Say hi to patrick, scott, and craig for me....great people who helped me through AFF... I miss sebastian...such a great place.. but it did take me almost 2 and a half months to get my AFF done...started in march 10th..finished middle of may....I was there two to three times a week....culprit in the problem??? Amen to that brother.....

Quade, ....I agree...FAR more 4 way teams, RW teams in general could be saved with jumping them.. BUT my point is cypres are machines and they could fail at the wrong time....as I stated before...will they? probably not...A cypres should not be needed to replace common sense...unfortunately...they are needed.... you obviously had no clue that I was saying that tongue in cheek....I would never dream of outlawing hookturns...or making canopy regulations....more regulation is NOT what we want. that is the whole point to my post....but I think before we mandate AAD's we should think about other ways of "saving" us from ourselves....which I think is a joke unto itself... so this begs the question...if ya kill a bald eagle in freefall...and if you still are alive after said collision are you breaking the law by killing one of our protected birds...JK.... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Wrong..... lots of kids play..i've seen as young as 11 with there parents there of course...the key is supervision and regulation of the speed of there markers...just make sure they wear sweatshirts or something heavier like that...to ease up on the bruises...other than that...it's alot of fun. I started playing at 13...and I'm 29 now...so that was WAYYY back in the day... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

where do you see a "I'm too tough" attitude in my post? my problem is not in people wearing AAD's...I'd love to have one...and will as soon as I get the money together. MY point along with Fallinwoman's is that AAD's are not a ecurity blanket. just because you have one, does NOT mean it will work or work properly. there are absolutely no garuntees in skydiving...I am afraid to jump with someone who will not jump without a cypres. I dont mind if they jump them...that's great...but to say that you'd NEVER jump with out one is nuts, in my opinion. by the way...1200 bucks on a new cypres would probably be better spent on training, jumps, currency....those are the things that stand a better chance of saving my fat ass than a cypres ever will. AAD's tend to be for people who go low...rarely do they have a "true" save. and they do fail. just imagine a 4 way team doing big time over-under's and a cypres goes off in someone's face....that's scary..will it happen? probably not....will I get knocked out in freefall? probably not...as long as I keep my eye's open...and am aware WHO i jump with...BUT..you are entitled to your opinion. I dont think AAD regulation will make any of us safer...I think outlawing hook turns would save FAR more skydivers than an AAD ever will....or how about a canopy regulation of some type.....to prevent downsizing to fast....or how about no freeflying from people with less than 100 jumps....or...or...or...you can go on and on...there is a far greater need for canopy training than AAD use.... because I know I can pull my own handles....and I am carefull who I jump with. even if I did have an AAD who's to say A:it'll work, B: I remembered to turn the thing on, C: even if it does work, I better have as skymonkey one puts it....a divinely guided reserve. a no flare landing could also kill me....D: that anything in skydiving is guaranteed....if you jump out of an airplane you can DIE...with an aad, with everything done right, you can still die..... Buying a Wings container... Opinions please...
skymedic replied to rhino's topic in Gear and Rigging
When you ask for the Stainless Steel Deluxe Option on your new Wings this means that every piece of hardware on your rig will be stainless steel. This includes, but is not limited to, the 3 rings, chest strap, thread-thrus, hip rings, main and reserve brake line guide rings, RSL guide ring, RSL lanyard ring and RSL riser ring. The Stainless Steel Standard Option remains the same; with Standard the 3 rings, chest strap and hip rings are stainless steel. (Please note that we do not have stainless steel B-12 clips). You misunderstood what I meant by a "security blanket". a reserve is not one either. there is no reserver presently made that can't malfunction. reserves fail also. my point to this, is that all these devices are man made, and will fail. hopefully not when I or you are using it. the problem is when people put all there faith into a device that "might" save you. and they wont jump with out this device that "might" save them....THAT is what I dont understand. as far as me being a troll? I dont think I am...or the moderators would've spanked me by now....

exactly.... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Why? Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

unfortunately some people feel the need for a security blanket in a sport where there is no TRUE security blanket.... it just doesn't make sense to me for that someone will not jump a rig just because it has no cypres....I just dont get it.... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I wouldn't know...as I dont use an AAD.... why????? Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
