  1. What makes you think he hasn't...? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  2. My Sweetie wrote it to me for Valentines when we first started dating.
  3. At what part of our history did the meaning of the term "liberal" change? I have always considered the founding fathers were the definition of liberals, yet I sense most people (from both sides of the political spectrum) would argue with me. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  4. Back at ya Singapore Man That would be Shanghai, but thanks nonetheless! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  5. On which ground? Again, emotionally, I can't argue with your statement. But legally, that's a huge can of worm. If you make it "OK" for a father to kill his daughter's rapist, then you do not need a judicial system for cases of rapes, just let people take care of their own grievance. Then where do you draw the line when it comes to "justified emotionally driven violence"? is it OK for a person to kill his/her spouse's lover? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  6. I totally agree with you. I actually think that laws regarding pedophiles should be reinforced and sentencing made harsher. But there are definitions that still need be some further polishing (consensual sex with a minor in some cases, etc...). "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  7. What if you do not get the detail, and it is just presented as "a convicted murderer is moving into my neighborhood"? After doing research, you can probably find out this person was convicted for killing a pedophile. But I doubt the majority of people do such research, and therefore will treat this person as a murderer, period. How concerned would you feel if Roman Polanski were to move into your neighborhood? Again, I think anyone dangerous to society should not be allowed to walk the streets. But we tend to think in terms of black and white, when sometimes reality is grey. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  8. Emotionally, I can't argue with that. Legally, however, it's another story. Besides, let's assume dad's daughter gets raped. Dad kills rapist. Dad stands trial, goes to jail, gets out early. Moves into a new house. Neighborhood vigilantes hear "Dad" is a criminal who got out of jail early. "Dad" is officially an outcast of the neighborhood... Granted, most cases might be more clear cut as to how "bad" the person is. I have mixed feelings about having to report one's previous crimes. On one hand, I DO want to protect my family. On the other hand, it almost constitute a second sentence. You either release people if you feel they have served their time; keep them in jail for the duration of the sentence (instead of systematically releasing them early); or review the penalties associated with certain crimes, such as rape, so that sentencing is much heavier. But essentially telling someone "you've paid your dues, you're free", then marking this person for life with a scarlet letter seems a little hypocritical to me. Keep the person in jail for life, don't release him/her. But if you do free such person, play it by the rules adn respect the definition of "freedom". If someone is deemed dangerous to society to the point that people should be warned about such person, then such person should not be free in the first place! 9. Congrats NY! Great victory, and what a season! Too early to drink and celebrate here, but will be done in spirit. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  10. I actually find such statement grossly untypical of what America (and Americans) stand for. What made America what it is, is the desire of its founding fathers and then citizens not to accept mediocrity, and always try and better the condition of American Citizens. The founding fathers were free to leave the colonies in the 18th century, yet decided to remain and try and better the system. In the process, they created a new form of government, which among other things, empowers its citizen to have their voices heard. "Feel free to leave" as an answer to someone complaining about an issue in America is, in my opinion, an insult to what this country stands for. Feel free to let your government know about it would be more appropriate.

    Possible?

Cocheese was a Horny Toad in a previous life. There's your proof. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  13. How long was it until the deployment? Premature... Straight out of the door, got wrapped all around the tail. Not pretty to watch... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  14. Never mentioned this part of the story before, but it's about 150 times that. It was never a factor in the relationship, as I didn't even know until a few months in, but at this point it seriously has no bearing on my feelings toward this situation. FOOL! Marry the girl. Who cares about feelings. Feelings are for women reading 19th century French literature, not men. Take the money and run. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  15. That generally turns out with me spinning faster yet because this spinner doesn't really like any input. If: -she's great sex -is so hot all your friends envy you -she or her family is loaded Then suck it up and stick with her. If: -she's a dry cow -she or her family are worth less than USD $1M in total equity Dump her. ABSINTHE

True absinthe will NOT make you "trip". It will if you down a full bottle, but then again, so will most liquors above 100 proof. Absinthe, in most cases, should be enjoyed with 1 part absinthe, 4 parts water or so. Add sugar at will, as some absinthe are really bitter. One should drink it like one drinks pastis. A couple of glasses over few hours while chewing the fat with friends. College frat is not the place to drink it, especially not straight up. And all the artists who were "tripping" at the turn of the century were either doing it because they were abusing the stuff, or because they were doing other shots and drugs on the side. If one wants to have hallucinations, one should drop acid, not absinthe. My ¥.02... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

    ABSINTHE

Blaspheme! I shall burn you at the stake! May your first child be a feminine child! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  20. Blind date! He showed up expecting the girl to be blind, not deaf. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  21. Well, you just made yourself an nice little amount of dough! The level at which Tsonga played is un-freaking-believable. Talking about being in a zone! If he can replicate today's level of play, he's going to be almost impossible to beat. But let's see what Sunday brings... Congrats though! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
  22. Please note that I do not know the accounting specifics of either DZ, but I reckon Elsinore does tremendous efforts not to be more expensive than Perris, and this probably in order to stay in business. When you look at the size and amenities offered by PVS, it is to Elsinore's credit that it is stil somewhat thriving while being merely minutes away from PVS. Offering a different "feel" is one thing, but remaining competitive price wise is certainly to be factored in as well. I would think Elsinore breaths a sigh of relief when jump tickets get more expensive in Perris, as they can follow suit and get a break. But then again, I may be totally off... 23. The best way to make sure there are no conflict of interest would be to have non-skydivers as board members. That won't happen, therefore conflict of interest will remain.
