  1. I’m meeting my family in Gulf Shores for our annual Thanksgiving beach party. Will anyone be around jumping at Emerald Coast on Friday or Saturday? I made it out last year and had a blast however only making one jump – hope to do more this year. neilp
  2. Well I’m getting married in march and going to Europe in July so not much room for many boogies. However my wish would be for blue sky’s this year at SKYFEST. Ill also be at AOT again this year without doubt. neilp
  3. I would imagine a home around Skydive Spaceland near Houston would be reasonably priced; jump year round as well. neilp
  4. I believe you may have visited Astroworld on its last open weekend ever. neilp
  5. Nope - Sorry.... But theres a few cool dropzones in the area... neilp
  6. That Microsoft tool mentioned earlier in this thread should take care of the. Also if you are running Windows XP and have administrative rights then you can kick off a system restore Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System restore. This will allow you to pick a day in the past and it will restore your machine to it's settings at that time. Neilp
  7. I have a brand new never been jumped saber 2 canopy that has been sitting packed for Months. I pulled it out the other day and it fell to the ground like a log, very stiff and very much pack memory. With a little work I was able to shake it out, flake it out and it seams fine. Would there be any damage done to it had it been kept in this state of packed-ness? Obviously I might want to think about storing it unpacked (as read in many threads) or get out and jump it. I guess I’m just curious about what type of damage could happen to it all packed up and how would I inspect to make sure none of that damage has happened to this particular canopy. I guess my logic would be that if it shakes out fine it is good to go? thanks neilp

    Wanna buy a body?

There was this older guy jumping at Spaceland a few years ago who had a canopy for sale and was having a hard time selling it, so I offered to help. Posted it up here on DZ.com and sold it the next afternoon. He couldn’t believe it and asked me WTF, I told him I used the internet (I’m sure he had never been online himself). Anyhow months pass and I get a call from this guy; he’s sick and was having bad problems with either his Kidneys or Liver; I do not remember which. He had 20,000 dollars and wanted me to find him a replacement organ on the internet, and was dead serious about it. What a trip. neilp
  9. WOW...... That would be one of thoes exciting jumps huh? neilp
  10. A Cook's Tour: Global Adventures in Extreme Cuisines. By Anthony Bourdain. As I read a novel about eating food I have officially become a food geek. neilp
  11. Maybe to do a little investigating/snooping?
  12. I’ve been hearing about the adren-l-n tunnel and the NASA tunnel for what seams like years now. I have my doubts on both.
  13. I was thinking of heading out to Spaceland after work on Wednesday for a hump day jump or two. Will the DZ be operating then? neilp
  14. Skydive Spaceland in Houston does as well.. neil p.
  15. No – seriously, where are we skydiving Sunday? Heck, Far!!! neil p
  16. Aymen! Now my question – If the weather is nice on Sunday, which I will put dollars down that it will be, will we have a plane at Spaceland? I can not think of a better way to celebrate this “miss” then making a skydive or two. neilp
  17. It looks like I may also be stuck in Houston. We were going to bail to just north in Spring, but this traffic is nutz. I’m staying right off Allen Parkway close to the Montrose – I hope this is blows over without screwing us up to badly. I guess this is hurricane skydiver central until the power goes out. Take care everyone. Neil P.
  18. I mentioned everything I could come up with ATO, Aggieland, Aggies Over Texas, skydiving convention, etc. I also left Rachael a message yesterday. I’m sure it was all just a minor mix up, no worries. Everything worked out good; I was able to get a room at the Hilton via price line for 140.00 for Friday and Saturday. neilp
  19. I tried to get a room yesterday - and no one knew what I was talkign about. Tried again today and the lowest rate I could get was 99.00. Are there any other hotels close that might have a lower rate? thanks neilp
  20. Yeah he still sings it though I don’t know that he really wants to. I’ve seen Arlo a few times over the last few years and hes played it at each show. He’s even included a whole new story about the 11 or so minutes missing from the Nixon tapes and it’s all good and funny just like the rest of the song. neilp
  21. The original question was not intended to have anything to do with sexual orientation or what physical qualities attract you to a person. I’m asking about Sexual Attraction period. Do we naturally have the ability to be sexually attracted to a person? Or do we learn it as we go? neilp
  22. That is are we born with the insight to be sexually attracted to another persons body/mind/whatever it is that sexually turns you on? For example you bound up in Plato’s cave; that is you know nothing about the outside world. You are freed and walk out of the cave and before you is (insert attractive person), naked, ready to go; are you turned on? Or is sexual attraction a learned experience. We live in a very sexually charged world does this aid our sexual attraction? neilp
  23. I would like to make it as well except school started this week – class until 10pm. Hmm well maybe Ill show up for a night cap who knows. neilp
  24. I’m sure someone with a better understanding of the sport parachuting system will correct me if I am wrong but here is what I understand. So you have 2 out and your RSL is still connected to your main riser. Without disconnecting it, as you main separates you have this small thin lanyard trailing of it adding a snag point. I guess that lanyard could easily wrap itself around a few lines on your riser and just knot up giving you a main reserve entanglement. Disconnect it and it will stay with you (although I would imagine not really secured to anything) thus taking it out of the equation. neilp
