposed to a used saber with a DOM of 92 – both with around the same jump numbers on them (400). Thanks -
Not that I’m a recognized face on Dz.com or anything I will still donate some money soon for the tent as I’m sure I will make it by and maybe use the tent to pack in etc. So donations coming shortly. neil
