Yes, there is no financial benefit. I would recommend to do AFF somewhere else. When one have 100+ jumps and is not afraid of making 8-10 jumps per day, he/she should visit Kolomna and make 100+ jumps in two weeks saving up to $1000

That's why I'm grabbing the risers immediately after my canopy begins to snivel.
-
Oh, I see. That's why you had to buy chips in the evening...

I believe in freefall one can hardly hear motor noise

It won't be cheaper to learn skydiving in Russia. AFF costs here about US$900-1000. Regular jumps cost less ($10 per ticket). Safety regulations are the same as in other countries. At least, at Kolomna and Stupino. I would not recommend another DZs here in Russia. These two are the best.

Corret, first Warrior was designed in 1997. But only in 2002 it began to fly really good. Warrior has a four-cell cross-braced design, very similiar to Onyx (well, I'd say Onyx has design similiar to Warrior). However, Warrior is not released yet. ParaAvis wants to test it before it go to the market. Any minor mistake with such aggressive canopy and pilot will be dead, so no mistakes are allowed.

Heh, there is a Russian braced canopy Warrior (made by ParaAvis). Recent swoop competition showed that Warrior can outswoop all other canopies... including Xaos. Well, it was the pilot who outswoop others, but Warrior, I think, one of the best swoop machines in the world.

Aerograd (Russia) or Empuria ? August
DancingFlame replied to Plummets's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hi, Sally Did you like jumping in shorts ? Oh, I know you did ! Usually, in august weather is not that good as in July. But it will be big boogies (12-24 august) at Aerograd, and a 110-way attempts. -
Should this packer be paid?
DancingFlame replied to ltdiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Agree. I would not encourage packers that do their job badly. If he packed a mal (line-over, spinning or other mal) then he should not be payed. Instead, he should pay a rigger for my reserve repack! If the packer is sure he did a good job, and his customer is not, packer should take a rig and jump it himself. If there is no mals, customer must pay for two pack jobs and two jump tickets. -
Aerograd (Russia) or Empuria ? August
DancingFlame replied to Plummets's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm trying! (need a 'WIZARD' emoticon here :) Last weekend was too rainy, only 20-25 loads on Saturday and about 15 in Sunday But now, sun is shining and I think 'f...ng WORK DAY! why do I have to sit here when others are jumping there!' // comments from vonSants: 'Girls in Russia are SO HOT! Uhh, I'm gonna stay here for some more time // -
Aerograd (Russia) or Empuria ? August
DancingFlame replied to Plummets's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Nightlife after 6-8 jumps... eeeh, there should be some time to sleep Weather at Empuria will be definitely better that at Aerograd. It often rains at Aerograd in August... you may make 10 jumps one day and sit on the ground all remaining week... -
When does Your Audible first go off on RW jumps
DancingFlame replied to j3zz's topic in Safety and Training
I set mine exactly at breakoff altitude, if I'm not going to signal the breakoff. If I should signal, I set my audible 150 ft above the breakoff altitude. -
Interesting Weekend for Downplanes
DancingFlame replied to faulknerwn's topic in Safety and Training
No, they still can. After extracting the handle with right hand, it's easy to hit the cable itself (!) with another hand. That's normal cutaway procedure all students study. -
Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?

Angela has already told me that -
Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?
DancingFlame replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Okay, this Saturday I'll be looking for a yellow pants with freefly dude in them I'm easier to miss, despite of 'Dancing Flame' words written on my grey-and-blue rig. Probably She flies really great! Definitely better than me Yeah, yeah... every time I'm on the DZ I'm so busy jumping a formation, that I can even miss a purple guy... err... rig -
I want to be the first buyer of this box (for HC-40) ! Can't wait for it to be ready... HC-40 is much better than 20. It has a larger CCD and improved video quality.

USPA needs to update their emblem. This is 2004' not the 70's
DancingFlame replied to royalskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Ha! Here, in Russia, for $16 only you make jump a round canopy I had some round jumps last year -
Why use wide box, when narrow one can be used? It will be safer to use a narrox box, I think. HC will be too loose in the TRV-style box. Well, large amounts of foam may help...
-
So far, did anybody find D-Box for the HC-20-30-40?
-
It measures pressure and does some calculations (based on the pressure changes, just like a Cypres, but not that precisely)

Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?
DancingFlame replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Uhh... and where is he now? Haven't seen him in Kolomna yet However, Altichick was there! It was a pleasure to make 4 jumps with her (and the whole team of Victor Kravtsov ) In the evening, she looked a bit... umm... tired ('Can't pack that QUICK! next day I'll use a packer') -
The "maybe you should try bowling" talk....
DancingFlame replied to WrongWay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I know at least 4 girls telling this to me every time they have an ass-slide landing However, all of them have no more than 200 jumps. So, you're not alone, it seems to be a common woman's problem. -
Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?
DancingFlame replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Well, that's a preliminary information on the website, it is subject to change. However, I've found more precise info: Russian 110-way record will be set at August, 22, and there will be training week before (14-22 Aug). And a speed 10-way star competition, somewhere in the August too. 16-17 July - SWOOP competition (with Icarus Team Extreme involved). -

DancingFlame replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
How did you know that? Well, not a 150, but 110-way. In August, don't know the exact date yet, but definitely in July and in Aerograd. Should I find it for you? It's not a joke! -
It's a good time to start practicing a 270 approach...
