  7. Right on. Being in that student harness and making multiple jumps in a day gives me bruises on my inner thighs, too. Even when I have my leg straps tightened.
  8. When I hang from the strut, my knuckes are on the front side of the strut. And maybe my hands are little, but when doing this, the strut comes down on my forearm, a little lower than my wrists. It could be that my hands are smaller since I am female. My husband completed his instructors course two weekends ago, and had to "act" like a student on a static line and hang from the strut. He came home with bruises in the same place. Does anyone know how to avoid these bruises?
  9. Being a student at a Cessna-182 dropzone, my exits from the plane come from hanging from the strut. Every weekend, I end up with bruises on the underside of my forearms from hanging from the strut. Has this happened to anybody else? And if so, what can I do to help this?
  10. Yes. He is incredible. And I love sharing skydiving with him!
  11. Well, today I made two practice rip cord pulls, and then went up for my clear and pull. I was super nervous and didn't want to screw up. I climbed out on the strut of the cessna, let go, and pulled for myself. I let out a yell, it was so awesome!!! I released my brakes, and immediately went into a right hand spin! I looked up thinking I might have a line over, and realized something was wrong with my lines (probably tension knots). I knew I couldn't land that canopy, so I had to chuck it. I looked, reached, pulled and arched. Felt the drop, and rode in my first reserve ride. TWO FIRSTS IN ONE DAY!!! Man, I love my rigger!
  12. well, we just found out that the "airplane builder" only built toy airplanes... nice. edited to add: I want my money back. The man at Blockbuster said this was an excellent movie.

  14. I agree. Competition brings down prices and ups the ante on technology and the life of the product!
  15. Has anyone seen this movie? And if you have, does it get better? My husband and I are watching it right now, and so far, it pretty much sucks. Hence me being on dz.com right now.

  18. "Iron my shirt bitch" that's priceless!
  19. Congrats. Drive safely!
  20. I agree. I think a lot of people do tandems because the thought of jumping all by themselves is overwhelming. After they land safely on the ground, the thrill of it comes rushing in, and that is when they decide if they want to jump again or not. I think a lot of first time s/l students never come back to jump a second time also. Cost is a deterrant, but also knowing you have to make a jump every 30 days is also overwhelming to some. Tandems do have a way of weeding out those who are really serious about skydiving from those who just want to fun jump once.

  22. wow, got my attention. And at the same time was a tad bit funny. Did you see the baby spit the food at the mom?
