Sounds to me like an exit separation problem. It's hard to imagine that a jumper just off AFF is going to travel very far in a track, no matter which direction he's going. If he was following you, he should have allowed more time,and if you were following him, then it's you who left too soon. Obviously, I was not there. This is just my opinion based on your narritive. There were at least two memorial dives for Johnny yesterday at ZHills. The first was an earmuff-shaped RW formation with a simulated release of ashes (Johnny was not creamated). The rumor was that they emptied a couple of ashtrays from the Muff Bros. trailer - more than enough for a big bag. The second jump was an RW formation of the letter "M" sequenced to the letter "B". It went very well. There was a high overcast allowing for great visability of both jumps by the folks on the ground. The second load was on jumprun at 4:19 pm, with an exit at 4:20. Go figure. Make sure that they allow extra room for the alti in the suit. Mine is on the leg (front of thigh) and is a little tight. The suit was fine, but the addition of a flat pocket section reduced the room in that area. It's the best idea, however, from a snag viewpoint. Yes. Now they can not only avoid something that may be "dangerous", but also avoid anything that may be exciting, and therefore dangerous. I think that each jump is easily worth several days of golf-playing, and possibly years worth of couch-sitting. I think that CRW jumps can actually extend your life. Sometimes terrifying things happen that cause your life to flash before your eyes - that's like getting extra days !! Then you're actually gaining time. Actually, that was one of the factors I considered. And this brings up yet another question. In my experience, a cutaway canopy attached by a corner with the end cell closed (as this one was) has an almost zero chance of inflating. Based on that thinking, I expected that Eric would have no trouble flying with the cutaway canopy and dropping it when he wanted, which proved to be true. I may be hijacking my own thread here, but does anyone have an opinion on this ? I realize that Ian may have a different take on it, after his experience at Eloy.
