  1. Anyone have any tips on ensuring an engagement ring? I called a local farmers guy and he said best practice is to add it to your home insurance or renters insurance. Unfortunately my soon to be fiancé controls the renters insurance and hell I don’t even know who it’s through or anything (just know that my rigs are covered). So I don’t want to jeopardize the surprise by trying to prod the information out of her. I looked at Jewelers Mutual which looks great however will have an annual rate of almost 90 dollars. I will spend it no problem but wouldn’t mind finding something cheaper with the same coverage (theft, damage, loss). Any tips experiences would rock Thanks Neilp
  2. I guess that is what I was trying to get at. In my situation only one break had fired and the other was not going to unless I forced it (with my knife). I simply could not get the configuration down well enough to feel comfortable landing it – wrapping enough line to make my chute fly straight and continue to fly straight while I flew and flared with my rears. neilp
  3. I also chopped from a stuck toggle – it was my 81st jump. I do think I would be more open to the idea of landing it now – that is assuming I was able to play with it and feel comfortable with it before my hard deck. If only one toggle is stuck and has not released the break line you would have to wrap the other steering line around your hand to counter the turn and then steer/flare with your rears – correct? Would this not also bring you close to your stall point upon flare time? neilp

    RADICAL!!!

You know I think it’s great when I see people whom have been making music that I have grown up with making some money but come on! I mean what is this? A reality show in which the winner gets to substitute as the singer in a band (INXS) whose last singer hung himself in a hotel room – oh and the show is hosted by Dave Nivarro. Kind of fucked up sick if you ask me. But maybe that was your point - I don't know? Neilp
  5. I lI learned everything I know about dreamweaver from this book http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201844451/qid=1116985315/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-1049564-9449620?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Its actually not that expensive either. From there I was able to learn a ton about HTML and CSS just by using the Dreamweaver text editor. Even being proficient in html I think Dreamweaver is a great tool. neilp

  7. Thanks for all the feed back. Yes it is a Wings – brand new haven’t even jumped it (as I can’t even pack it yet). I still have and am jumping my older rig (the Jav). I did find the stows down the flap and I like em allot. The Bag has 4 grommets. I worked on it a bit today and it still looks a little sloppy. When keeping the line tight should I be milking it from the risers or from the last bite or both. Also - I have been using two fingers through the bands and pulling my bites through – I tried first making the bits and then wrapping the bands around them – I can see how it will help however will take some practice as I’ve got a few hundred pack jobs with my original method. As for the bands and double wrapping them – no worries I am basically using the same configuration I have been using on my Jav for the last 150 or so jumps, large bands until I get past the cascades and then small bands from there on out. It seams to hold everything just fine. I guess Ill just have to keep work on some neat housekeeping techniques – watch some pack jobs this weekend. Thanks again. neilp
  8. My bigest problem stowing lines is when I hit the cascades - I can rarely get them to lay in nice without having some extra line sticking up. Sometimes I actually go back and pull the slack to the stows to fix the problem but there’s got to be a better way.
  9. Yeah if you could post a pic that would be great! I didn’t notice any other loops on my bag - however will look again. Thanks neilp
  10. I just received a new wings and new saber2 – after much struggling and sweat I am getting to where I can pack it up to where I feel comfortable jumping it. I have a question about one though however – I can not get the bag to close very well. I’ve got it secured with the rube bands however there is quite a bit of exposed canopy material (see attachment). I guess my concern is that the canopy material can somehow become damaged or snag etc. Thanks Neilp
  11. I just received a new wings and also noticed that there is not much in the Owners Manual in fact the picture in the manual has the excess just hanging out to the side and does not even have the same keeper configuration as the toggles that came with my rig. My bottom toggle keeper is like half way up the toggle with the loops below it. Does anyone have any tips on stowing with this configuration? At the moment I am bringing the excess up through the bottom keeper however this still leaves a whole bunch hanging so I wrap that back around and kind of push it up in the bottom side of the bottom keeper. I will try to get picks this evening if that would help. neilp
  12. If the last out was on their belly and those previous to him/her were not wouldn’t the exit separation close as the belly flyer drifted? Hence the only reason the belly flyer is getting out after is because of the high opening. If the higher opening is ignored couldn’t such a situation arise? But I guess that’s a different thread. neilp
  13. Or perhaps a better place as a result of his time here….

  15. I went to my local gear dealer this weekend hoping to get an Aviator – well that was a big negative as I was informed that they are no longer being made. Arghhhh. I really wanted one. Does anyone happen to run a gear shop and have some stock – or know anyone who has a shop and has some stock etc. I really want one of these. Thanks a bunch. neilp

This might sound a little off but its actually really really good. Spread a good layer of mayonnaise on the salmon, sprinkle lemon pepper and dill on the filet and then cook. Awesome dish. neilp
