Anybody knows about Dominican Republic Boogie?
robertsa replied to robertsa's topic in Events & Places to Jump
If anybody has information about the boogie in Dominican Republic please post it! Thanx -
I'm driving to Rantoul from Chicago (O'Hare area) Friday morning around 10 am. If anybody needs a ride let me know... Rob

Went there past weekend (Memorial Day weekend) to visit my friend who works on this DZ. The facility has everything you need to skydive and have a lot of fun! Nothing fancy, but grat for a skydiver! CHEAPEST drop zone that I have ever been on! Jump-ticket to 13.500 ft is 15 bucks, and if you buy a 50 jump package, your jumps are 13 dollars!!! Tandems are 100 dollars... I really don't know how they manage to have this kind of pricing and still GRAT service!... but one is sure: ALL DZOs should learn from them!!! I enjoyed the entire weekend of organized skydives! This DZ is a MUST to visit if you are in Northern California!!!

Hi guys, I have a few Vladiballs for sale... go to Classifieds in the Miscellanious section...
-
Anybody has one Gmail account invitation for me?
-
Who landed it? Was it John King and McBain? Iwan I have the video... amazing... those guys got some BIG BALLS!!!
-
The guy is here... but doesn't want to discuss this stupid thing any more... has more important things to do than arguing with Kallend who's right or wrong... I learned my lesson this Summerfest... you can say what ever you want...
-
I jump hungover almost every sunday (after the heavy drinking on saturday night)...
-
Thanks for the invitation Val :-) If you are going to be at the WFFC I will ask you for a jump with me... so I can make up for the Summerfest :-))))

Val, As I have seen, SDC has so many "kick ass" freeflyers... I'm sure Missy and Rook could find somebody to organize those small freefly loads while they could put together some medium or small RWs... just to fix the things that gone bad... When I arrieved to the registration tent on the entrance, they gave me a brochure with the Schedule: Saturday(July31)-RW Sequential Organized by Joe Trinko... Sunday(Aug.1)-RW Sequential all Skills by Joe Trinko...etc. Why they didn't say that the guy have cancelled and the organizing will not happen? Instead of that, they haven't said anything... just took the 30 bucks with the smile on their face!
-
IF I DON'T CARE ABOUT FREEFLYING THAN THIS OPPORTUNITY DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING FOR ME... ...and the T-shirt idea is excellent... one of the cheapest and smartest ways to organize the boogie better!
-
Tigra, Do you know what Load Organizing means??? If you see somebody dirt-diving, that doesn't mean that they are organizing a load to anybody... There were a few 4way teams and one 8way team practicing for themselfs... but that doesn't mean that I could just hop in to their work! Billy Weber was organizing some loads on saturday, but on sunday he gave up after he got some freefall injury... If there were "so many" load organizers, like you said... than how Rook and Missy didn't know about any of them when I asked?!?! ... and I didn't say that people at SDC are not friendly, fun,etc... I just said that they were selling something they didn't have!

Your dad is great! I have jumped many times with him in Hinckley and learned from him a LOT!!! Sorry, but I'll be at the WFFC next weekend... By the way, I have sticked around saturday night and if you remember we met at the table...
-
I wasn't lookin' for coach jumps and 4way... but I expected something less than a 30+ way from two otters...
-
I think with the cheese he may want to stop and buy some paragraphs. That was painfull to read. you are so funny guys...

Just let you know that if you are low experienced or intermediate RW jumper, and you didn't come to the Summerfest this weekend... you did GOOD! By the SDC advertisement they were suppose to have great RW load organizing for all skill levels... This is the reason I went there... BUT haven't seen anything like that! The ONLY organized RW load was a 30some people formation from 2 aircraft. I don't have enough experience to jump this size formation with brakeoff at 4500... so I had to walk around all day and organize my skydives by myself... and ended up jumping with people who have the same experience like I do... so haven't learned anything new... After I asked Missy Nelson to help me, she said "Come freefly with us!". This is not why I came here... I would like to get those "great" load organizers for all skill levels, like your commercial and brochure said... Rook's apologized and explained that some load organizers cancelled and now he has a shortage... but I think that they could do something about that... 'cause that load with 30some people had enough highly experienced RW flyers and I'm sure some of them would be happy to organize smaller loads if they would give them a "right offer"... bottom line... he has enough experience to organize small loads by himself...I think... So... to make the long story short... I wasted my 30 bucks that I paid just to enter the Summerfest gate and got absolutely NOTHING for it! ...and one more thing: if you go there to jump from the CASA don't go... the tailgate airplane was flying only 5-6 loads on Sunday, because nobody wanted to jump from it?!?! The reason for this is that SDC let their own people use the Twin Otters for 14 dollars/jump... and for the Casa they charged 18... The result was "sorry, but we can't fill up the tailgate load..."! ...no surprised! I learned my lesson this year and I already know that next year I will stay in my Hinckley and get better organized RW loads for cheaper... SDC has to make a freefly Summerfest next year, so nobody will come, get upset and waist the money...

Re: [airtwardo] No pull from 2000 m on 24th birthday and got killed

I don't think that they care about the Serbian market, where they have sold just a dozen... If they announce that the cypres is good after 12 years, jumpers from all over the world will start using the expired devices... and they will be in big trouble (financially) -

ohhhh... my god... I met this guy somewhere... (Paracin or on Lisicji Jarak during Vidovdanski kup... I'm not sure)... I'm so sorry! About the cypres: what you think, what will the manufacturer say? They want you to buy a new aad... not to use the old one... that way they wouldn't make money... ok... let's leave the cypres... how about some old rigs... or some harness/container... at least with a 3ring system... many of them in serbia have a 2 shoulder relese system... In the attachment you can see what jumps 70% of people there... it's called Kluz-1... shame... -

There is no rule about cypres in Serbia... Last time, I was there (2 years ago), nobody had a cypres... Those guys would be very happy if they could get something from here (US)... even if it's old equipment... If anybody needs and wants... I can provide a few skydiving club addresses from over there.
