It really says something about the state of the current Republican party that there has been a continuous conservative appointed majority in the SC for decades and yet they desperately need to appoint even more conservative Justices because they still fail time and time again in their arguments in front of that court either in favour of their own policies or against Democrat ones.

Where do you think they would have been left? I just read a story about a Japanese tourist stuck in Peru since March who they just gave special dispensation to visit Machu Picchu. Sure, it sucks for him to be there but spoiler alert - he's still alive. No-one reads the small print. People will bitch and moan just as hard the next time around no matter what you warn them of beforehand.

And I (among others) also questioned exactly what we're talking about now - how the thousands of incoming travellers from places that had been "banned" were supposed to be screened and where they'd be quarantined if they were. You (or someone) said that was all going it work perfectly. You literally just said you weren't ok with either a real travel ban or quarantine for incoming travellers. In what way are you in favour of effective measures to stop covid from entering the country? I would have been ok with not restricting international travel and I would have been wrong - but Covid was already embedded in enough places inside the borders by then that domestic social distancing measures to control the spread of the virus within the country were already hugely more important than trying to stop the virus fom getting in. That battle had already been lost. Well, apparently he's tricked you into thinking it wasn't useless.

That is absurd prima facie nonsense which can only possibly make sense if you consider that having a President at all is tyranny. In which case the only thing the EC does is sometimes substitute tyranny of the minority for tyranny of the majority. Yay.

Unsurprisingly, he tries to have it both ways. Whenever Q says makes a prediction (no matter how obvious) that ends up happening it's proof that Q really does work for US intelligence and knows exactly what's going on. When Q makes a prediction that doesn't happen it's misdirection to keep the enemy from figuring out their real plan. When Q says something utterly batshit insane it's proof of the strength of the movement that it still resonates with Ron and all his friends despite being total nonsense.

It may only be hindsight for you but not for the rest us. This is exactly what you were being told at the time. The fact that you appear to be conceding that the travel ban was useless, while you're still trying to bash us for not supporting it is frankly baffling.

Then you weren't ok with taking any real measures to stop the virus. Under the criteria the Chinese border "closure" was just xenophobic security theatre. Not just shutting the stable door after the horse had bolted, but leaving the back door open for all the other horses to escape too.

Only because you've been brainwashed into thinking that states are like people. That a red state is a unified homogenous blob of conservative thought and a blue state contains nothing but liberal principles. It's nonsense. Like your suggestion that you'd have to redistrict all the states to make a non EC election work.... Dude. Think about it. If the EC didn't exist the makeup of the states wouldn't make any difference. There would still be the same number of people living in the same places with the same regional concerns voting the same way. So what? Elections are generally decided by a few swing states anyway. You could just as well say that under the EC a President is elected by Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina and a couple of others. So if only a few states are going to have all that power, why is it better that those states contain fewer humans?

Wen it starts to affect them, independents will start judging independently. When it doesn't they're more likely to go with their right or left lean. The airline/border shutdown was a useless overreaction, in that neither were done properly or in time, and weren't backed up with strong enough domestic measures that would have made a real difference.
