That's a good answer! But I guess those are sort of default things we hope for in someone. I definitely am with you about being open to what her other traits are. You have to be willing to have a bit of elasticity in your acceptance of others how they come. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

You, my friend, should have quit while you were ahead. That one is just awful. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

It might be, I honestly don't know, but it works really well for me. I want to upgrade though, I already bent the tip on this one...... Check out Knifecenter, then, and in the brand search box, select either Benchmade or Spyderco. There is virtually nothing you could get from either of those manufacturers that will not be an excellent knife to have and to use. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Beth, I didn't mean to level that accusation at you. I'm sorry if it came across that way -- my negligence. That post was more about generalities that I've been seeing lately. I think everyone's seen that go on at least some. One thing is certain; womanizing jerks will continue to get women. About the only reason I can figure it happens is that some women, at least, care more about the looks than the person underneath, so they get only that. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Yeah, anything Chris Reeve is awesome. I have held Sebenzas at gun shows, but I can't justify over $300 for a pocket knife! I have a few $100+ ones and even those, I don't like to treat as "users." Also, I'm not big on thumb-stud knives. If Reeve made a thumb-hole version of the Sebenza I'd be all over that. The Wave is a great tool! I have one in my knapsack. I hear they have a new one out, the Surge. It's in the new NRA magazine, and they bill it as an improved Wave. Would love to check it out, but since I don't need to replace my Wave, I'd have a hard time justifying spending good jump-tix money on it. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... KayKay, obviously I ain't catching whatever it is you got -- I guess I would have by now if I were gonna. If you need someone to run down and help you with anything, tell me -- I'd be happy to. You need chicken soup or somethin'? You're not so far away that I wouldn't. Feel better, hon. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I think there are plenty, and that many times women don't know how to see it. Sure, there are assholes out there. But there are plenty of good men who get passed right by because women are looking for the good-looking, flashy, wealthy ones, and they willfully lose sight of what matters. Then they get hurt by an egotistical, self-absorbed great-looking guy who hurts them largely because he is so great-looking and has women beating down his door leading him to screw around and make the women hate him... I dunno. I really don't have the answers. If I did, I guess I'd be in a love relationship right this moment. But it does seem to me that women look right through a lot of good-at-heart guys and zoom straight for the love-'em-and-leave-'em heartbreakers just because the heartbreakers are so physically good-looking, or they have the right 'tude and tats and piercings or some shallow shit like that. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... and they were all yellow... I can't believe it took me this long to think of "Fire and Rain," by James Taylor. Also, there's a sad one by Rod Stewart called "The Killing of Georgie." "October" by U2 is not sad, per se, but it's sentimental. Not to mention short. I went to a laser rock show and they actually had a great segment done to that song, with laser-created leaves falling down from above as though we were all lying on the grass under the trees... I LOVE laser rock shows. Anyone who lives on Long Island, I'm jealous. You have the Vanderbilt Planetarium there with awesome shows every week! Don't waste it! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Let's not talk about how many skydives this portion of my collection represents ... Pictured are Spyderco Copilot Spyderco Gunting Spyderco Navigator Benchmade AFCK (on right) Benchmade Mini Griptilian Of all of them, actually my favorite is probably the Mini Grip. Great little knife. The cool thing is that they are available in all kinds of wacky colors, even yellow, green, pink, red, blue... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Heh, I'm like a walking gear bag. Most people who know me know that they can come see me for just about anything they need. Knife. Fire. Pen. Contact lens solution. Utility cord. Flashlight. Spare batteries. The funny thing is, people think you're odd when you have these things even as they ask you to borrow yours because they don't have their own. It's kind of like if someone's life was saved in a vehicle fire, and they looked at the guy who saved them and said, "What kind of weird geek keeps a fire extinguisher in his car?!" Dave, that Hideaway knife looks pretty interesting. I'm not that crazy about the blade shapes, particularly because I always keep sharpening in mind, and avoid blades that would be a bitch to sharpen (that's why no full-serrated Spydercos). But the concept is cool, and I do like their kydex sheaths. They look very professional. Right now, I have two of BendyWendy's Delicas to sharpen for her. Got in a little over my head volunteering to do it, because I'm real good sharpening straight blades, but serrations are a lot more work. I loaned her one of my plain edge Delicas in the meanwhile because I felt bad for taking so long. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
There was another side to that story: the fact that McDonald's was serving its coffee well above the normal industry standard temperature. Numerous other burn injuries had been reported, according to what I heard, and yet they had made no adjustment, and that's why they were found to have had a kind of reckless disregard. That said, the temperature of the coffee should have made no fucking difference, because even if it were the regular "industry standard temperature," would you want THAT spilling all over your shriveled, dried-out cunt, you stupid old bag!?! I DIDN'T THINK SO. I mean, really. Who the fuck puts hot coffee between her legs in a moving car, figuring that oh, it won't be anything I'll be upset about if it spills on my twat -- OOOPS! HEY, WAIT, THIS COFFEE IS [I]MUCH HOTTER THAN I EXPECTED IT TO BE IF IT SPILLED ON MY LONG-DISUSED COOTER! Claiming that it was McDonald's at fault is like saying that she would have been just fine if REGULAR-HOT coffee had spilled on her damned minge. (Heh heh, yeah, I'm using the word from that animated netflick! "Oh, baby I'm thinkin' about your spaz-hole, thinkin' about your flange!") -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Ugh, I hate having to consider how conspicuous a blade is going to be in deciding whether to carry a given knife. People need to get over it. They love to make stupid comments when you present a decent folder, even in a completely non-threatening manner! "Oooh, don't hurt me! Who you gonna kill with that?!" Ignorant stuff. Like there's something evil about having the means to cut stuff on you. Blade and fire. There's no excuse, now that we're no longer cavemen, for not having both available to you at virtually any given moment. That's why I wear one of these. Great little invention, the neck knife. Shower, swim, sleep, it's always there if needed. I've allowed myself to be convinced to take it off for sex... But then, I'll do anything to please a woman! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

