I'm going to step in and steal this away for a sec. I just realized that according to those definitions, I have never handled a firearm in my life. Every "gun" I've ever handled and fired used a combustible, not an explosive. Black powder is explosive, but I've never shot black powder. I have something that might be fun to try. Friend of mine just aquired a fairly interesting peice of hardware. It's a rifle, but like nothing most of us have ever seen. It's chambered for the .44 magnum or special, a handgun cartridge. The reason for the is the .44 that it is subsonic. That's important because the length of the barrel in a sound suppressor. It's quieter than anything I've ever heard. All you hear is a tiny click and a pfft.
