Hi Tim, Re: Having it read "honorably discharged" on my DD214 OK, that got me to looking. I am 82 yrs old so things could easily have changed since I got out. My DD214, in box 13a CHARACTER OF SERVICE says HONORABLE. My 214 was issued to me upon completion of active duty, not upon Discharge, which occurred 2+ yrs later. Where does yours 214 say "honorably discharged"? This nothing more than curiosity on my part. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Mark, Many years ago, I was reading article about the GOP & Roe v Wade. One analogy was, what would the dog do if it it ever caught the car. The GOP found Roe v Wade to be something that they could use to stir up people. In their minds, this led to re-election. It has been working exactly how they wanted it to work. Then the GOP 'discovered' the 2nd Amendment. It also is working exactly how they want it to work. IMO both are just ways to stir up people to help ensure the re-election of GOP candidates. When this country comes to it's senses [ do not expect it soon ] and we vote out the people to are the T's & P's folks, then we will be able to make progress. While I truly wish BIGUN's ( Keith's ) suggestions could come to fruition, I am not holding my breath. I wish that I could be more optimistic. We got rid of one idiot ( Trump ), now we need to get rid of the other idiots. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Re: Three-quarters say Trump has either done something illegal (46%) or unethical (29%). Only a quarter (23%) think he's done nothing wrong. Put me in 46% group. Poll: Donald Trump has Republican support but independent voters aren't sold : NPR Waco is not the entire USA. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi Keith, I was writing my above response as this came in. I disagree, we need a Supreme Court to re-define what can be allowed; with a modicum of common sense. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, Re: our politicians are just fucking inept. Both of ours. Far too much of a generalization to be taken serious. With some politicians, yes for both parties; i.e.: - Dianne Feinstein should have been sent into retirement 20 yrs ago - Donald Trump should never have been elected President We both could go on for a very long time. For me, it is the same way with T's & P's. For some people, this is very sincere & appreciated. For too many, it is a vacant gesture. Jerry Baumchen PS) Re: get both aisles to sit the fuck down and talk with each other If only. PPS) If anyone thinks that politics frustrates me [ it does ]; well, I just got a Universal Remote to cover all my 'not a lot' electronics; now, that is a frustrating learning curve. But, I am getting there.

Hi folks, Trump is beginning to be the albatross around their necks: at the House GOP conference in Orlando, where dozens of congressional Republicans . . . hoped to focus on the party’s legislative priorities and achievements three months into the House majority. Instead, they faced repeated questions about the implications of Trump’s latest legal woes.
