I did a tandem jump because it was something I always wanted to do. I went through AFF because I wanted to face my fears and learn how to skydive. I continued doing it because of the natural high I get from jumping and also the friends I have made in the process. It is an obsession for me. One day it may be my profession.

Rhino, You call yourself a skydiver. Part of this sport is respect for the sport and for the people involved. You do not have this so you have pissed a lot of people off. Please grow up and undserstand this. You find enjoyment in coming to this site and doing what people have asked you kindly not to do. You also take great pride in your military background. Did you get released because of your actions? If so did you follow the Colonel home and annoy the hell out of him all the time? HH is the "President" of this website. If you do not do what he says you are not welcomed in "our country." If you are a "terrorist" we will in fact find a way to discontinue your existence. Please follow his wishes and stop. Or, we will hunt you down and smoke you out of your cave and eliminate you! Understand?

When I went in January it was with Tim and Sherry Butcher from Aerohio. They had their otter and it was just their friends mostly. They had the video from the past boogie and it was RW, freefly, raft dives, beach jumps and nice parties! The view is just amazing. Marathon is so small from a land standpoint that when you jump out all you see is water all around and a little piece of land below. Generally you break off 1000 feet higher than usual to ensure you make it back to the airport. there are huge power lines (if you have ever been to the Keys you know what I mean) on one side of the airport that you have to look out for and the landing area is not huge. You have to jump with a inflatable preserver around your waist. The view is the most amazing thing. As soon as the plane takes off you see water all around. SkyMedic was at the boogie so I will let him share more about the specifics of it when he comes online.

Pete, that was uncalled for. Somebody please post good boobies FAST!
-
You are right Pete. 100 jumps, B License for the water training. Sorry. Pete you have to sign up and get Roy, the Bartons and ALT to sign up to. the Bartons house is only like three blocks from the Marathon airport. We could stay there and walk to the dz and then take there boat out later. We can go and have fun.

Sorry to post again but I forgot to mention you have to have a C License (100 jumps) to land at Marathon Airport and a D License (200 jumps) to land on the beach.

All you Florida folks and everyone else who would like to skydive over Florida Keys. You have to pre resister now if you are interested because they are only 200 slots available. I am going to make it. I jumped in the Keys in January and I must tell you it is breath taking. Now that I live in New England this will be a perfect time to head south and enjoy the sun. You can pre register here...http://www.skydiveseb.com/register.htm and fax it to them. Might want to do it just to hold a slot for you. Hope I see you there! Taken from Skydive Sebastian Website... ***Key's Boogie, which the paperwork is now in progress for. The dates we want are November 6 - 11th, and as soon as that is approved we will let everyone know. This year we are making the boogie twice as long, and bring more lift capacity. Registration is limited to 200 people, and from the feedback I am getting I highly recommend that you register as soon as possible. It seems like everyone has heard about last year's event or they have seen the great video Mike Mjier put together and they all want to be part of the next one. Who wouldn't??? ***

Going to Raeford will be fun. It is an outstanding dropzone from what I hear. You will meet several dz.commers such as SkyMonkeyOne, SlotPerfect and CoconutMonkey. If you are going to be in Sarasota you have a few options. The Naples DZ has some REALLY cool people. It is a small dz with a 182 and is open only on weekends though. I used to jump there. But, you are gonna be in Sarasota so you could get to Z Hills in about the same time it would take you to get to Naples. Z Hills rocks too! Good luck and have fun!

Rhonda, this reserve is your last resort. I had a cutaway this weekend right after a reserve repack and I am glad I had it. It is out of date. Do not jump until it is repacked. There IS only one way to find out it is OK. I know you do not want to find out when you use it.

I remember his I have a date this weekend post. We were all telling him what he should do. We should tell him what he should do now. Fight brother! You can overcome this and live to fly again! Our vibes are coming your way! I know you hear us!

Hey you all. I am bringing this over from the Safety and Training forum. One of our dz.com brothers and fellow skydiver is in need for some good vibes. I am sending good vibes his way. See below.
