Aff1 ....sucky exit and arch question
hawkflight replied to hawkflight's topic in Safety and Training
Hi all, I did my AFF1 yesterday and even though I knew thw dive inside and out when i got to the door I guess fear got the better of me and I forgot to look at the plane when I let go and i did not present my arch to the wind. Sorta just jumped backwards and looked down causing me and both my JM's to tumble for a few seconds.. after they got me stable the rest of the dive went perfect.......My question...is there any tips on what i can do to get myself ready for the next jump so as not to make the same mistake twice ....thanks for any help on this matter....Tom ............................... hawkflight replied to stephhenyar's topic in Introductions and Greets
Welcome to the addiction, far more addicting then heroin or crack and just as expensive ............but no drug will make you feel the way skydiving does .....it is the ultimate high......pun intended.........Tom ............................... Duhhhhh....sorry the pilot chute I knew that i swear I really did...lol...............Jim and Doug were my instuctors....when we left the plane I did not turn towards the wind like i should have and began to tumble but Jim hung tight and got me stable and the rest of the jump went great!....I'll have to work on that exit and arch ...It kinda sucked I really wanted to do good...I paid attention in class and thought i was ready it's a good excuse to jump agin real soon though.....Tom ............................... Hello all , I( did my AFF1 yesterday while there are no true words to explain the exprience I will say this....i felt very significant and hopelessly insignficant at the same time!!! It was euphoric!!!!......I had a little trouble with my arch and tumbled a bit before my jumpmasters got me stable....after that it was all good....I was altitude aware and preformed my practice throws then threw the pilot for real the canopy was surprisingly easy to control and I followed my landing pattern perfectly and did an easy step down landing....I don't know what I enjoyed most the intense feeling of freefall....or the utter peacefullness and calm of the canopy ride.....I wish I could think of the words to explain it but there relly are none.......But you all know what i'm talking about..................Tom ............................... This may sound stupid but when I was a kid about 9yrs. old or so my parents took me to this wildlife preserve theme park....and during one of the shows I was chosen out of the crowd to race a red tail hawk the race went like this....I had a long leather thong about 6' or so with a piece of meat attached to it i was supposed to run as fast as I could to the finish line ....about 20 ft. away before the hawk got to the meat well i started thinking about how cool it was going to be to go back to school the following monday having won a race against a RED TAIL HAWK....when they yelled GO I ran like the devil my heart was beating out of my chest "little Tommy hawk racer".....well damn if the hawk did'nt land on that piece of meat long before I ever got to the finish line........when I turned around and saw that hawk pickin apart that hunk of meat i swear he laughed at me...........SKYDIVING......I call it traing for my re-match with that damn hawk..........true story........Tom ............................... Hi guys, Sunday I make my AFF1 jump and I intend to complete my training at the same drop zone....Skydive the point West Point Va.....and i am interested in getting to know and making friends with the other skydivers, now don't get me wrong I'm not shy and I do have the social skills to meet people and make friends, however I've been hearing things like "beer rules" and "DZ etiquette" could somebody fill me in so I don't come across like a dork or an unfriendly prick i.e not buying beer when I should.....Thanks Tom..... ............................... Hi i own a Tattoo piercing Studio and have been piercing for about 15yrs.....quite a long time in my industry......Their are many pros and cons to having a PA.....mostly pros.......your partner will love the added sensation that the ring provide it will also give the illusion that your penis is that much thicker during insertion......sorry if I'm being too graphic for some ...but this is what I do for a living and it is all matter of fact to me....anyway in addition to your partners satisfaction it will provide stimulation to you where you've never had...i.e...INSIDE your penis....the Prince Albert piercing heals much faster then other genital piercings because every time you urinate you are essencially cleaning it....your own urine is sterile to you.....now for the cons......you will be putting a permanent hole in your urethra if you have the piercing for any lenghth of time the hole will not close........and now for the "million" dollar questio......YES IT WILL AFFECT YOUR STREAM.....however it's not as bad as you think and can easily be controled...you probably won't have to sit down but you will have to pay attention and make the proper adjustments.....not unlike skydiving...lol... in conclusion I myself have a PA and swear by it as do my sexual parners.......but it's not for everybody just those who want to make the already wonderful world of sex THAT MUCH BETTER.....please feel free to ask me any other questions you might have...............Tom ............................... Hi I am going to be taking my AFF 1 on Sunday I completed the classsroom last week....and had a question or two i WAS HOPING i COULD GET ANSWERED HERE....1.After deploying my main chute and and making sure I have a good canapy that I can control.....Just how hard is it going to be for me to find my playground and then to follow the landing pattern...I understand what I was taught in class regarding this "the book work"...so to speak....but I am unsure as to the difficulty in appying and executing these manuvers in real life......IU hope this makes sence.......Thanks in advance for any help in this area.......I do plan to disscuss my concerns with my jumpmasters but was hoping to get a heads up from you guys........Thanks Tom ............................... So yesterday was to be "the big day"....2 weeks after my first tandem and the day finally arrived my first AFF class and jump!!!! like fingernails on a chalkboard I endured the brutal 2 weeks between jumps......Wake yesterday at 5am beautiful morning not a cloud in the sky......meet my budy Chris after a quick bite to eat it's off to the DZ....get to drop zone 8am ...a few clouds moving in nothing major.. watch them take up two flights of jumpers then head to trailor for class.......11am break ......a few more clouds rolling in but their still flying......back to class........finish class.. pass written test 100% correct leave trailor to walk to hangar....AND IT'S Raining with no end in sight...........CAN YOU FEEL MY PAIN......so broken and defeated I re-schedule for next weekend and cry softly to myself as a begin the drive home............Tom ...............................