Nothin' wrong with those! At least they're "users" -- the Dark Star, I don't want to go and cut stuff with! (Well, good thing I have a bunch of other knives I'm willing to use.) I think I remember hearing somewhere that the Delica is about the top-selling knife around! Oh, sorry to mislead: that Dark Star is NOT a black-blade model (dunno if they made them as such, anyway). That's just the way the flash made the pic come out. It's a plain old satin-finish ATS-34 stainless blade. I posted the pic of that one because I just love admiring that knife. It's ...handsome? Feels really nice in the hand, too. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

QuoteMy current 0% CC says that if I'm late on any payment anywhere they'll jack that interest up. So I'm not and I get to use their money for free. I've heard that not only this happens, but if you are late and get the interest jacked up on ONE card, YOUR OTHER CARDS WILL DO THE SAME! I don't know if it's true or not. I heard it from someone. I dug myself into a multi-thousand dollar hole twice in my life. No, wait, three times. Nothing like paying $200-$300 a month and barely denting the balance. I am so incredibly happy to be free of that. Trying now to keep up the discipline to not let it happen again. Skydiving makes it easy -- and skydiving was not even what made it happen in the past! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Heartb... oh. Um, I dunno... It's not like I have special qualities in mind that I don't sorta expect everyone to have, you know? I want someone who is easygoing, most of all. I haven't spent all this time learning to be more relaxed, myself, only to get a girlfriend who is all touchy and prickly and easily displeased. I want someone who can take what life offers and make fun with it, and not sweat the small stuff. I am not particular about size, shape, hair length/color/type, ethnicity, background... Of course, I want someone attractive physically, but I have found that as I have gotten older, I no longer put so much emphasis on what a girl looks like. Don't need a "hottie." A body that's "lived-in" is perfect. It surprises me to realize this, but it's true, and I'm glad I've changed in this way. I can accept people and their imperfections a LOT more than I ever used to be able to. Does that sound weird? I guess I mean that I can love a person not just in spite of her not being perfect, but because of it. About the only real physical criterion I have is that she has to have feet that I find attractive, because that's just my fetish. That's it. And even those span a wide range of attributes.

Good point. Pretty freakin' gratifying, now that you mention it! LOL! We usually have to wait for the sluggish criminal justice system, and it often doesn't do right. Hell, it coulda been MY car he hit, and I wouldn't have been upset as long as I knew that was the reason I had a dented bumper! I'da volunteered like, "Cool, now break my side mirrors with the heads of his asshole buddies!" "Scuff up my trailer hitch with that one's teeth!" -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Mike, clue me in (and anyone else who hadn't got one yet): what's this "plunder" you're so happy about getting? Me, I'm waiting on some knives I ordered. One is for me, and the other is a gift to skyflyingbecca for graduating from paramedic school!
