I've had one for several weeks. you can buy them at circut city on line for $109.oo, and drop in a 2gig sd card for $25.oo The screen will flip open, spin 180 deg and lay flat back in it's slot and you can film for a couple of hours. it shoots 30 frames a sec, so it's not up to quality and not really something you want to charge money for. It has image stabilizer and does a fair job. it also comes with movie making software. at that price everybody should be shooting every jump they make. you can also get the same camera in 8gig for $149.00 at Best Buy...... You could build a box to put it in and mount a wide angle to the box. (I filmed whales in maui last week using bi-nocs)

The prop will be disconnected for road driving and a combination of shaft and chains will drive the side wheels. It will probably get better mileage driving than flying though. Larry Neal is no hillbilly, he is also test pilot for the Cartercopter (backed by NASA). and check out the Monarch landing videos, no flair landing gear, as a gyro pilot those just blow me away! Dallas area jumpers can get a gyro flight and see the flying motorcycle soon A flyin will be at Olney Municipal Airport, Olney, Texas 76374 (KONY) Sunday, 30 April 06

Wendy Was that the night jump where the only guy with an altimeter was on acid and was supposed to call the break but forgot and did not leave until 1500ft. Then he got left out there until morning because they thought he was dead. His name was "Charles" I think.

naw. he just sprained an ankle.(maybe broke it) just before he stepped off, he said "what ever you do, don't flip over on to your back". then he stepped off and flipped on to his back and fired a round reserve about half way down. the cross winds took him between the support cables . sprained his ankle and collasped his reserve , it reinflated , but hung in a tele pole. a friendswood cop used it for a scooter cover after that.

It's not certified yet, but Andy Keech has set a new altitude record for gyroplanes. 26,200ft. If you don't think that sounds very high. consider that he did it in a homebuilt aircraft. He'll take the record away from Bill Clem who took the record from Amelia Earhart, who used a Pitcarin with a radial engine CONGRATS ANDY!

Until just a few years ago you could not get paid for giving flight instruction in a experimental aircraft in the U.S. Now that that has changed you can get dual time in a gyro. Gyros have built in traps for fixed wing pilots. I.E. If you'er 200ft in the air nose high showing zero airspeed, how do you recover. If you answered "push the stick fwd, you just died. First thing you must do is throttle back to idle. Not too many fixed wingers can do that even if they read it in "how to fly a gyrocopter" So now you make a parachute with mom's sewing machine and read a book "how to skydive" and you go for it. what are your chances?
